:00:10. > :00:13.West Yorkshire Police say they've dealt with an unprecedented number

:00:14. > :00:15.of firearms incidents over the festive period.

:00:16. > :00:17.A man was injured in Shipley, and a car was damaged

:00:18. > :00:22.Then in the early hours of Christmas Day, police received

:00:23. > :00:26.reports of an assault on Sackville Street in Bradford.

:00:27. > :00:28.A police vehicle attending the incident was shot at,

:00:29. > :00:33.Police don't believe the incidents were related.

:00:34. > :00:36.York Minster's bells fell silent on Christmas Day for the first time

:00:37. > :00:42.The bell ringing team were removed in October after concerns

:00:43. > :00:43.about safeguarding - although there have

:00:44. > :00:50.Children in Haworth are learning how to man a fire engine bought

:00:51. > :00:53.by volunteers after the closure of their local fire station.

:00:54. > :00:55.The fire cadets are also helping the community to protect

:00:56. > :01:01.The village was hit by the Boxing Day storms last year -

:01:02. > :01:04.and they're gearing up in case of more bad weather.

:01:05. > :01:11.It's a big job for small people, and while these cadets can't tackle

:01:12. > :01:14.fires and are doing this for fun, they are learning lots from the

:01:15. > :01:17.adult volunteers who've stepped in since the closure of the local fire

:01:18. > :01:21.There's only one pump at Keighley now.

:01:22. > :01:26.So, if that pump's out, we're relying on engines coming from

:01:27. > :01:30.When there were the floods at Boxing Day there

:01:31. > :01:35.Leeds, which you know, to me it's ridiculous having to wait

:01:36. > :01:42.This is what the Boxing Day storms did to the village.

:01:43. > :01:46.Floodwater caused the walls of the Mill Hey Brewery to collapse.

:01:47. > :01:48.It was scenes like this that inspired Ian Chapman

:01:49. > :01:58.Boxing Day the pub wall went down at the bottom,

:01:59. > :02:02.the bridge went, and we felt that if we had it then we could have done

:02:03. > :02:08.something, you know, to assist the other fire people.

:02:09. > :02:13.The children have been learning how the fire engine

:02:14. > :02:17.could be used in an emergency and they've been helping fill sandbags

:02:18. > :02:20.which will be available to people if the worst happens.

:02:21. > :02:24.Well, there's something in the fire engine

:02:25. > :02:28.that sucks up the water in a tank and then you can like spray it

:02:29. > :02:31.When the floods come and stuff, we need to put sandbags

:02:32. > :02:35.outside doors so it don't flood houses and stuff.

:02:36. > :02:39.If floods were to happen, you can block some of

:02:40. > :02:42.the drains up so they don't flood to make it worse.

:02:43. > :02:46.As willing as the kids are to help, it's the adult

:02:47. > :02:49.volunteers who'll be using the engine if it's needed

:02:50. > :02:55.I found out with fighting for the fire station

:02:56. > :02:59.you can't rely on politicians, you can't rely on council.

:03:00. > :03:01.You have to get off your bum and do it yourself.

:03:02. > :03:06.Everyone here is hoping their services won't be needed this

:03:07. > :03:18.winter, but they are ready just in case.

:03:19. > :03:40.Huddersfield are fourth. A great win for Leeds United.

:03:41. > :03:47.Beckford sent off, by the way. A great win for Rotherham. They are

:03:48. > :03:51.bottom, I am afraid. And later on tonight, of course,

:03:52. > :03:56.Sheffield Wednesday travel to Newcastle. Their kick-off is at 7.

:03:57. > :04:06.45pm. In League One:

:04:07. > :04:15.A great win for Sheffield United. Two goals late on from Billy Sharp.

:04:16. > :04:21.There is a similar situation for Doncaster Rovers in League Two. They

:04:22. > :04:24.beat Notts County by a goal to nil. The goal was scored by Williams in

:04:25. > :04:29.the 60th minute. Now, do you need to walk

:04:30. > :04:31.off a few mince pies? Well now you can plan your trek

:04:32. > :04:34.across the Cleveland Way From today the entire

:04:35. > :04:38.109 mile trail over the North York Moors National Park

:04:39. > :04:41.is live on Google Street View The Park Authority has mapped

:04:42. > :04:45.the whole route with volunteers showcasing the beauty

:04:46. > :05:02.of the moors and coast. Let's get the weather now.

:05:03. > :05:06.After a cold day it will be a cold night, unsurprisingly so. Plenty of

:05:07. > :05:10.clear skies. Temperatures will take a tumble W the winds starting to

:05:11. > :05:16.ease, we are at risk of seeing frost and maybe even a few patches of

:05:17. > :05:19.isolated fog forming around dawn. Temperatures overnight two or three

:05:20. > :05:24.Celsius. These temperatures are in the towns and cities. Rurally they

:05:25. > :05:29.will drop lower. A bright start tomorrow. A clean, crisp sort of

:05:30. > :05:33.day. A lovely fresh feel. If you enjoy the sunshine, please do.

:05:34. > :05:39.Despite the light winds, I think it will be chilly. Temperatures up to

:05:40. > :05:44.five, six, maybe seven Celsius. The outlook for the week, much the same.

:05:45. > :05:47.High pressure is firmly in charge of our weather.

:05:48. > :05:51.Get out there and enjoy it before things cloud over towards the end of

:05:52. > :05:55.the week. That is just about as far as we go this evening. We are back

:05:56. > :05:59.with three bulletins tomorrow and Amy will be in the chair. Enjoy the

:06:00. > :06:03.rest of your evening. From us all here, good night.

:06:04. > :06:07.and longer spells of rain over northern isles. By the end of the

:06:08. > :06:12.night, temperatures recovering once again after a chilly evening, three

:06:13. > :06:17.to five Celsius. Tomorrow and for the next couple of days, we have

:06:18. > :06:21.this area of high pressure which will really settle the weather down,

:06:22. > :06:27.compared with of late. We start tomorrow on a mainly dry note. There

:06:28. > :06:30.will be a few showers continuing in the north-west and the northern

:06:31. > :06:34.isles, and the wind picking up here as we go through the day. Elsewhere,

:06:35. > :06:39.it's looking dry, with plenty of brightness and sunshine and not as

:06:40. > :06:45.raw a field tomorrow as we have had today, with less in the way of wind.

:06:46. > :06:49.Temperature wise, up a notch to around seven to nine Celsius. For

:06:50. > :06:53.the rest of the UK, we are also under the influence of high

:06:54. > :06:59.pressure. Dry conditions across the board, with brightness and sunshine

:07:00. > :07:00.and very little in terms of wins. Temperatures around
