:06:15. > :06:16.sunshine, now to see how the weekend is looking with the full forecast

:06:17. > :06:18.from Jennifer Bartram. New Year's Eve is looking

:06:19. > :06:22.like another fairly cloudy and mild day, but by the time we get

:06:23. > :06:26.to New Year's Day, it's looking much Through this evening and overnight,

:06:27. > :06:30.we have a fair amount of cloud around, it's breaking in places,

:06:31. > :06:32.especially further east, so we will see some clear spells

:06:33. > :06:35.and, under the clear skies, perhaps a touch of frost and

:06:36. > :06:41.some patches of mist and fog. Further west as well,

:06:42. > :06:43.we will see a few drizzly patches, but on the whole, it's a mild night,

:06:44. > :06:46.fairly breezy, and temperatures will dip down to around

:06:47. > :06:49.seven or eight degrees. So, if you're stepping out

:06:50. > :06:52.first thing on New Year's Eve, it's going to be a grey start

:06:53. > :06:55.to the morning, but it improve. it's going to be a grey start

:06:56. > :06:58.to the morning, but it improves. We'll see the sunshine coming

:07:02. > :07:06.we'll just start to see a few patches of rain spreading

:07:07. > :07:08.into more northern parts. Tomorrow's top temperature

:07:09. > :07:10.around 10 or 11 degrees, Now, as we head through

:07:11. > :07:17.Saturday night and towards 2017, we keep an eye on this band of rain

:07:18. > :07:20.which is gradually At the moment, it looks like,

:07:21. > :07:24.by the time we get to midnight, that rain is going to be with most

:07:25. > :07:28.of us, so it will be quite wet start will be quite a wet start

:07:29. > :07:31.to bring in the New Year. New Year's Day itself is looking

:07:32. > :07:33.something like this. Once that rain clears away,

:07:34. > :07:36.we're looking at a dry day. There will actually be some sunny

:07:37. > :07:38.spells, but that bitter northerly wind is going to make things

:07:39. > :07:41.feel cold and the temperature on the thermometer up

:07:42. > :07:47.to four degrees Celsius. A cold and soggy start of the year,

:07:48. > :07:51.brilliant! I'll be back at 10.50 tonight,

:07:52. > :07:57.when we'll find out how people in our region have fared

:07:58. > :08:13.in the New Year's Honours list. Good evening, fog has been a problem

:08:14. > :08:18.in recent days, slow changes over the next 48 hours or so as this

:08:19. > :08:22.weather front moves south bringing rain and behind it, much cleaner,

:08:23. > :08:27.cold arctic air which will sweep that fog out of the way. The fog was

:08:28. > :08:32.dense in places, you could hardly see across the Thames in Kingston,

:08:33. > :08:33.Greater London this afternoon. It has been thickening
