:00:46. > :00:47.Although Frida was a lifeguard and summing instructor in

:00:48. > :00:50.Scarborough for decades, today is her first trip to the town's new

:00:51. > :00:53.Frida has vascular dementia, but she still

:00:54. > :00:55.loves swimming, so volunteer Liz is helping keep Frida and

:00:56. > :00:58.They were introduced by local Alzehimer's charity

:00:59. > :01:01.Side by Side, who match dementia sufferers with volunteers who enjoy

:01:02. > :01:03.the same things and can help them participate in the activities they

:01:04. > :01:09.She really did make me laugh, a real sense of humour, and

:01:10. > :01:14.We were matched because we both like swimming anyway,

:01:15. > :01:17.but she becomes more animated, that sounds a bit corny,

:01:18. > :01:21.More alive, she has more sparkle in her eye, she is clearly

:01:22. > :01:24.So when she starts to do it and talk about it,

:01:25. > :01:29.Frida has spent her life in Scarborough.

:01:30. > :01:32.She has raised a family here and is a well-known figure locally as

:01:33. > :01:34.she has taught hundreds of schoolchildren swim.

:01:35. > :01:36.Getting back in the water is a way for her to

:01:37. > :01:40.reconnect with her past and keep her brain and body active.

:01:41. > :01:42.But it's only possible with the help of a

:01:43. > :01:47.By 2025 there could be more than a million

:01:48. > :01:48.people with dementia, and I

:01:49. > :01:51.would like people to think, if dementia was to affect you, your

:01:52. > :01:53.family, your friends, how you would really

:01:54. > :01:54.like the support to be for

:01:55. > :02:04.And perhaps if you have a few hours a month, or a week, or

:02:05. > :02:06.something you can do to enhance the journey

:02:07. > :02:14.As our population ages, dementia will touch more lives than ever

:02:15. > :02:25.before, but it can be tackled side-by-side.

:02:46. > :02:52.They wanted to improve community spirits and challenge what they call

:02:53. > :02:58.We are trying to change the image that Islam has at the moment,

:02:59. > :03:01.which is obviously a very negative one, and we have only got a small

:03:02. > :03:05.minority that are ruining this image and we have so many Muslims that

:03:06. > :03:06.live peacefully and engage with their society

:03:07. > :03:10.We are all coming together in such a simple task

:03:11. > :03:19.It was a dramatic end to the year for three of our sides

:03:20. > :03:22.Sheffield United start 2017 on a real high
