:00:22. > :00:23.The flock near Settle is being culled and a 3km

:00:24. > :00:25.protection zone is in place around the infected premises.

:00:26. > :00:35.The clean-up is underway in Hanlith, near Malham.

:00:36. > :00:43.This is where the bird flu outbreak happened.

:00:44. > :00:45.And this is where authorities want it to stop.

:00:46. > :00:47.Ducks and chickens on this property are being culled.

:00:48. > :00:51.This is not an outbreak that has taken place on a farm, in fact,

:00:52. > :00:54.a lot of the farms around here don't even keep hens.

:00:55. > :00:57.This is a small flock of chickens and ducks in somebody's garden.

:00:58. > :00:59.What I understand has happened, although they didn't

:01:00. > :01:02.want to speak to us today, is that two of the chickens have

:01:03. > :01:04.died, they have gone to the vet about it,

:01:05. > :01:07.and that is when they discovered it was H-5N8 avian flu.

:01:08. > :01:10.That's the same strain that has been found in two other

:01:11. > :01:13.This one in Lincolnshire and another in Wales.

:01:14. > :01:15.Public Health England says there is no risk to humans,

:01:16. > :01:17.a message people in Malhamdale are keen to put across.

:01:18. > :01:20.It really only affects poultry, so Malhamdale is completely open,

:01:21. > :01:22.it is open to walkers, visitors, anybody can pass through,

:01:23. > :01:30.just do not bring you poultry, don't bring your chickens.

:01:31. > :01:34.For anyone else keeping hens, this news remains awkward, though.

:01:35. > :01:38.They are in the hut here, not very happy.

:01:39. > :01:42.We were told to keep them in for a month.

:01:43. > :01:45.I feel sorry for the hens. They would like to be out.

:01:46. > :01:50.Instead of cooped up in a little hut.

:01:51. > :01:52.You would think with an outbreak being so near,

:01:53. > :01:54.whether they will cull them all around here, I don't know.

:01:55. > :01:57.We'll have to wait and see what happens.

:01:58. > :02:00.The UK's chief veterinary officer has called on all poultry owners

:02:01. > :02:02.to take precautions to stop the outbreak from spreading and

:02:03. > :02:13.Hundreds of people gathered in Sheffield today to stage another

:02:14. > :02:16.protest over trees being felled in the city.

:02:17. > :02:18.Campaigners joined yellow ribbons around the town hall

:02:19. > :02:21.to express their anger at plans to reduce the number of trees

:02:22. > :02:27.The council says if trees are decaying or dangerous they need

:02:28. > :02:30.to be cut down and that thousands more will be planted.
