:00:11. > :00:14.It's one of the most important celebrations in the Sikh faith,

:00:15. > :00:22.Amid great ceremony and pounding drums, the procession begins.

:00:23. > :00:25.Vaisakhi is one of the most important festivals

:00:26. > :00:36.It marks the Sikh New Year and commemorates the birth

:00:37. > :00:39.The Sikth faith is all about equality, so anyone can come,

:00:40. > :00:43.any gender, any race, any religion can come, get involved,

:00:44. > :00:49.And we do genuinely promote it to all the communities.

:00:50. > :00:52.We ask everyone to come down and take part of the celebration,

:00:53. > :00:55.because that is what being a true Sikh is about, spreading the message

:00:56. > :01:03.Hundreds of people began the march at the Sikh

:01:04. > :01:06.temple in Chapeltown and, by the time it came to Leeds city

:01:07. > :01:12.The procession covered the entire length of the Headrow and Eastgate,

:01:13. > :01:15.before finishing up in Millennium Square.

:01:16. > :01:20.It's a celebration of family and combining each religion.
