:00:24. > :00:32.That spot just across the road might look like rural bliss right now,

:00:33. > :00:37.but it could soon be a building site.

:00:38. > :00:40.Locals obviously aren't happy about that and Historic England have

:00:41. > :00:43.gone so far as to write to Leeds City Council three times,

:00:44. > :00:45.urging them not to let anything be built here.

:00:46. > :00:48.The problem for them is its proximity to this historic site.

:00:49. > :00:54.Its Grade I listed, the oldest in Leeds,

:00:55. > :00:58.and even a spot where the Duchess of Cambridge's parents were married.

:00:59. > :01:02.But for this young family, building here would be more

:01:03. > :01:11.Our lives would change forever, because even now, sitting here,

:01:12. > :01:14.the views in front of the church will change forever.

:01:15. > :01:19.Historic England have said quite clearly that building so close

:01:20. > :01:22.to this church in a rural setting like this is going to cause

:01:23. > :01:35.Leeds City Council say they took into consideration the views

:01:36. > :01:38.of locals and of Historic England, but, on balance, they decided

:01:39. > :01:42.The problem for the council is they need to build houses -

:01:43. > :01:44.more than 60,000 in the next 16 years.

:01:45. > :01:46.But many say building expensive houses here isn't the answer.

:01:47. > :01:49.I, like a large percentage of the population of Adel,

:01:50. > :02:00.This should be preserved as it has been for the last 1,000 years.

:02:01. > :02:02.But in the planning battle, there can only be one winner,

:02:03. > :02:05.and with the council facing pressure to build more houses than ever,

:02:06. > :02:10.locals are hoping this beauty point won't become the latest casualty.

:03:42. > :03:47.It's everything Jo was about and I know Jo went into politics,

:03:55. > :04:08.Lots of events are being planned to celebrate her life and dreams.
