:00:50. > :00:53.At first light, this remarkable piece of railway theatre began.

:01:09. > :01:10.York and Edinburgh, and a classic high-speed train from the '70s,

:01:11. > :01:13.running in parallel along a section of the East Coast Mainline.

:01:18. > :01:21.Along the line, stops were made for the crowds of onlookers

:01:22. > :01:27.Meanwhile, at York station, just down the line, thousands

:01:28. > :01:33.were waiting for their chance to see history unfolding.

:01:34. > :01:35.There's not been anything remotely like it since the 1930s.

:02:27. > :02:34.Irfan Waheed died from a single stab wound to his chest.
