:00:00. > :00:08.One, it's time for the news where you

:00:09. > :00:12.Good Evening. The Mid`staffordshire Nhs Trust Will

:00:13. > :00:16.Be Dissolved With Stafford And Cannock Hospitals Being Run By Other

:00:17. > :00:20.Trusts. It Comes Following Concerns Over The Standard Of Care And

:00:21. > :00:23.Financial Problems At Mid Staffs. Some Services Will Be Downgraded,

:00:24. > :00:25.But Today It Was Announced That Stafford Could Retain Its

:00:26. > :00:26.Consultant`led Maternity Department. Our Health Correspondent Michele

:00:27. > :01:03.Paduano Reports. We can only pray as Stafford to be

:01:04. > :01:13.fair. Instead they are hoping to open some more beds, but then David

:01:14. > :01:20.Cameron dropped a bombshell. We are hoping that A can continue at

:01:21. > :01:29.Stafford. We are hoping that we can have a consultant led maternity

:01:30. > :01:38.department. This was a cautious welcome. It is not there yet. We

:01:39. > :01:42.need to wait and see what happens. Cannock hospital will be taken over

:01:43. > :01:48.by Wolverhampton and the mid Staffordshire NHS Trust will be

:01:49. > :01:52.diesel. They have been to demonstrations, the largest 50,000.

:01:53. > :02:03.The majority of people in Stafford still want their services. We would

:02:04. > :02:10.like it to stay as it is. It is not good that it is going to be passed

:02:11. > :02:14.over. I am quite disappointed. It is not quite clear what the

:02:15. > :02:23.announcement around maternity means, but what is clear is there may be

:02:24. > :02:28.more concessions. Politicians always get nervous around hospitals. Today

:02:29. > :02:35.marks the end of an organisation so it industry could be `` linked with

:02:36. > :02:38.bad health care. Joining us now from Westminster is

:02:39. > :02:42.the Conservative MP for Stafford Jeremy Lefroy. Mr Lefroy, now that

:02:43. > :02:51.we know what's happening with the Trust, what's the timescale to get

:02:52. > :02:56.things back on track? Clearly the trust is being dissolved. The

:02:57. > :02:59.announcement from the secretary of state said it should happen as soon

:03:00. > :03:08.as possible and it is important to do that. At the same time, NHS

:03:09. > :03:11.England are trying to preserve the consultant led maternity services. I

:03:12. > :03:18.would very much welcome that because these are services we have fought

:03:19. > :03:26.for over the last year. It is a lot to them where we were a year ago,

:03:27. > :03:32.but we must continue the battle. Will there ever become a time when

:03:33. > :03:43.RFID hospital is not under scrutiny? There will be. `` Stafford Hospital.

:03:44. > :03:48.It is one of the top regional hospitals now. It is a place that

:03:49. > :03:55.really has improved greatly. What we need to do is seek confidence in the

:03:56. > :04:00.future with the hospital coming together with Stoke. More people

:04:01. > :04:07.will be attracted to work there. We must also address this question of

:04:08. > :04:11.the consultant led maternity unit. Thank you very much.

:04:12. > :04:14.Police have been given an extra five days to continue questioning a

:04:15. > :04:17.former Guantanamo Bay detainee who was arrested along with two men and

:04:18. > :04:19.a woman on suspicion of Syria`related terrorism offences.

:04:20. > :04:26.45`year`old Moazzam Begg of Hall Green in Birmingham is suspected of

:04:27. > :04:29.attending a terrorist training camp. 1,000 tenants in Shropshire have

:04:30. > :04:32.been invited to swap their homes with each other. People deemed to be

:04:33. > :04:35.living in under`occupied or overcrowded homes have met up to see

:04:36. > :04:38.if it would be beneficial to move into each other's properties. It

:04:39. > :04:50.could help householders to avoid paying the bedroom tax.

:04:51. > :04:57.There are 15,000 properties available to rent in Shropshire's

:04:58. > :05:02.Council's area. But many people feel they are not living in the right

:05:03. > :05:08.accommodation. This woman has spent eight years trying to get off of an

:05:09. > :05:14.estate she did not like. Now she has finally got a property she likes. I

:05:15. > :05:19.went into the council offices begging them to move me, but their

:05:20. > :05:28.hands were tied. You need to have so many different qualifying criteria

:05:29. > :05:32.to move. This event is almost like speed dating. People are hoping to

:05:33. > :05:42.be matched up with someone else's home. We want to put people in touch

:05:43. > :05:48.with other people who want to swap properties. This family have

:05:49. > :05:56.outgrown their house on something smaller. People are struggling with

:05:57. > :06:04.one or two bedrooms and we have three. They probably could do with

:06:05. > :06:10.an upgrade. This is a way of people avoiding the bedroom tax. If they

:06:11. > :06:15.have an extra bedroom, they face a cut in their housing benefits.

:06:16. > :06:18.Manufacturing has been in decline in the region recently, but things are

:06:19. > :06:22.looking up. Tomorrow night, join Nick and Mary at 6.30pm for a

:06:23. > :06:31.special programme looking at more than 100 products made in the

:06:32. > :06:40.Midlands. That is all from the late team. We are back tomorrow morning.

:06:41. > :06:45.Now the weather. After what has been a pleasant day

:06:46. > :06:52.we have a wet night to come. It is this and of rain that will work its

:06:53. > :06:57.way in. We are expecting up to ten millilitres of rain. The cloud will

:06:58. > :07:06.build ahead of the rain, which is moving quite thickly. Temperatures

:07:07. > :07:11.will not fall away too far with lows of five or six Celsius. Tomorrow,

:07:12. > :07:16.that band of rainbow clear away and it will be a pleasant start to the

:07:17. > :07:22.day. Still a few showers here and there. It will be quite blustery in

:07:23. > :07:29.the afternoon with temperatures between eight and nine degrees. The

:07:30. > :07:30.National forecast is on the way. I will leave you with an outlook for

:07:31. > :07:34.the next few days. day on Friday, wet snow around and a

:07:35. > :07:39.breeze blowing as well. Tricky into the weekend. And now we have the

:07:40. > :07:44.national forecast. Good evening. We know it has been a

:07:45. > :07:50.wet winter but it has also been mild and across England and Wales,

:07:51. > :07:55.lacking in snow. The last day of the season which we measure on Friday,

:07:56. > :07:59.might provide a bit of it. Friday's weather is coming from the small

:08:00. > :08:01.area of low pressure. These tiny
