:00:00. > :00:07.effort to put people off smoking. That is all from the BBC

:00:08. > :00:13.Hello and welcome to Midlands Today. The headlines tonight:

:00:14. > :00:18.Claims that terrorist views are promoted in a school assembly are

:00:19. > :00:21.denied. Pupils have said thdy have not heard any such things. We know

:00:22. > :00:27.from our internal investigations that these allegations are false.

:00:28. > :00:31.We will be hearing what it hs really like inside one of the schools in

:00:32. > :00:34.questions. Smog causes more problems over

:00:35. > :00:39.Birmingham and many parts of the region. Had problems breathhng last

:00:40. > :00:48.week, but I went to my GP. H got help, but still I'm having problems.

:00:49. > :00:52.The controversial badger cull will start again in Gloucestershhre.

:00:53. > :00:57.Help us protect our stunning landscape. A bid for Lotterx cash.

:00:58. > :01:00.If you are under the weather, struggling for breath, join me

:01:01. > :01:12.later. There is good news. There could be relief on the way.

:01:13. > :01:26.Good evening. The school at the centre of allegations of Muslim

:01:27. > :01:31.extremism have denied claims that extremism. It follows claimdd about

:01:32. > :01:36.a plot to take over the leadership of targeted schools. Tonight, a

:01:37. > :01:40.letter has been sent to every headteacher in the city warning that

:01:41. > :01:47.children have a right to a broad and balanced education.

:01:48. > :01:51.A dozen schools in Birmingh`m are being investigated over alldgations

:01:52. > :01:58.of extremism. Today, the BBC revealed claims that the politics of

:01:59. > :02:04.Al`Qaeda had been discussed during one school assembly.

:02:05. > :02:09.This man was killed by the Americans. He called on western

:02:10. > :02:14.Muslims to attack their own countries. It is claimed th`t his

:02:15. > :02:21.views were promoted at the school according to two unnamed sotrces,

:02:22. > :02:26.but Park View's governor defended the school on all news outldts. It

:02:27. > :02:30.is completely false. That khnd of thing would not happen in otr school

:02:31. > :02:34.and has not happened in our school either. So these allegations as well

:02:35. > :02:41.as many others that have bedn made actually, they are without, they are

:02:42. > :02:48.anonymous. As investigations widen into the plot to allegedly replace

:02:49. > :02:53.moderate school leaders with hardliners, one MP called for swift

:02:54. > :02:58.action. What is needed tor Ofsted to get their report on the desk of

:02:59. > :03:03.Michael Gove, so that we can take whatever decisions are needdd.

:03:04. > :03:07.The school has previously h`d an outstanding reputation, takhng

:03:08. > :03:14.children fr one of the most deprived areas in the country and producing

:03:15. > :03:17.excellent exam results. In terms of the school, it is doing brilliantly

:03:18. > :03:22.and the children are doing really well and excelling. The most

:03:23. > :03:26.important thing is we do well in our GCSEs. It is a fantastic school

:03:27. > :03:33.What's it like inside? One BBC reporter was allowed past the gates.

:03:34. > :03:38.What did stand out was that the girls were in one part of the

:03:39. > :03:42.classroom and the boys were clustered in another part. The

:03:43. > :03:48.school says that's not deliberate and the children prefer to work like

:03:49. > :03:52.that. I went inside other academy. The leader of Birmingham City

:03:53. > :03:56.Council has written to everx headteacher outlining his

:03:57. > :04:00.determination that all children in the city should receive a broad and

:04:01. > :04:06.balanced education. Clearly, the Trojan horse agenda

:04:07. > :04:12.unnerves heads like me and to have a letter saying that Sir Albert will

:04:13. > :04:18.not tolerate governance that is all about anything but standards is xa I

:04:19. > :04:23.need to hear `` what I need to hear. Liam Nolan is a good friend of his

:04:24. > :04:29.counterpart, Lynnsy Clarke, who is due to retire this Easter. There is

:04:30. > :04:32.a brilliant headteacher in our city and has really seen that school come

:04:33. > :04:36.from difficult challenging circumstances and made it one of the

:04:37. > :04:41.best, not just in Birminghal, but in our country and as a headte`cher,

:04:42. > :04:46.when I first became a head hn Birmingham who was supportive of me.

:04:47. > :04:52.The leadership of Birminghal City Council refuses to go on calera and

:04:53. > :04:56.answer questions about the Trojan horse investigations, but they have

:04:57. > :05:00.said their silence should not be misconstrued and that they `re

:05:01. > :05:08.resolute and committed to ddaling with these matters.

:05:09. > :05:13.Coming up later: David Cameron says Birmingh`m

:05:14. > :05:15.Airport's runway extension hs a sign of confidence and will bring

:05:16. > :05:31.thousands of new jobs. Pollution got worse in parts of the

:05:32. > :05:34.region today with West Midl`nds ambulance service dealing whth a

:05:35. > :05:37.surge in calls because of breathing problems. Yesterday on a ten point

:05:38. > :05:40.scale used to determine risk, pollution levels were around six

:05:41. > :05:44.which is described as moder`te. Today they'd gone up to sevdn and

:05:45. > :05:47.more ` that's in the high c`tegory although still below peaks reached

:05:48. > :05:51.in London. Here's Giles Latcham The spires of Worcester lost in the

:05:52. > :05:55.murk. The BT tower in Birmingham barely visible in a pall of mist

:05:56. > :05:58.made up partly say experts of particles of dust or other

:05:59. > :06:04.pollutants. So were the runners and walkers out for their consthtutional

:06:05. > :06:09.feeling the effect? I noticdd my throat feeling bad and my whfe is

:06:10. > :06:13.feeling her eyes are bad. So the answer is yes. I haven't bedn

:06:14. > :06:16.running for the past few daxs and started today and I'm reallx

:06:17. > :06:24.noticing it. A heavy chest when I started off. Only a stuffy nose but

:06:25. > :06:31.that was yesterday and it h`s cleared up. Carsten Skjoth forecasts

:06:32. > :06:34.pollen counts and measuring the catkins on silver birch treds helps

:06:35. > :06:37.him do it. He says the factors behind the high pollution ldvels are

:06:38. > :06:43.not in themselves unusual ` it's that they've all come together. It

:06:44. > :06:46.is common to have a high amount of gases and pollen at the samd time

:06:47. > :06:51.because it is the same thing that creates these things, but h`ving

:06:52. > :06:57.lots of particles, sand all the way from The Sahara, this is untsual.

:06:58. > :07:04.Ian Jenkinson from Newcastld under Lyme has been asthmatic since

:07:05. > :07:08.childhood. His symptoms this week have been the worst ever ap`rt from

:07:09. > :07:12.a trip to Beijing two years ago He says we're failing to get to grips

:07:13. > :07:14.with high levels of pollution. Plainly it is something we can do

:07:15. > :07:17.something about. I'm led to believe that China used to have cle`n

:07:18. > :07:20.atmosphere, it has got a very, very polluted atmosphere. So unldss you

:07:21. > :07:28.manage these problems, you can fall into that situation quickly.

:07:29. > :07:33.The UK has the highest rate of asthma in Europe, a condition

:07:34. > :07:36.exacerbated by air pollution. At a hospital in Birmingham they've

:07:37. > :07:41.pioneered the use of a ten second breath test to help treat asthma

:07:42. > :07:48.patients across the NHS. It is a really useful tool to help with the

:07:49. > :07:51.diagnosis of asthma, but with the management of asthma. It is less

:07:52. > :07:55.physically demanding for thd patients to use this machind.

:07:56. > :08:00.The long`term effect of pollution on human allergies is still not fully

:08:01. > :08:02.understood. In the short`term it's wind and rain which will cldar the

:08:03. > :08:12.air. So still a lot of problems.

:08:13. > :08:16.Will this be the last of it, do you reckon? Well, Giles just mentioned

:08:17. > :08:19.that we need wind and rain. Well, change in wind and rain as well and

:08:20. > :08:23.we are going to see that by tomorrow. You can make out the smog

:08:24. > :08:27.around me at the moment, but as we have heard there, is due to several

:08:28. > :08:31.days of light south easterlhes. By tomorrow, that situation is to

:08:32. > :08:35.change to light south`westerlies and we are going to see rain tonight

:08:36. > :08:38.which should help matters. Ht is not uncommon to see highly levels of

:08:39. > :08:43.pollution across the UK throughout the year as for the Saharan dust

:08:44. > :08:47.that can be blown our way sdveral times. It is just that the weather

:08:48. > :08:51.has conspired to keep it hanging over us.

:08:52. > :08:55.The badger cull in Gloucestdrshire will continue despite a highly

:08:56. > :08:58.critical report which says protesters were put at risk from

:08:59. > :09:02.near misses. The independent report says the cull using rivals was not

:09:03. > :09:08.humane and was not as effective as it should have been.

:09:09. > :09:18.What's been the Government's reaction to this report then, David?

:09:19. > :09:21.Well, Owen Paterson the Farling Minister says lessons will have to

:09:22. > :09:23.be learnt. The four year culls in

:09:24. > :09:26.Gloucestershire and Somerset are pilots and we always said that we

:09:27. > :09:32.would learn lessons from thdm and it is crucial we get this right. And

:09:33. > :09:35.that is why we're taking a responsible approa accepting

:09:36. > :09:40.recommendations from experts to make the pilots better, doing nothing is

:09:41. > :09:45.not an option. Well, with me is Drew, an anti`cull

:09:46. > :09:49.protestor. First of all, ne`r misses. When you are out protesting,

:09:50. > :09:55.bass there a danger you could have got in the way? There was a danger,

:09:56. > :09:58.yeah. Several of my colleagtes where there when shots were fired near

:09:59. > :10:03.them which is contrary to the licence. Another of my colldagues

:10:04. > :10:08.found live rounds on a footpath The Government is saying today, Owen

:10:09. > :10:13.Paterson is delaying the roll out, but he is planning to go ahdad with

:10:14. > :10:17.it and in the pilot zones you have three years of culling to go? Three

:10:18. > :10:23.years left. The fact that wd are rolling out when they failed so

:10:24. > :10:26.miserably in a pilot, it didn't meet its objectives, but we will be there

:10:27. > :10:29.to make sure it doesn't go `head this time. Wh support have xou got?

:10:30. > :10:34.The support has been growing more and more. Last year we had 400 and

:10:35. > :10:40.500 people saying they would be out with us. This year, there is upwards

:10:41. > :10:44.of 2,000 people saying they want to stop this. They are spending

:10:45. > :10:50.millions compensating farmers for catting that contracted TB? They are

:10:51. > :10:54.dealing with it in Wales, they are using vaccination and it is working

:10:55. > :11:02.there. It could work here as well. All we need to do is go thehr way.

:11:03. > :11:08.The Government said it will look at increased vaccination of badgers. I

:11:09. > :11:12.understand there will be an announcement about that in ` few

:11:13. > :11:19.weeks about extra cash for farmers to help them vaccinate badgdrs on

:11:20. > :11:44.their land. More reaction tonight in tonight's 10.25pm bulletin.

:11:45. > :11:46.The husband who stranged his wife `` strangled his wife has been

:11:47. > :11:51.sentenced. A charity leased its three

:11:52. > :11:58.helicopters. The service will be able to extend its winter flying

:11:59. > :12:01.hours to 12 a day. The aircraft cost ?4.5 million, but the charity's

:12:02. > :12:05.Chief Executive says it will save money in the long run. It whll

:12:06. > :12:09.enable us to reduce our overheads which means we can thereford

:12:10. > :12:13.reinvest that money into our clinical service and into bdtter

:12:14. > :12:35.equipping our aircraft. So ht will keep us safe for the long`tdrm.

:12:36. > :12:39.David Cameron has rejected suggestions that Birmingham Airport

:12:40. > :12:42.is being overlooked in the Government's long`term strategy for

:12:43. > :12:46.UK aviation. The Prime Minister came to the airport to see the ndw ? 4

:12:47. > :12:51.million runway extension whhch is due to be completed next month. He

:12:52. > :12:56.was talking to our political editor, Patrick Burns. It is not thd 40

:12:57. > :13:02.meters of added runway nor the ,000 miles of added nonstop flying it

:13:03. > :13:05.enables. It is the 4,000 jobs around the airport that brought thd Prime

:13:06. > :13:09.Minister here with the same number again promised for the surrounding

:13:10. > :13:14.economy. But no mention of Birmingham in the Budget whdn

:13:15. > :13:18.regional airports were awarded a new subsidy. Proposals for a second

:13:19. > :13:25.runway here had already been cold shouldered in the Davis Comlission's

:13:26. > :13:31.interim aviation strategy. H think Birmingham Airport has huge

:13:32. > :13:35.opportunities. Howard Davis recognised that his report. With the

:13:36. > :13:39.extended runway that could go up to 36 million. The opportunitids for

:13:40. > :13:44.more flights, more trade, more business, more jobs is therd. Now

:13:45. > :13:49.comes claims from Heathrow @irport that its expansion plans offer the

:13:50. > :13:53.best deal for areas like ours, but managers here remain bullish. The

:13:54. > :14:00.thing that will change Birmhngham's future is the local economy. With

:14:01. > :14:05.Jaguar Land Rover and Rolls`Royce and JCB, people investing in this

:14:06. > :14:11.community will make this air property work. `` airport work. The

:14:12. > :14:18.runway development is due for completion next month, just in time

:14:19. > :14:22.for the step change in Birmhngham's long haul capacity. It comes at an

:14:23. > :14:26.interesting moment for Birmhngham Airport with the new runway and new

:14:27. > :14:30.services direct to China and Bangladesh about to test deland

:14:31. > :14:45.Politics, well that's always important in airport development,

:14:46. > :14:52.but market, they are decisive. Nothing causes more problems.

:14:53. > :14:56.The Grand National favouritd, his famous owner and how the de`l to buy

:14:57. > :15:07.him was done after more than a few drinks!

:15:08. > :15:16.The cast of Westside Story lake a surprise visit to a school.

:15:17. > :15:28.Peak interest rate attracts ten million visitors a year.

:15:29. > :15:33.People living in the Staffordshire moorlands worry they don't get the

:15:34. > :15:41.financial help to maintain such a wonderful landscape.

:15:42. > :15:46.It is one of the wildest landscapes we have in the Midlands. Thd

:15:47. > :15:53.Staffordshire moorlands can look dramatic on a foggy day. A decline

:15:54. > :15:57.in farming leaves some wonddring if its rural charm can last forever? It

:15:58. > :16:01.is at a tipping point. We think we are at a point where we either

:16:02. > :16:08.intervene now or we lose wh`t is left of the values in the l`ndscape.

:16:09. > :16:21.We have seen 35% of dairy hdrds go out of business in the last 15

:16:22. > :16:29.years. That's an impact. Environmental groups have joined

:16:30. > :16:33.together to bid. Local farmdr Sheila, wants to use some of the

:16:34. > :16:39.money to bring the patchwork of field barns back into use. She is so

:16:40. > :16:43.passionate, she produce add photographic book `` producdd a

:16:44. > :16:49.photographic book detailing each one. There is so many of thdm to be

:16:50. > :16:54.kept in a weather proof, re`sonable condition for the landscape value,

:16:55. > :17:00.the social history value and wildlife. There is a lot of

:17:01. > :17:04.wildlife, especially birds, using these to live in. The childness is

:17:05. > :17:15.part of this countryside's charm. It needs people if its charactdr is to

:17:16. > :17:23.be maintained. If skills ard lost, traditional features will crumble

:17:24. > :17:33.and disappear. If the bid is successful apprentices

:17:34. > :17:39.will be trained up. It is really important we don't lose

:17:40. > :17:43.the skills. Apprenticeships will get people to stay in the area, to value

:17:44. > :17:47.the area and for people to care for it in future as well.

:17:48. > :17:54.Country lovers are invited to contract their ideas on the Peaks

:17:55. > :17:59.preservation. Ideas which m`y stop this area being abandoned in years

:18:00. > :18:08.to come. Sport now. Dan is here with news of

:18:09. > :18:11.a massive setback for Aston Villa. The Villa striker Christian Benteke

:18:12. > :18:14.could miss the rest of the Premier League season and the World Cup

:18:15. > :18:19.because of injury. The Belghan has damaged his achilles tendon in

:18:20. > :18:28.training. He will miss the World Cup and the start of next season.

:18:29. > :18:32.The New One, trained in the Cotswolds by Nigel Twiston`Davies

:18:33. > :18:34.and ridden by his son Sam, gained compensation for his unluckx third

:18:35. > :18:41.in Cheltenham's Champion Hurdle by winning today's Aintree Hurdle. But

:18:42. > :18:45.it was close. The New One whth the red silks hit the front just before

:18:46. > :18:49.the final fence but had to work hard to win the race by a head from Rock

:18:50. > :18:52.On Ruby. But after the disappointment of Cheltenhal this

:18:53. > :18:58.meant a lot to the trainer `nd the owners. So what about Saturday's

:18:59. > :19:03.Grand National? Could it be won by the best mistake Mike Tindall's ever

:19:04. > :19:06.made? When the rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall got carried away

:19:07. > :19:10.at an auction he spent ?12,000 on a horse he knew nothing about. But

:19:11. > :19:13.four years later Monbeg Dudd has proved a winner for his owndrs who

:19:14. > :19:16.include Gloucester team matd James Simpson`Daniel. And on Saturday the

:19:17. > :19:27.horse is among the favouritds in the National. What a ride it has been

:19:28. > :19:31.for trainer Michael Scudamore and for the owners. What were you

:19:32. > :19:39.thinking in the aftermath of that hammer going down? I was hoping the

:19:40. > :19:43.hammer didn't go down! The aftermath was how can I mitigate

:19:44. > :19:50.these costs? I didn't want ht on my own. Monbeg Dude has done nothing

:19:51. > :19:54.but delight, he won at Cheltenham and the Welsh National. He has been

:19:55. > :19:58.a special horse and dream for us. And people use the word it hs a

:19:59. > :20:02.dream story, but it really hs. We can't hide for that. We bought a

:20:03. > :20:05.horse for next to nothing in comparison to what a lot of people

:20:06. > :20:08.spend on them. We didn't know anything about it and we had the

:20:09. > :20:12.most amazing time with them this last several years.

:20:13. > :20:16.This is a small stable with just 20 horses, but throw in a couple of

:20:17. > :20:20.rugby players with a Grand National entry and look at the interdst. The

:20:21. > :20:28.Scudamore family have a long association with Aintree and the

:20:29. > :20:34.Grand National. Michael Scudamore senior won the

:20:35. > :20:37.1959 national. His son Peter and grandson Tom haven't managed to win

:20:38. > :20:45.it as jockeys. Now his own grandson, Michael, will try as a trainer. We

:20:46. > :20:51.probably had one go since 1859. There has been a Scudamore name

:20:52. > :20:58.associated with grandad ridhng. It is time one of us put it right.

:20:59. > :21:04.He is a hands on trainer. Hd washes them too. Michael is one of the

:21:05. > :21:20.owners and they are all hophng Monbeg Dude is one part of ` winning

:21:21. > :21:23.national team. Hereford United are less th`n

:21:24. > :21:27.?20,000 away from raising the money they need to avoid a winding up

:21:28. > :21:30.order next week. Fans from clubs all over the country have made donations

:21:31. > :21:39.to help the Bulls pay off an unpaid tax bill of 78 thousand pounds.

:21:40. > :21:49.Almost almost ?20,000 has bden raised by The comedian Omid Djalili.

:21:50. > :21:52.Although he's a Chelsea fan he's donating the proceeds of two shows

:21:53. > :21:58.in Hereford on Sunday to thdir fighting fund. They need ?300,0 0 to

:21:59. > :22:01.get them through the summer and by Monday the players have been unpaid

:22:02. > :22:06.for half of February and all of March. Still long`term problems If

:22:07. > :22:10.there is a little silver lining the next two Saturdays, they ard at

:22:11. > :22:15.home. Last Saturday, just over ,500 fans were there. That's good for

:22:16. > :22:19.them. That's very good. If they had 2,000 all season, they wouldn't be

:22:20. > :22:24.in this mess. It is all abott momentum, but at least therd is

:22:25. > :22:27.hope. This time last week, there didn't seem to be. I think

:22:28. > :22:32.communities in times of trotble pull together. Sports clubs are

:22:33. > :22:37.community, aren't they? Absolutely. It is why people I spoke to in the

:22:38. > :22:38.streets of Hereford, who don't care about football, but they care about

:22:39. > :22:47.this. It represents their chty. Five years ago, Sinead Kennx was

:22:48. > :22:53.performing to a few hundred people in her school's musical. We reckon

:22:54. > :22:57.she must have been pretty good because in the years since, she s

:22:58. > :23:00.been treading the boards in front of thousands in the revival of the

:23:01. > :23:04.Broadway and West End smash 'West Side Story'. And she made good on a

:23:05. > :23:09.promise to go back to her old school, as her show now opens in

:23:10. > :23:15.Birmingham. Here's Ben Godfrey. It's a classic story of love and honour

:23:16. > :23:20.in 1950s New York. West Sidd Story is a streetwise and savvy Romeo and

:23:21. > :23:34.Juliet. Now it's reached Birmingham on its UK tour.and there's `

:23:35. > :23:37.homecoming for a rising star. Sinead Kenny plays the fiesty Constelo a

:23:38. > :23:40.tough Puerto Rican girl with bleached blonde hair. She's also

:23:41. > :23:45.understudy to the leading role of Anita. I was confident and focussed.

:23:46. > :23:48.It is a hard process. But as long as you stay determined and foctssed and

:23:49. > :23:58.you believe that you can do it, then you can do it.

:23:59. > :24:05.The 23`year`old was invited back to Arthur Terry School where she caught

:24:06. > :24:13.the performing bug at the age of 16. It is all very strange. It hs like

:24:14. > :24:19.it is fate. When she came to us at sixth form,

:24:20. > :24:26.she had one goal and that w`s to be successful.

:24:27. > :24:30.Sinead enjoyed ballet and t`p from the age of four. Her parents took

:24:31. > :24:36.her to classes around the Mhdlands. My dad a massive fan.

:24:37. > :24:41.Fellow cast members joined her this morning to inspire performing arts

:24:42. > :24:45.students. It really inspired me to do the same. I'm determined to

:24:46. > :24:50.succeed in what I want to do because of being inspired by them.

:24:51. > :24:52.Sinead Kenny is performing `t the New Alexandra Theatre until April

:24:53. > :25:07.19th. Let's get the weather now.

:25:08. > :25:11.I'm surrounded by smog. The levels of pollution have been high across

:25:12. > :25:15.the Midlands Today, but for urban areas, if you ventured out of towns

:25:16. > :25:19.and cities, the levels have been moderate. The levels are set to

:25:20. > :25:23.drop. They are set to drop by tomorrow and that's because we need

:25:24. > :25:26.the winds to change direction and then to pick up as well and for us

:25:27. > :25:31.to get rain and we're getting all three in the coming days and it is

:25:32. > :25:36.not often I say that's good news, but it is. We can see what hmpetus

:25:37. > :25:41.for that is. We have got a cold front wriggling across the region.

:25:42. > :25:44.That is going to make a difference once it moved to the north. It will

:25:45. > :25:48.switch the direction from a south easterly to a south`westerlx that's

:25:49. > :25:52.going to draw in much cleardr and cleaner air from off the Atlantic.

:25:53. > :25:55.There are a couple of systels that are lurking to the south`west that

:25:56. > :25:59.are going to be heading our way over the weekend and that's going to

:26:00. > :26:03.bring extra rain. Let's get back to this first frontal system that's

:26:04. > :26:07.over us right now and you c`n see that's producing a bit of hdavy rain

:26:08. > :26:12.across Wales. The fortunate thing is by the time it heads our wax, it

:26:13. > :26:17.will fragmentks but there is `` fragment, but there will be heavy

:26:18. > :26:20.bursts embedded in that. We are looking at showery outbreaks of

:26:21. > :26:24.rain. Elsewhere, it is cloudy. It is dry and where we get the brdaks in

:26:25. > :26:29.the cloud, we are looking at mist and fog and low level cloud as well

:26:30. > :26:33.developing. Temperatures on the mild side, down to about nine to ten

:26:34. > :26:36.Celsius. Then for tomorrow, well that rain should be out of the way.

:26:37. > :26:40.We are looking at cloudy conditions. We are looking at sunny spells as

:26:41. > :26:46.well and temperatures rising to about 15 Celsius.

:26:47. > :26:51.Tomorrow night, nothing really changes. It is going to be cloudy,

:26:52. > :26:55.but dry. Just a few showers dotted about the place. We have another

:26:56. > :27:00.warm sector heading up from the south`west. It will be cloudy, but

:27:01. > :27:04.dry on Saturday and then we have got rain spreading in from the west As

:27:05. > :27:07.for Sunday, well we are looking at another band of rain as well. Again

:27:08. > :27:12.heading up from the south`wdst with stronger winds.

:27:13. > :27:17.Branding on cigarette packets in the UK is set to be banned to m`ke them

:27:18. > :27:22.less appealing to the young. The families of the 96 Liverpool

:27:23. > :27:26.fans who died at Hillsborough begin personal tributes at their hnquests.

:27:27. > :27:29.Claims that terrorist views are promoted a school assembly hn

:27:30. > :27:32.Birmingham are denied. Smog causes more problems over

:27:33. > :27:36.Birmingham and many other p`rts of the region.

:27:37. > :27:43.That was the Midlands Today. I will be back at 10pm.

:27:44. > :27:48.Bye for now.
