:00:12. > :00:19.heart surgeon has been sackdd from a Birmingham hospital for sublitting

:00:20. > :00:22.incorrect data. Ian Wilson hs said to have consistently under`reported

:00:23. > :00:25.the amount of time patients spent with their heart stopped on a

:00:26. > :00:28.by`pass machine. But the spdcialist is now working again under

:00:29. > :00:30.supervision at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton. Our Health

:00:31. > :00:36.Correspondent, Michele Padu`no, has this exclusive report. In 2008,

:00:37. > :00:39.having saved the life of thhs young mother, Ian Wilson was being

:00:40. > :00:43.celebrated, but the surgeon seen here on the right has now bden

:00:44. > :00:45.sacked from his job at the Pueen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

:00:46. > :00:47.The BBC understands that thd hospital began a routine

:00:48. > :00:51.investigation which was triggered automatically as a result of death

:00:52. > :00:54.rates. Whilst undergoing he`rt surgery, patients have their heart

:00:55. > :01:00.stopped and they are placed on a machine which circulates thd blood.

:01:01. > :01:03.I understand that an investhgation by the QE Hospital found th`t Mr

:01:04. > :01:07.Wilson had been under reporting the amount of time his patients had

:01:08. > :01:13.spent on by pass since 2006 and in one case by up to an hour. The

:01:17. > :01:20.potential risk of complicathons or even death, academic studies have

:01:21. > :01:23.shown. However, Mr Wilson's dismissal is understood to relate to

:01:24. > :01:28.concerns about issues of trtst and is not said to reflect upon his

:01:29. > :01:31.ability as a surgeon. The Gdneral Medical Council has made an order

:01:32. > :01:38.pending further investigations which stops him from doing privatd

:01:39. > :01:42.practice. Forces him to nothfy them if he applies for a job abroad.

:01:43. > :01:46.Means he can only work in the NHS under supervision pending those

:01:47. > :01:49.investigations. New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton has employdd him

:01:50. > :01:59.under supervision in accord`nce with the GMC's position whilst it

:02:00. > :02:03.investigates the matter. He is here to be skilled to return to practice

:02:04. > :02:06.in line with the GMC. I havd no knowledge of whatever conduct issues

:02:07. > :02:11.there were with previous employer and as I say he is here for three

:02:12. > :02:14.months and at the end of th`t three months, he will be fit to rdturn to

:02:15. > :02:18.work. I have discussed this with a number of people in this

:02:19. > :02:20.organisation and we don't h`ve any concerns about his clinical

:02:21. > :02:23.practice. Mr Wilson did not wish to comment. The BBC understands the is

:02:24. > :02:26.planning to challenge his dhsmissal at an employment tribunal.

:02:27. > :02:29.Tributes have been paid to Dr Muhammed Naseem, one of the

:03:12. > :03:16.The Labour MP Khalid Mahmood is calling for a single enquirx into

:03:17. > :03:18.the alleged Trojan Horse plot in Birmingham schools. Three sdparate

:03:22. > :03:25.have been launched to look hnto the claims that hardline Muslims are

:03:26. > :03:28.trying to take over schools in the city. Mr Mahmood has told the BBC he
