:00:09. > :00:10.Good evening. Police have launched a direction.

:00:11. > :00:14.Good evening. Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man and woman

:00:15. > :00:17.were found stabbed to death at a house in Walsall. Officers were

:00:18. > :00:20.called to the house in Hollemeadow Avenue in the Blakenall area early

:00:21. > :00:24.this morning where they found the bodies of a 32`year`old man and a

:00:25. > :00:27.29`year`old woman. Police say they are believed to be former partners.

:00:28. > :00:31.Three girls aged between seven and 11 were found sleeping at the house

:00:32. > :00:34.and were unharmed. A 19`year`old man was arrested at the scene on

:00:35. > :00:43.suspicion of murder. Neighbours said it was a shocking thing to have

:00:44. > :00:47.happened. My first reaction was busy that I was scared because I have

:00:48. > :00:50.small children. It is literally on our doorstep. When you hear that

:00:51. > :00:54.there is children at the home as well, it is upsetting.

:00:55. > :00:57.The BBC has learned that senior council officials in Birmingham have

:00:58. > :01:01.seen no evidence of an alleged plot by Islamic extremists to take

:01:02. > :01:03.control of schools. More than 20 schools are under investigation

:01:04. > :01:07.following allegations of the "Trojan Horse" plot. Council officers told

:01:08. > :01:10.teachers and governors at a meeting earlier this week that the problems

:01:11. > :01:12.were more to do with governance and leadership.

:01:13. > :01:15.A leading environmental group has questioned Birmingham City Council's

:01:16. > :01:20.new policy of charging people ?35 a year to remove their garden waste.

:01:21. > :01:25.Friends of the Earth say it would have been better to encourage more

:01:26. > :01:28.home composting instead. Green waste is being dumped on the streets by

:01:29. > :01:33.people who are trying to avoid the new charge. Louisa Currie reports.

:01:34. > :01:35.Composted or recycled. The only options for this environmental

:01:36. > :01:40.campaigner who says he throws out just one bag of household waste a

:01:41. > :01:44.year. He says the Council system doesn't make sense. What the council

:01:45. > :01:48.should be doing is working out what the ultimate destination of all this

:01:49. > :01:51.garden waste should be and planning backwards to set up a system that

:01:52. > :01:57.actually delivers it in the right way. I'm afraid they don't really

:01:58. > :02:01.seem to have a green waste plan, which they should do. For many, the

:02:02. > :02:04.garden waste is piling up and as the row continues, the number of dumped

:02:05. > :02:10.bags lining the streets of Birmingham is only getting bigger.

:02:11. > :02:15.It seems a bit much to me. I don't think that's right, no. I think it

:02:16. > :02:20.should be part of your council tax, they should take your waste away.

:02:21. > :02:22.Not very happy with this. You get charged for everything, nowadays.

:02:23. > :02:26.Birmingham City Council says it will only collect garden waste from

:02:27. > :02:32.people who've paid the ?35 fee and left it in the correct branded

:02:33. > :02:37.sacks. So far more than 39,000 households have signed up to the

:02:38. > :02:42.scheme. But that's still just a fraction of the citys 410,000

:02:43. > :02:45.households. People who continue to dump waste are being warned they

:02:46. > :02:52.could face fines of several thousand pounds.

:02:53. > :02:57.It's been a day of celebration in Stafford as the town marks 400 years

:02:58. > :03:00.since its first mayor took office. The occasion was marked by a parade

:03:01. > :03:03.including Army, Navy and RAF personnel overseen by the new Mayor

:03:04. > :03:07.of Stafford, Councillor Ray Sutherland. He said he was proud to

:03:08. > :03:18.hold the office in such a significant year. It is an honour to

:03:19. > :03:20.be mayor at any time but on this 400 anniversary it is extra special. I

:03:21. > :03:28.am looking forward to actually joining the crowds on the mayor's

:03:29. > :03:31.Sunday which is going on at the moment. It is a wonderful year for

:03:32. > :03:34.the borough and it will be an extra special year for me.

:03:35. > :03:37.Gloucestershire's new Jet Age Museum has been officially opened 14 years

:03:38. > :03:40.after the previous one was closed. The museum's collection of aircraft

:03:41. > :03:43.has been in storage since 2000, but a fundraising campaign by volunteers

:03:44. > :03:47.has resulted in a permanent display being re`established at

:03:48. > :03:50.Gloucestershire Airport. The museum houses delicate aircraft, such as a

:03:51. > :03:55.1925 Gloucester Gamecock, and contains an archive of photos and

:03:56. > :03:59.documents. Just one rugby result to bring you,

:04:00. > :04:02.in the Premiership. Worcester ` already relegated ` managed their

:04:03. > :04:05.first premiership home win of the season, beating Gloucester by just

:04:06. > :04:07.one point. Time for a look at the Midlands

:04:08. > :04:19.weather now. Well, a very blustery day today. The

:04:20. > :04:24.second half of the weekend remained that way. It will feel quite cool

:04:25. > :04:29.tomorrow. There should be some sunshine in between their showers.

:04:30. > :04:31.They continue this evening, with the wind strengthening further across

:04:32. > :04:36.parts of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Tomorrow morning,

:04:37. > :04:41.the showers start again to form. There will be brightness in between

:04:42. > :04:47.but it will be another blustery day and cooler as well.

:04:48. > :04:50.The national forecast is next. Good luck to Burton Albion who face

:04:51. > :04:56.Southend in the League 2 play`offs tomorrow. We'll have highlights in

:04:57. > :04:59.our 6:50pm bulletin tomorrow. I'll be back tomorrow morning with Sunday

:05:00. > :05:00.Breakfast on BBC Hereford and Worcester from 7am. Have a good

:05:01. > :05:15.evening. Good evening. We have seen plenty of

:05:16. > :05:21.showers scattered across the country today. There will be drier and

:05:22. > :05:24.brighter spells in between. Low pressure is sitting across the

:05:25. > :05:29.country, with some tightly packed isobars to the south. That indicates

:05:30. > :05:34.some strong winds. They will continue throughout the night, going

:05:35. > :05:39.up to gale force at times. The main focus of the wettest weather across

:05:40. > :05:46.parts of West Wales is this rain. It will not be a particularly cold

:05:47. > :05:49.start to Sunday. Showers, not everywhere, some of us will see

:05:50. > :05:53.drier weather weather window of sunshine around, but be prepared for

:05:54. > :05:57.those showers if you're stepping out in the morning. Throughout the day

:05:58. > :05:58.on Sunday, a bit of
