:00:14. > :00:17.serviceman who died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan last month.

:00:18. > :00:21.Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas, who was 26, grew up and went to school

:00:22. > :00:31.in Kington. This afternoon, hundreds of mourners turned out to remember

:00:32. > :00:34.him. Yvonne Brissett reports. Honoured in the town where he spent

:00:35. > :00:37.his childhood. Those who couldn't get into the packed St Mary's church

:00:38. > :00:41.in Kington this afternoon listened to the service outside as they

:00:42. > :00:50.gathered to give thanks for the life of Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas.

:00:51. > :00:56.Oliver lived his life to the full. There was never a dull moment when

:00:57. > :01:00.Oliver was around. He was a lovely, kind gentleman. It was clear that

:01:01. > :01:02.when you spoke to those who came into contact with him how much they

:01:03. > :01:05.warmed to his presence. Inside the church, moving tributes to the

:01:06. > :01:08.26`year`old army reservist who'd told his family he was fulfilling

:01:09. > :01:11.his dreams by serving his country. Lance Corporal Thomas was one of

:01:12. > :01:13.five servicemen killed in the helicopter crash in Kandahar last

:01:14. > :01:18.month. Flight Lieutenant Rakesh Chauhan from Birmingham also died.

:01:19. > :01:22.The Ministry of Defence has said it believes the crash was a tragic

:01:23. > :01:25.accident. His family held a private cremation service yesterday, but

:01:26. > :01:34.wanted to give the wider community a chance to come together and

:01:35. > :01:38.celebrate Oliver's life. He was a very caring and genuinely caring

:01:39. > :01:41.person for everybody. A fitting recognition for a young man
