:01:30. > :01:33.year is facing closure. It hs in a part of inner`city Birmingh`m with

:01:36. > :01:38.The school specialises in trying to help pupils get jobs in the
:01:39. > :01:40.hospitality business. The government's decision to pull
:01:41. > :01:43.the plug comes just weeks bdfore the main holidays, leaving pupils facing
:01:44. > :01:46.a summer of uncertainty. To us it looks like a kitchdn. To
:01:47. > :01:48.these students, it is a classroom and all the ingredients are coming
:01:49. > :01:51.together to make Kajans Hospitality and Catering Studio College what
:01:52. > :01:53.they want to be ` a centre of excellence.
:01:54. > :02:02.Their new home in Aston in Birmingham is undergoing renovation,
:02:03. > :02:04.thanks to ?2.5 million cash injection from central government.
:02:05. > :02:15.No wonder then they are dev`stated that the government is pullhng the
:02:16. > :02:31.. But the issues where, we have dealt with. It is acceptabld.
:02:32. > :02:41.Students like Lorraine Dug`rd are wondering where they will go.
:02:42. > :02:46.We are hopeful that will not shut down, but we very sad.
:02:47. > :02:49.The school has 48 students `nd the Department of Education say it is
:02:50. > :02:52.not attracting enough new ones. They told us, "We have been working
:02:53. > :02:55.extremely closely with them for a number of months and have rdpeatedly
:02:56. > :02:58.made clear that there were concerns about the school's viabilitx due to
:02:59. > :03:00.low pupil numbers." A new principal stepped in six weeks
:03:01. > :03:03.ago. He says the situation has changed, with new students signing
:03:04. > :03:05.up all the time. A lot of anger about the Department
:03:06. > :03:08.of Education's decision comds from the fact that unemployment `mong
:03:09. > :03:11.young people in this area is at 60% and the hope was that this place
:03:12. > :03:14.would help address that by giving them skills to get jobs in
:03:15. > :03:16.Birmingham in the city's thriving hospitality and catering industry.
:03:17. > :03:19.And Birmingham City Council say they are helping find places for the
:03:20. > :03:34.students at other schools and colleges in the city.
:03:35. > :03:41.A lot of the anger about thd decision is the fact that the
:03:42. > :03:50.college lies within an area of very high unemployment. We have defined a
:03:51. > :04:01.new way, but we will continte to support them and community.
:04:02. > :04:03.Birmingham City Council say they will find places for the sttdents
:04:04. > :04:08.are other colleges within the city. Cath is outside the school now.
:04:09. > :04:12.You said in your report that the the school had ?2.5 million spent on
:04:13. > :04:22.it. What has happened to th`t money? It has all been spent. We could have
:04:23. > :04:28.a situation in September of where we have a college which is alrdady but
:04:29. > :04:37.no students. What is going to happen in September? The decision `s a
:04:38. > :04:48.shock to all others. It has caused a lot of stress and anxiety. They
:04:49. > :04:56.have, maybe you have a 15`ydar`old coming to you ten, if I get to the
:04:57. > :05:05.is appealing? As far as I al is appealing? As far as I al
:05:06. > :05:12.concerned, his education is being disrupted. This decision to withdraw
:05:13. > :05:18.the funding is totally unacceptable. They could've explore other options,
:05:19. > :05:27.but they chose not to. This comes down to numbers? They do have a
:05:28. > :05:33.point and that was on the 1st of April. Since moving to this
:05:34. > :05:39.building, we have exceeded the target these sit for hours. The
:05:40. > :05:45.maximum we can have is 45 and we were well underway to hitting the
:05:46. > :05:50.target, so it is very confusing and upsetting. Thank you very mtch.

:06:10. > :06:12.Three men have been jailed for a fraud running into millions of
:06:13. > :06:14.pounds. Their business, Spa`Serve, began selling hot tubs back in 007.
:06:15. > :06:17.But 400 customers failed to receive them and hundreds more were fobbed
:06:18. > :06:21.off with cheaper items. The business went bankrupt in 2010. Then, a joint
:06:22. > :06:24.police and trading standards investigation saw fraud charges
:06:25. > :06:39.Simon Foster, Jonathan Hussdlbee and Stuart Cox ` all convicted of fraud
:06:40. > :06:43.for their part in a business selling hot tubs. It was described by the
:06:44. > :06:44.judge as a "wholly dishonest venture".
:06:45. > :06:46.Police began investigating `fter complaints from hundreds of
:06:47. > :06:57.customers across the UK. Kay Waterman now has a hot tub, from
:06:58. > :07:12.The money flowed in, but it did not go to help satisfy the orders, but
:07:13. > :07:15.simply to satisfy their lifdstyles. These people of course a lot of
:07:16. > :07:21.misery for many years. Not just financial, but psychological misery.
:07:22. > :07:26.That has gone on since 2004. The hot tubs were advertised on the
:07:27. > :07:29.internet, using various trading names.
:07:30. > :07:31.But far from being fantastic, in fact, hot tubs were deliverdd late `
:07:32. > :07:33.or not at all. And customers were lied to `bout
:07:34. > :07:37.where they came from. They were sold as being made in the United States.
:07:38. > :07:44.In fact, they were from China. When problems emerged, some
:07:45. > :07:50.customers descended to protdst at the business? depot in Rugeley.
:07:51. > :07:53.Foster was the leading light of the fraud. He took at least ?900,00 . He
:07:54. > :07:56.lived a lavish lifestyle, whth three Porshes. Customers who had been at
:07:57. > :07:59.court welcomed the jail terls handed down by the judge.
:08:00. > :08:15.When the business eventuallx I came down from Yorkshire. I would
:08:16. > :08:22.have travelled thousands of labels to hear that verdict. If I do not do
:08:23. > :08:26.the work, I do not get paid. They were not doing any work and they
