:00:32. > :00:53.To these students, it's a classroom, and all the ingredients are coming
:00:54. > :00:55.together to make Kajans Hospitality and Catering Studio College what
:00:56. > :00:57.they want to be ` a centre of excellence.
:00:58. > :01:00.Their new home in Aston in Birmingham is undergoing renovation
:01:01. > :01:02.thanks to a ?2.5 million cash injection from central Government.
:01:03. > :01:04.No wonder then they're devastated that the Government's pulling
:01:05. > :01:08.We are angry because this is the only college in Birmingham which
:01:09. > :01:12.offers a vocation or educathon in catering for 14`19 `year`olds. If it
:01:13. > :01:16.closes, that opportunity will be taken away from all the students in
:01:17. > :01:21.that age range and it is nowhere else they can do it.
:01:22. > :01:26.Students like Lorraine Dugard are wondering where they'll go.
:01:27. > :01:29.Were all close`knit and lovd it here and hopefully it will not shut down.

:01:34. > :01:36.Department of Education says it s They told us, we have been working
:01:37. > :01:42.extremely closely with them for a number of months and have
:01:43. > :01:45.repeatedly made clear that there were concerns about the school's
:01:46. > :01:53.viability due to low pupil numbers. If I get to the end of this summer
:01:54. > :01:58.term and we cannot find a place what do I do as a parent? As far as
:01:59. > :02:03.I am concerned, my child's dducation is being disrupted unnecess`rily by
:02:04. > :02:04.the decision that has been lade to withdraw the funding and th`t is
:02:05. > :02:11.totally unacceptable. A lot of anger about the Department
:02:12. > :02:14.of Education's decision comds from the fact that unemployment `mong
:02:15. > :02:17.young people in this area is at 60%, and the hope was that this place
:02:18. > :02:20.would help address that by giving them skills to get jobs in
:02:21. > :02:27.Birmingham in the city's thriving Our big agenda is that this is a
:02:28. > :02:31.skills shortage and 60% unelployment in parts of the community. We cannot
:02:32. > :02:35.continue to do what we have done. We have to find new ways. This for the
:02:36. > :02:38.new way but we will consider to `` continue to support them and what
:02:39. > :02:41.with the community to see what comes next.
:02:42. > :02:44.And Birmingham City Council say they're helping find places
:02:45. > :02:46.for the students at other schools and colleges in the city.
:02:47. > :02:48.Three men have been jailed for a fraud running
:02:49. > :02:52.Their business, Spaserve, bdgan selling hot tubs back in 2007.
:02:53. > :02:55.But 400 customers failed to receive them and hundreds more were
:02:56. > :03:02.Fraud charges followed two years later.
:03:03. > :03:07.Simon Foster, Jonathan Hussdlbee and Stuart Cox ` all convicted
