:00:17. > :00:19.theft has seen the biggest drop in the crime anywhere in the country.

:00:20. > :00:22.Last year the Sandwell area saw a 76% fall in the theft of metal.

:00:23. > :00:25.Police there have also become the first in the West Midlands to

:00:26. > :00:27.enforce new legislation regulating scrap metal dealers.

:00:28. > :00:32.With all this metal around, it's easy to see why this company

:00:33. > :00:35.in Bilston was a prime target for thieves.

:00:36. > :00:38.In 2011, a break`in cost the business tens

:00:39. > :00:41.of thousands of pounds, but since laws have been tightened

:00:42. > :00:52.on the sale of scrap metal, things have significantly improved.

:00:53. > :00:56.We haven't seen any major events where we've been targeted

:00:57. > :01:04.Major changes to the law, including the banning of cash payments and

:01:05. > :01:06.proof of the seller's identity, mean thefts have dropped dramatically

:01:07. > :01:09.across the West Midlands, with Sandwell seeing incidents fall last

:01:10. > :01:11.year by more than three`quarters, the best anywhere in the country.

:01:12. > :01:15.You'd be surprised how many people are happy to go into a scrapyard

:01:16. > :01:17.and give their photographic identification and try to sell them

:01:18. > :01:19.stolen metal, thinking they will never get caught.

:01:20. > :01:22.At this scrap metal business in Dudley, the new law means things

:01:23. > :01:27.Until just two years ago, this is how customers used to get paid.

:01:28. > :01:30.Money was put in here, it was sent through these tubes and they

:01:31. > :01:38.But due to the changes in law, everything is now done by computer,

:01:39. > :01:42.In fact, this system has become so successful,

:01:43. > :01:53.We are not a backward industry.

:01:54. > :01:56.We feel we have really come to the forefront of modern business.

:01:57. > :01:59.Police say they'll continue to work closely with the scrap metal trade

:02:00. > :02:01.and any firm found flouting the new law will risk losing

:02:02. > :02:07.The Birmingham teenager and education campaigner

:02:08. > :02:09.Malala Yousafzai is in Nigeria to meet the families of

:02:10. > :02:14.Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban

:02:15. > :02:18.in her native Pakistan in 2012. After being treated in Birmingham,

:02:19. > :02:21.she became a campaigner for girls' education.

:02:22. > :02:25.It's three months since the Nigerian girls were abducted by the militant

:02:26. > :02:32.A thousand Morgan car owners descended on the company's factory

:02:33. > :02:36.in Worcestershire today to celebrate the 100th year of production there.

:02:46. > :02:50.for the Morgan Motor Company enjoy a picturesque journey to work.

:02:53. > :02:57.in this setting, with a car for every year of production on show.

:02:58. > :02:59.She was registered in September 1914.

:03:12. > :03:13.Roger Orford bought his 1925 Morgan for ?25.

:03:14. > :03:17.I used to drive it from home in Stourbridge, the town I lived in, to

:03:18. > :03:22.the technical college when I was 16 with another schoolmate in the front

:03:23. > :03:26.and if we were lucky we would bring two girls back from school at night.

:03:27. > :03:28.Over the years, the cars have developed, although

:03:29. > :03:33.And this is the latest model, a centenary special edition,

:03:34. > :03:43.Only 60 have been built and they cost ?70,000.

:03:44. > :03:45.Jill Price's grandfather Harry made the first Morgan

:03:46. > :03:48.for the simple reason that he was fed up of cycling to work.

:03:49. > :03:52.He made this little three`wheeler runabout and

:03:53. > :03:58.his sister Dot liked it so much, she thought, "Could you make me one?"

:03:59. > :04:04.So he made her one and then he started production after that.

:04:05. > :04:08.Little did Harry Morgan know that years later, so many enthusiasts

:04:09. > :04:16.would descend on his factory to celebrate what he started.
