:00:00. > :00:17.A return to the Ricoh Arena after more than one year playing hn

:00:18. > :00:23.Northampton. It is fair on dveryone and fair on council taxpayers and

:00:24. > :00:27.everyone connected. Fans call it a clear victory for common sense. Also

:00:28. > :00:36.tonight: After one year of tribulation, jubilation. A school

:00:37. > :00:44.celebrates strong GCSE results. They have supported us in every way that

:00:45. > :00:49.they can really. Find out why these three snakes are so rare dud to a

:00:50. > :00:59.miraculous virgin birth. A secret garden made public. The det`ils for

:01:00. > :01:01.the bank holiday weekend, not long to go now but prospects are already

:01:02. > :01:10.changing. Good evening,

:01:11. > :01:11.Coventry City Football Club is returning home ` they'll pl`y

:01:12. > :01:14.their first match back at the Ricoh The Sky Blues have been using

:01:15. > :01:19.Northampton's ground for thd past Coventry City was founded in 18 3,

:01:20. > :01:28.but only moved to the Ricoh Arena in 2005 `

:01:29. > :01:30.when the club agreed to pay around Our Sports Editor Nick Clitheroe is

:01:31. > :01:36.outside the stadium tonight, so Nick this has been a long drawn

:01:37. > :01:54.out process, but was it a strprise I think more than a surprisd. It is

:01:55. > :01:58.a relief for all concerned. It has gone on so long and has takdn up so

:01:59. > :02:06.much energy and emotion particularly for their passionate supporters For

:02:07. > :02:07.the past 12 months, these f`ns have been forced to give up their

:02:08. > :02:11.Saturday afternoon ritual. Furious at the team being uprooted

:02:12. > :02:14.to Northampton they preferrdd to protest on the hill outside than

:02:15. > :02:16.pass through the turnstiles. But on the 5th

:02:17. > :02:19.of September they will finally get the chance to watch the Sky Blues

:02:20. > :02:21.play in Coventry again. I get all these frustrations

:02:22. > :02:24.and the anger and everything that I've got their points

:02:25. > :02:28.and their views, just it was not I apologise sincerely for everything

:02:29. > :02:33.that I may have inflicted on them but as I say, that hs done,

:02:34. > :02:39.I cannot turn the clock back. I can apologise

:02:40. > :02:41.but it is where we are now. It's a row which has blightdd

:02:42. > :02:44.Coventry for the past two ydars The club's owners SISU stopped

:02:45. > :02:47.paying rent on the Ricoh Ardna in March 2012 claiming it w`s far

:02:48. > :02:51.too high. Then in March 2013 SISU put the part

:02:52. > :02:57.of the club which was the official Two months later Coventry Chty

:02:58. > :03:03.announced they had no futurd at the Ricoh

:03:04. > :03:07.and began the move to North`mpton. Now

:03:08. > :03:09.though the Sky Blues are coling back after weeks of talks with stadium

:03:10. > :03:13.owners Arena Coventry Limitdd. What I can say is that it is fair

:03:14. > :03:16.on everyone and it is fair on the council taxpayers

:03:17. > :03:18.and everyone connected. This is a deal just that will really

:03:19. > :03:25.benefit the city of Coventrx With the deal for a maximum of four

:03:26. > :03:30.years it's clear that, long`term, Coventry City still want to move but

:03:31. > :03:34.for now at least the fans whll be able to come down off the hhll

:03:35. > :03:51.again. Joining mean our the leaders of the

:03:52. > :03:58.Council. You're taking up a lot of time in court action and also the

:03:59. > :04:01.council has had lot of crithcism. It is an enormous relief and it is

:04:02. > :04:06.important now that we go forward in a positive approach to having the

:04:07. > :04:10.football club playing back `t the Ricoh Arena. It is good for the club

:04:11. > :04:15.and it is good for the Ricoh Arena and it is good for the city of

:04:16. > :04:19.Coventry as a whole. It doesn't reflect well not study, plaxing

:04:20. > :04:23.here? It has been a very difficult time but I think it is important put

:04:24. > :04:31.the past binders and work together to make sure the football club is

:04:32. > :04:37.back yet. `` the past behind us I think we've all got to get behind

:04:38. > :04:41.him now and sure that Coventry City football club goes back up the

:04:42. > :04:45.league table. There is still uncertainty. What guarantees are

:04:46. > :04:49.there that the deal will sthck this time? There are no guaranteds to

:04:50. > :04:52.anything in life but what I can tell you is that over the course of the

:04:53. > :04:59.past 48 hours in particular, parties and for the football club, for the

:05:00. > :05:02.Ricoh Arena, for ACL, have been involved in negotiations th`t have

:05:03. > :05:06.been incredibly complex and demanding and I want to takd this

:05:07. > :05:19.opportunity to pay to get to those people who have been involvdd. Those

:05:20. > :05:23.from the football club and @CL. It has been difficult for the fans

:05:24. > :05:27.have released you tonight? Ht is an enormous relief. The losers have

:05:28. > :05:31.been the supporters. All thdy wanted to do all along its watch their team

:05:32. > :05:35.played here at the Ricoh Ardna in their city. This is our homd and now

:05:36. > :05:38.thank goodness we will be playing here come September the 5th and

:05:39. > :05:43.hopefully we'll have a great crowd here and onwards and upwards we will

:05:44. > :05:48.go. Hopefully our days therd will not be too much longer and we will

:05:49. > :05:51.start moving where we should be I imagine you are looking forward to

:05:52. > :05:55.that state. It will be spechal to everyone involved, the supporters

:05:56. > :05:56.and the players, to see the club playing back here at the Ricoh

:05:57. > :06:04.Arena. A very windy Ricoh Arena And there will be more reaction to

:06:05. > :06:06.the return of Coventry City to the Ricoh Arena

:06:07. > :06:09.on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire's A community in limbo ` businesses in

:06:10. > :06:16.decline as a suburb waits tdn years And ready to get stuck into the

:06:17. > :06:20.Premier League, we hear frol Aston Students

:06:21. > :06:26.across the Midlands have bedn collecting their GCSE results today

:06:27. > :06:29.`joy for some, not for the others. But the BBC has been told that

:06:30. > :06:32.at least two Birmingham schools at the centre of the Trojan Horse

:06:33. > :06:35.Investigation have seen sharp drops Park View and Golden Hillock

:06:36. > :06:43.schools, which are run by the Park View Educational Trust,

:06:44. > :06:45.were put into special measures Exam periods can be

:06:46. > :06:53.a difficult time. But pupils at some schools had to do

:06:54. > :06:57.them under a national spotlhght Back in June, OFSTED placed five

:06:58. > :07:00.Birmingham schools into special measures, following allegathons of

:07:01. > :07:04.a conservative Muslim agend` being Today pupils have been nervously

:07:05. > :07:10.collecting their GCSE results, I wanted to do A`levels

:07:11. > :07:17.at college but because I did not get my English grade now I will have to

:07:18. > :07:21.do another course and I do not really want to do that so I am

:07:22. > :07:25.really disappointed about that. But how much is

:07:26. > :07:28.down to the disruption causdd People when they came out

:07:29. > :07:54.of their exams they were like, like, because of all the camdras

:07:55. > :07:56.outside, they couldn't focus on An immense amount of pressure,

:07:57. > :08:00.but the end of the day we all came out on top and got

:08:01. > :08:03.the grades that we expected to get. The school is amazing

:08:04. > :08:05.when it comes to academic stuff Staff here say 57 percent of pupils

:08:06. > :08:10.were predicted five A* to C grades. Only five percent

:08:11. > :08:12.of them achieved it. That is compared to last ye`r

:08:13. > :08:15.when predictions were spot on. Early indications from Park View

:08:16. > :08:18.is that the drop in results there Schools were under

:08:19. > :08:20.constant scrutiny. OFSTED,

:08:21. > :08:21.EFA and the two investigations. The leadership focus was shhfted not

:08:22. > :08:24.from education but on dealing with the issue and I do believe that has

:08:25. > :08:27.played a significant part None of the schools downgraded over

:08:28. > :08:31.Trojan Horse have officiallx posted Many staff and parents are hoping

:08:32. > :08:35.they are the last reminder But even without

:08:36. > :08:40.the media spotlight on your school, it's still an anxious time

:08:41. > :08:43.for pupils and teachers. Our Staffordshire reporter

:08:44. > :08:46.Liz Copper has been to one school determined to see

:08:47. > :08:48.an improvement after being placed Jubliation and celebration

:08:49. > :08:59.at Birches Head Academy in Stoke But this year's also seen

:09:00. > :09:03.tribulation, with the school going into special

:09:04. > :09:07.measures at the end of last year. Nevertheless, some students have

:09:08. > :09:09.excelled ` Emillie Corden got 9 I think when you sit an exal you

:09:10. > :09:18.have so much doubt and you do not think that you done really well in

:09:19. > :09:22.it but I am so happy that I did it. The school's seen an improvdment

:09:23. > :09:25.in the number of students gdtting I wanted to prove that I was better

:09:26. > :09:31.than what happened last year and that I was smart enough to get

:09:32. > :09:52.what I wanted. It has been really tough dohng extra

:09:53. > :09:57.tuition. I put in extra hours after school.

:09:58. > :09:59.As this year's students pick up their results,

:10:00. > :10:02.already the school's looking at the areas where inspectors want

:10:03. > :10:05.Of course OFSTED inspectors look at much more than

:10:06. > :10:07.Teaching standards, pupils' attitudes to learning

:10:08. > :10:10.and parents' opinions will be looked at the next time the inspectors

:10:11. > :10:16.It is an emotional push, and passion to make sure th`t you

:10:17. > :10:23.But you manage that so that you don't need leavd

:10:24. > :10:30.These students know their achievements have been

:10:31. > :10:34.It's hoped this year's results will help this school successfully come

:10:35. > :10:41.out of special measures in the year ahead.

:10:42. > :10:43.Campaigners opposed to badgdr culling resuming in Gloucestershire

:10:44. > :10:46.and Somerset have taken their case to the High Court.

:10:47. > :10:48.The Badger Trust says the Government's failure to appoint

:10:49. > :10:50.an independent panel to oversee the culling is unlawful.

:10:51. > :10:54.It also claims last year's pilot was ineffective, and inhumane.

:10:55. > :11:00.The government insists the cull is based on scientific advice `

:11:01. > :11:06.and is one of a number of mdasures being taken to tackle bovind TB

:11:07. > :11:09.The wreckage of a coach which crashed in France two years ago `

:11:10. > :11:12.killing a Worcestershire te`cher and injuring 20 children ` has been

:11:13. > :11:16.The crash happened as they were returning from

:11:17. > :11:30.The English driver is due to stand trial for involuntary mansl`ughter.

:11:31. > :11:33.Voting is taking place todax to elect a new Police and Crimd

:11:34. > :11:36.Four candidates are standing for the post.

:11:37. > :11:38.The result will be announced tomorrow.

:11:39. > :11:40.West Midlands Police have rdleased a video

:11:41. > :11:43.of the moment two traffic officers drove head`on into a car tr`velling

:11:44. > :11:47.The Honda`Jazz was being drhven by a 77`year`old man with ddmentia.

:11:48. > :11:59.It was spotted heading northbound into on`coming traffic near

:12:00. > :12:03.Sutton Coldfield ` and desphte enforcing a rolling road block,

:12:04. > :12:20.officers decided the only w`y to stop the car was to drive into it.

:12:21. > :12:21.Thankfully, and remarkably, nobody was injured.

:12:22. > :12:23.We have put the footage on our Facebook page.

:12:24. > :12:26.Staff have been told that Stafford Hospital's maternity unit whll be

:12:27. > :12:29.downgraded in January ` before an official review of the ddcision.

:12:30. > :12:31.It will mean midwives will lead the service at Stafford `

:12:32. > :12:34.while more complicated births will take place at the Universitx

:12:35. > :12:37.Our reporter Nicola Beckford has been following today's developments.

:12:38. > :12:50.The plan was to downgrade sdrvices, maternity services and the

:12:51. > :12:58.consultant led units to a mhdwife led unit. The Health Secret`ry said

:12:59. > :13:04.he would hold a review into whether this downgrade should indeed take

:13:05. > :13:09.place and that was repeated by the Prime Minister, David Cameron. What

:13:10. > :13:15.is being proposed is good steps to make sure accident and emergency

:13:16. > :13:19.continues and to make sure we continue with consultant led

:13:20. > :13:23.maternity services. What has been the reaction to what staff have been

:13:24. > :13:26.told? Well campaigners are absolutely furious. Some of them

:13:27. > :13:31.camped outside the hospital for weeks in the cold. Obviouslx they

:13:32. > :13:35.want to keep as many local services as possible but the same thdy

:13:36. > :13:48.basically do not know what hs going on any more. We're been lied to by

:13:49. > :13:53.the top health people of thhs land. We have been let down here `nd they

:13:54. > :13:57.need to come and tell us ex`ctly what their plans are becausd we are

:13:58. > :14:02.being lied to and it has bedn going on now for too long. Has thdre been

:14:03. > :14:06.any response from the NHS? Xes. I have a statement here. They say that

:14:07. > :14:12.the review of services is planned, and is due to be settled by autumn

:14:13. > :14:16.this year. But they do out that the safety of services is essential and

:14:17. > :14:20.if they need to be changed before the review is completed, th`t the

:14:21. > :14:26.decision that the will have to make. NHS England will respdct that

:14:27. > :14:31.decision. They do go on to say that if that did happen, the revhew would

:14:32. > :14:33.instead look at how safe consultant led services could be returned to

:14:34. > :14:39.Stafford in the future. A return to the Ricoh `

:14:40. > :14:44.after more than a year playhng at Northampton, the Sky Bluds will

:14:45. > :14:46.play in Coventry again. Shefali will be along shortly with

:14:47. > :14:48.our detailed weather forecast. The secrets of one of Europd's

:14:49. > :14:52.biggest walled gardens reve`led ` open to the public

:14:53. > :15:02.for the first time. Traders in a Birmingham subtrb say

:15:03. > :15:04.their community is in decline ` because of plans for a new

:15:05. > :15:07.supermarket which have been on hold. Tesco bought the site in Sthrchley,

:15:08. > :15:09.over 10`years`ago, but building never got underway and

:15:10. > :15:14.in the meantime ` businesses and Barbara and Bob Nolan run

:15:15. > :15:25.a thriving cafe in Stirchlex. But in a week's time,

:15:26. > :15:28.it could be empty. A clause in their lease means they

:15:29. > :15:31.face having to move out to lake way for Tesco ` even though it's unclear

:15:32. > :15:36.when the store will be built. When we first got those papdrs I do

:15:37. > :15:41.not think Bob and I slept for days, And crying, continually cryhng

:15:42. > :15:51.for this whole period. Five years ago we filmed thd Nolans

:15:52. > :15:54.as they started their busindss They made it a success,

:15:55. > :16:00.but still owe ?35,000. We can't just walk out of hdre

:16:01. > :16:05.and walk into a job. Tesco have offered us ?7,500 as

:16:06. > :16:09.a gesture of goodwill but wd cannot This community centre was also sold

:16:10. > :16:15.to Tesco as part of their plans The Tesco development has bden

:16:16. > :16:17.on the books since 2001 and yet here we are in 2014

:16:18. > :16:24.and not a brick has been buhlt yet. Despite buying property, Tesco told

:16:25. > :16:27.us it hadn't yet been able to acquire all the land it needed. A

:16:28. > :16:30.spokesman said: We hope to begin demolition work

:16:31. > :16:33.in the autumn and we will update the local community as soon as we

:16:34. > :16:37.know timescales for the build. Dennis Fellows sold his kitchen shop

:16:38. > :16:42.to Tesco about 10 years ago ` He also rents another

:16:43. > :16:46.property opposite. Trade has just gone down and down

:16:47. > :16:50.and down and we had to had diversify into internet salds

:16:51. > :16:53.and trade sales, you know, the retail side of our business has

:16:54. > :16:57.dropped by at least 50 percdnt. Dennis has run his business for 50

:16:58. > :17:02.years and says he's here to stay. Unlike the Nolans ` who are fighting

:17:03. > :17:12.to remain in their cafe for longer. The arrival of three baby anacondas

:17:13. > :17:16.at West Midland safari park, is being heralded

:17:17. > :17:19.as a miraculous virgin birth. It's believed that they are

:17:20. > :17:23.the first snakes of their khnd ever to be born in captivity, without

:17:24. > :17:27.any help at all from a male. Ben Sidwell's been to meet

:17:28. > :17:31.the very rare new arrivals. This one's a female

:17:32. > :17:38.and this one is also a female. So it came as something

:17:39. > :17:43.of a surprise to keepers whdn these I was just doing my final checks,

:17:44. > :17:49.closing up the reptile housd. Got to the anaconda enclosure,

:17:50. > :17:53.actually the first thing I saw was some blood

:17:54. > :17:56.which is normally something which is And then I realised that was

:17:57. > :18:00.actually attached to The scientific name for the births

:18:01. > :18:06.is parthenogenesis, which is literally Greek for virgin birth,

:18:07. > :18:08.and occurs very rarely in fdmales Since the births,

:18:09. > :18:16.keepers have checked both of the anacondas to make sure that

:18:17. > :18:18.they really are female. And both tests have

:18:19. > :18:20.come back positive. Although there have been rulours

:18:21. > :18:24.of births like this in the past none until now have ever bedn

:18:25. > :18:29.documented anywhere in the world. This is a five metre, 50 kilogram,

:18:30. > :18:33.female. Mark has travelled the world

:18:34. > :18:37.as the reptile expert and has studied anacondas in their

:18:38. > :18:41.natural wild habitat, but even with all his knowledge and expertise

:18:42. > :18:44.this has come as a major shock. I was the first to record

:18:45. > :18:49.cannibalism in green anacondas and that was in the wild so,

:18:50. > :18:53.you know, not everything is known. We are still discovering thhngs

:18:54. > :18:59.that surprise and amaze us. For those visiting

:19:00. > :19:01.the safari park's reptile house today, news of the miraculots births

:19:02. > :19:05.have left people speechless. I think it is amazing,

:19:06. > :19:14.it is absolutely superb. The young sisters will be

:19:15. > :19:21.raised behind the scenes. It is hoped eventually they will

:19:22. > :19:24.have their own enclosure so the public can see three of

:19:25. > :19:33.the rarist anacondas in the world. The Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has

:19:34. > :19:36.praised the hunger and desire of his players after their 0`0

:19:37. > :19:38.win at Fulham last night. The only goal of

:19:39. > :19:41.the game was scored by Bakary Sako, with a cleverly worked free`kick

:19:42. > :19:47.routine in the first half. Wolves move up to ninth

:19:48. > :19:50.in the Championship. Aston Villa's new

:19:51. > :19:52.Colombian World Cup star is being tipped to make a big impression

:19:53. > :19:54.on the Premier League. Carlos Sanchez has gone str`ight

:19:55. > :19:57.into the Villa squad for Saturday's first home game of the season,

:19:58. > :19:59.against Newcastle. The Rock is ready to roll for

:20:00. > :20:06.Aston Villa. Carlos Sanchez got his nickname

:20:07. > :20:08.whilst playing in Uruguay. It followed him to France and Spain

:20:09. > :20:11.and now to England where La Roca can't wait to get stuck

:20:12. > :20:16.in to the Premier League. Everyone enjoyed watching Colombia

:20:17. > :20:19.at the World Cup finals. But Carlos Sanchez also caught

:20:20. > :20:24.the eye with his tough`tackling Exactly what Paul Lambert and

:20:25. > :20:52.Roy Keane have been looking for I think he's going to be a really

:20:53. > :20:58.top player for us. This strhker scored 62 goals in just 100 games

:20:59. > :21:06.and he just had no hesitation about recommending Carlos Sanchez. The

:21:07. > :21:12.time is right for Carlos Sanchez who is now 28 to test himself in

:21:13. > :21:16.England. Colombian football journalist has followed his career

:21:17. > :21:21.closely and believes he will adapt quickly. This is a dream cole true

:21:22. > :21:25.for him to come to the Premher League. Many want to come. They want

:21:26. > :21:40.to come to the Premier Leagte. He will be a big favourite. He chose
