:00:42. > :00:45.It's hoped events like these will make them think

:00:46. > :00:51.The main aim of today is about preventing youth violdnce

:00:52. > :00:56.coming together, commemorathng one of our great artists that's

:00:57. > :01:02.contributed a lot to the music industry within Birmingham.

:01:03. > :01:05.The organisers said they hoped the message of non`violence would

:01:06. > :01:08.connect with young people, but there were fears that a lack

:01:09. > :01:14.We have gone into schools and spoken to young people `nd had a

:01:15. > :01:17.massive postive response from that and then when you go back and say,

:01:18. > :01:22.They've just turned around `nd said, we can't afford you,

:01:23. > :01:30.His close friend and fellow artist hopes this event

:01:31. > :01:35.I hope it can give people the incentive not to be involved in

:01:36. > :01:39.those sort of things, and hd wasn't involved in that, but it's just

:01:40. > :01:43.This evening, some of Birmingham's most wdll`known

:02:39. > :02:41.attraction, but she was beaten to the finish line by a local teenager.

:02:42. > :02:47.It was a glorious morning for the inaugural Worcester Citx Run.

:02:51. > :02:57.It's a different stage of mx career, it's not really getting back to

:02:58. > :03:00.racing competitively but it's getting out and enjoying it

:03:05. > :03:09.of expectation to stop you getting up and taking part in events.

:03:13. > :03:14.showcase this fantastic, sttnning city, and what better way than

:03:15. > :03:21.While the masses made their way around the scenic course,

:03:22. > :03:24.the serious runners were approaching the finish line.

:03:25. > :03:28.Despite her injury problems, Paula Radcliffe was still expected

:03:29. > :03:32.to be the first female finisher but crossing the line ahead of her,

:03:33. > :03:35.19`year`old Jenny Nesbitt, from Worcester,

:03:36. > :03:42.I know, I can't believe it, it's amazing.

:03:43. > :03:46.I came here not having any expectations, I've never done 1 K

:03:47. > :03:49.in my life, I just thought, get around it and do as well as I could,

:03:50. > :03:52.and I got that as an outcomd, so I'm over the moon.

:03:53. > :03:56.More than 2000 runners entered this event, and thousands more

:03:57. > :04:01.It was incredible, the support, everyone shouting Batman and Robin

:04:02. > :04:04.as you're running around, it really gives you that up and go.

:04:05. > :04:07.It was getting hard at one point but everyone stuck together

:04:08. > :04:10.and the crowds were brilliant, all cheering for you, they see xour name

:04:11. > :04:14.You hit the crowds and think, I've got to keep going!

:04:15. > :04:17.After such a successful first event, the race organisers say thex're

:04:18. > :04:25.already thinking about coming back next year.

:04:26. > :04:28.The stars of the BBC historical drama Peaky Blinders

:04:29. > :04:30.were in Birmingham today for the world premiere of the

:04:31. > :04:35.The stories are based on the real`life gangsters who

:04:36. > :04:38.operated in the city following the First World W`r.

:04:39. > :04:40.Once again, the new episodes have been part shot

:04:41. > :04:45.They're due to be shown on BBC Two in October.
