:06:21. > :06:27.Time for a look at the weather now, here's Shefali.

:06:28. > :06:35.Very good evening and a happy New Year. It is as though we have been

:06:36. > :06:39.drawn out of the darkness into the light after yesterday's dull and

:06:40. > :06:44.dreary conditions. We had some brilliant blue skies. It wasn't

:06:45. > :06:50.anything but scorching today. We had a hard frost this morning.

:06:51. > :06:54.Temperatures struggled to reach for Celsius. This is how the rest of the

:06:55. > :06:59.week is panning out. It will be largely settled with some frosty

:07:00. > :07:03.nights. At the weekend, it is turning milder and unsettled. We

:07:04. > :07:07.have high pressure dominating to the west and it is minimising these

:07:08. > :07:13.weather fronts. We get more in the way of cloud tomorrow and we have

:07:14. > :07:16.brilliant blue skies. Through this evening, we have clear skies and

:07:17. > :07:24.temperatures are beginning to plummet. They will be down 2-2 C the

:07:25. > :07:30.towns and cities. In rural sheltered spots, temperatures are lower. Ahead

:07:31. > :07:34.of that weather front, a bit of cloud to the North keeping those

:07:35. > :07:38.temperatures above freezing and into tomorrow, the clouds slips

:07:39. > :07:43.southwards. There is the odd spot of rain as well. There is sunshine and

:07:44. > :07:47.further south and that frost disappear with temperatures rising

:07:48. > :07:50.to six Celsius. It will be milder tomorrow night with temperatures

:07:51. > :07:53.above freezing. Back to sunshine and blue sky for Wednesday and Thursday.

:07:54. > :08:14.Good evening. It has been turning colder and clearer and our weather

:08:15. > :08:18.watchers have been capturing the sunshine. Here is the scene in

:08:19. > :08:23.Derbyshire and where we have had the clear skies by day, we are in for a

:08:24. > :08:27.cold night tonight. Temperatures already plummeting, particularly

:08:28. > :08:30.towards the south with some icy stretches across parts of central

:08:31. > :08:35.and southern England, and into Wales. For the north-west, not as

:08:36. > :08:40.cold, as we have the cloud building. But to the south we could see

:08:41. > :08:45.temperatures down to minus four or five first thing Tuesday morning. If

:08:46. > :08:48.you have a commute back to work, bear in mind you will have to scrape

:08:49. > :08:54.the car and there could be the odd patch of mist and freezing fog. But

:08:55. > :08:56.many of us staying dry. More cloud in the north and west.
