:00:00. > 3:59:59airbase and have promised to strengthen the country's air defence

:00:00. > :00:00.systems. That is all from us. Hello, and welcome

:00:00. > :00:00.to Midlands Today. Cadbury unveils their multi million

:00:00. > :00:08.pound investment at the Bournville We've invested ?200 million overall

:00:09. > :00:16.in the UK - ?75 million in I'm live at Bournville where it's

:00:17. > :00:26.out with the old and in with new Also tonight, turning

:00:27. > :00:32.ambulances away from A Worcestershire hospitals

:00:33. > :00:34.the second worst in England - for diverting emergencies

:00:35. > :00:45.this winter. I'll have the latest from police

:00:46. > :00:47.exactly a week after a man was stabbed to death in a random attack

:00:48. > :00:48.here in Birmingham. Looking to repeat family history -

:00:49. > :00:50.Herefordshire jockey Tom Scudamore on his hopes of a winner

:00:51. > :00:53.in the Grand National. And it's been a lovely day

:00:54. > :00:56.to end the working week - more good news to come

:00:57. > :00:58.with this weekend's weather. Find out why with me

:00:59. > :01:10.in the forecast later. Details of a multi-million pound

:01:11. > :01:13.investment at the Cadbury plant New state-of-the-art production

:01:14. > :01:19.lines will help boost efficiency - and ensure the factory remains

:01:20. > :01:21.competitive with The investment comes seven years

:01:22. > :01:26.after a controversial take-over Now renamed Mondelez International,

:01:27. > :01:38.bosses say it's an investment Here's our business

:01:39. > :01:40.correspondent, Peter Plisner: Cadbury workers protesting back

:01:41. > :01:44.in 2009 against the Kraft takeover. Their main concern was

:01:45. > :01:47.the future of Bournville - a site that's made chocolate

:01:48. > :01:51.for more than a century. But far from winding it down

:01:52. > :01:53.the factory has just got a ?75 million boost with these

:01:54. > :02:02.ultra-modern new production lines. It means that daily output

:02:03. > :02:04.at Bournville has now increased to over a million Creme Eggs,

:02:05. > :02:07.five million bars of chocolate and a staggering 400

:02:08. > :02:11.million chocolate buttons. The bosses of Mondelez maintains

:02:12. > :02:14.that it's long-term investment. We've invested ?200 million

:02:15. > :02:17.overall in the UK, For employees securing these

:02:18. > :02:49.investments was not easy. Almost 240 people have left

:02:50. > :02:51.Bournville as a result of the new production lines -

:02:52. > :02:54.union's say it's been a tough Now that we are increasing our

:02:55. > :02:58.efficiencies, it makes us more competitive, so when we get

:02:59. > :03:00.new models or new varieties of different chocolate that come

:03:01. > :03:03.out, we will be up there in the pecking order

:03:04. > :03:05.to try and gain some The changes have also left some

:03:06. > :03:09.buildings at the Bournville site empty and according the Modelez that

:03:10. > :03:12.could mean additional space for it's highly popular chocolate attraction,

:03:13. > :03:14.Cadbury World. Part of the Cadbury World

:03:15. > :03:17.attraction is an insight into manufacturing and we want to make

:03:18. > :03:20.sure that's part of the experience in the long term and we are looking

:03:21. > :03:23.at plans in that space And something else that's been

:03:24. > :03:29.popular is the company's annual chocolate Egg Hunt although this

:03:30. > :03:32.year dropping the word Easter It seems like a couple of people

:03:33. > :03:37.have latched onto a specific But seen in the round,

:03:38. > :03:43.you can't possibly say anything other than Cadbury

:03:44. > :03:45.and the National Trust Proud too of the investment

:03:46. > :03:50.at Bournville which also includes a further ?6 million to set up

:03:51. > :03:55.the Centre for Chocolate Exellence - the company's global

:03:56. > :04:01.research headquarters. And Peter joins us from outside

:04:02. > :04:03.the Bournville factory now - so Bournville has had a big

:04:04. > :04:19.investment, but what about other Mondelez described their facilities

:04:20. > :04:29.as the chocolate triangle, including Bournville in Birmingham, factory in

:04:30. > :04:33.Shropshire and one in Herefordshire. They've spent around ?2 million

:04:34. > :04:38.modernising equipment. It's part of a ?200 million investment across the

:04:39. > :04:42.UK. ?75 million of that has been spent at Bournville. Of course they

:04:43. > :04:43.are committed to the continuation of supply from UK suppliers including

:04:44. > :04:45.milk farmers in Herefordshire. And with greater efficiency

:04:46. > :04:47.at Bournville, does that mean that part of the production

:04:48. > :04:49.of the Dairy Milk bar, transferred to a factory in Poland,

:04:50. > :05:03.will be coming back Yes, well, this bar is made here at

:05:04. > :05:09.Bournville, this is made in Poland. Macro Mondelez hit controversy when

:05:10. > :05:15.it was found out that things are being made in Poland. He said it was

:05:16. > :05:17.a temporary measure and he says a lot of dairy milk production will be

:05:18. > :05:18.coming back to Bournville. But not good news tonight

:05:19. > :05:30.for workers at one of the two They have announced they are

:05:31. > :05:35.consulting workers on ceasing production of a poultry processing

:05:36. > :05:38.site employing 630 people. These they say the equivalent is ageing

:05:39. > :05:42.and they have significant challenges meeting standards required by both

:05:43. > :05:45.customers and themselves. They say it is a decision they had not taken

:05:46. > :05:50.lightly, they fully understand the impact should the proposal go ahead

:05:51. > :05:53.they are offering 200 workers in other sites across the wets Midlands

:05:54. > :05:59.and other employment opportunities. They say of possible options are

:06:00. > :06:00.being explored before a final decision is made.

:06:01. > :06:01.The Trust which runs Worcestershire's hospitals turned

:06:02. > :06:05.away more ambulances this Winter than any other in England - bar one.

:06:06. > :06:07.Figures from the Nuffield Trust show the organisation closed its doors

:06:08. > :06:14.Making it the second worst performing in England.

:06:15. > :06:17.Amy Cole has been looking into this for us, this result is certainly

:06:18. > :06:21.an indicator of a Trust which was struggling.

:06:22. > :06:24.Yes, I think this report highlights the immense pressure that A

:06:25. > :06:26.departments were under during the winter months.

:06:27. > :06:30.Closing them only happens in "exceptional circumstances"

:06:31. > :06:33.and for patients trying to get treatment in Worcestershire,

:06:34. > :06:37.it meant they had to be taken to other hospitals outside the area.

:06:38. > :06:44.The Nuffield Trust says there's a complex sequence of events that

:06:45. > :06:48.We know beds are scarce, bed occupancy very high, so people going

:06:49. > :06:51.in for elective work and so on, and treatment...

:06:52. > :06:55.People go to A, some of them need to go to the hospital but

:06:56. > :06:58.can't get in, that backs up within A, then in turn that backs up onto

:06:59. > :07:02.the Ambulance Service as well who are affected by the diverts, so it

:07:03. > :07:05.is a whole series of stages and connections between different

:07:06. > :07:12.Well, as Professor Appleby mentioned there, the Ambulance Service

:07:13. > :07:16.is affected by the divert - what does that mean in real terms?

:07:17. > :07:18.It means that paramedics are unable to handover

:07:19. > :07:22.their patients and are forced to record longer delays.

:07:23. > :07:25.You also end up with a lot of ambulances out of position

:07:26. > :07:29.so they're not able to react as swiftly as they might.

:07:30. > :07:32.However, West Midlands Ambulance Service is keen to stress that's

:07:33. > :07:35.it's very much involved in the decision to divert,

:07:36. > :07:41.This is a really complex issue - it's not simply a case

:07:42. > :07:44.of the ambulance having to drive a few miles further.

:07:45. > :07:48.It does, from an operational point of view, put big pressures on us.

:07:49. > :07:51.But the important thing is that we do these things to

:07:52. > :07:57.make sure that patients are safe in the system, so we don't agree

:07:58. > :08:00.We are consulted when diverts are requested, and if

:08:01. > :08:07.we think it is unsafe for patients we will raise that as a concern.

:08:08. > :08:09.And Mr Doherty's words are reiterated by the Worcestershire

:08:10. > :08:15.It says, "On the rare occasions ambulances are diverted away -

:08:16. > :08:17.this is done with the full support of the Ambulance Service

:08:18. > :08:26.and patient safety is at always at the forefront of such decisions."

:08:27. > :08:28.A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder,

:08:29. > :08:30.following a stabbing near a tram stop in Birmingham.

:08:31. > :08:33.It's a week since 57-year-old Anthony Banting was stabbed several

:08:34. > :08:36.times, after getting off a tram at Soho Benson Road.

:08:37. > :08:40.This afternoon his family laid flowers at the scene.

:08:41. > :08:42.Louisa Currie is there for us this evening -

:08:43. > :08:52.Well, most poignantly Mr Bantings family,

:08:53. > :08:54.including his four grown-up sons, have visited the tram stop this

:08:55. > :08:57.afternoon, where he died this time last week, to lay flowers

:08:58. > :08:59.and read the other floral tributes to their father.

:09:00. > :09:03.Earlier this week, they released a statement in tribute to him -

:09:04. > :09:06.describing him as "a simple man who loved nothing more than spending

:09:07. > :09:12.He was on his way to meet one of his sons in a nearby pub,

:09:13. > :09:27.Their flowers join lots of others left by other family members and

:09:28. > :09:28.members of the community, all keen to express their condolences.

:09:29. > :09:30.It's quite shocking what has happened here.

:09:31. > :09:33.Every time it happens it does send shock waves through the community.

:09:34. > :09:36.And, importantly, what we need are answers -

:09:37. > :09:40.Are the police any nearing to understanding what happened -

:09:41. > :09:48.British Transport Police are leading the investigation and the have been

:09:49. > :09:51.carrying out anniversary checks this afternoon - in the hope of finding

:09:52. > :10:04.They revealed this afternoon they have arrested one man from the area.

:10:05. > :10:06.But they are keen to stress this is just one of many different lines of

:10:07. > :10:07.enquiry they are looking into. This is a protracted

:10:08. > :10:09.investigation, there are numerous lines of enquiries ongoing,

:10:10. > :10:12.and we still would like to speak to anybody who might have been

:10:13. > :10:14.in this area of Benson Road between four o'clock

:10:15. > :10:16.and five o'clock on Friday, or anybody who may be of help

:10:17. > :10:29.in identifying the You can see now this is the image of

:10:30. > :10:33.the man they want to trace. It is a CCTV still, and they want to trace

:10:34. > :10:36.and speak to him as soon as possible. Also, this afternoon, they

:10:37. > :10:40.have been stopping motorists and people as they come and go using the

:10:41. > :10:47.tram network to see if they were here last week, if they saw

:10:48. > :10:51.anything. At this stage people say they still believe the attack was

:10:52. > :10:53.random and that the victim did not know his attacker. Thank you.

:10:54. > :10:57.Two men have been charged with murder after a man was hit by a car

:10:58. > :11:00.26-year-old Gregory Kelly was struck by the black Audi then attacked

:11:01. > :11:08.He was taken to hospital with head injuries and died five days later.

:11:09. > :11:10.55-year-old Phillip Picken and 33-year-old Neil Barnes

:11:11. > :11:13.will appear at Warwick Crown Court next week.

:11:14. > :11:15.The Warwickshire-born actor Tim Pigott-Smith has

:11:16. > :11:21.Born in Rugby, the classically trained actor attended

:11:22. > :11:22.King Edward XI School in Stratford-upon-Avon

:11:23. > :11:25.and performed numerous times for the Royal Shakespeare Company

:11:26. > :11:30.He was also known for his film and television roles, including

:11:31. > :11:35.The Jewel in the Crown and The Remains of the Day.

:11:36. > :11:37.A woman has escaped serious injury, after her car fell more

:11:38. > :11:41.than 50 feet down a steep hillside in Herefordshire.

:11:42. > :11:44.It happened this morning on Jubillee Drive in Upper Colwall,

:11:45. > :11:48.The driver was given treatment at the scene

:11:49. > :11:51.and taken to hospital for further checks.

:11:52. > :11:56.The Green Party launched their local elections campaign this

:11:57. > :11:59.Police in Malvern are to be the first in the West Mercia Force

:12:00. > :12:03.From today, 46 officers are being equipped with the technology,

:12:04. > :12:05.with plans to roll it out to all front line staff

:12:06. > :12:09.More than ?1 million has been invested in the cameras,

:12:10. > :12:14.which police say reduces the number of complaints and provides evidence.

:12:15. > :12:17.A Birmingham mosque has been praised after it managed to raise a record

:12:18. > :12:22.breaking ?1.2 million to supply bread to starving Syrian refugees.

:12:23. > :12:25.An appeal was launched after staff from Green Lane Mosque

:12:26. > :12:27.in Small Heath travelled to refugee camps on a fact-finding mission.

:12:28. > :12:31.The money, raised in just eight months, will provide

:12:32. > :12:41.The charity Human Appeal says it has never known such generosity.

:12:42. > :12:46.This afternoon it was presented with a cheque for more than ?1.2 million.

:12:47. > :12:48.All the money was raised at Green Lane Mosque

:12:49. > :12:57.through gala nights, food stalls and donations.

:12:58. > :13:03.In eight months than the Muslim community of burning and has raised

:13:04. > :13:05.over ?1 million for the Syrian refugees.

:13:06. > :13:07.The cash will be used to supply displaced Syrians

:13:08. > :13:11.Mosque staff visited camps to ask refugees what they needed the most.

:13:12. > :13:16.It was absolutely apparent they weren't

:13:17. > :13:18.told to tell us that they just wanted to eat bread,

:13:19. > :13:21.that's all they needed because, from eating dirt and

:13:22. > :13:23.whatever else they were getting, whatever else they had access to,

:13:24. > :13:25.bread is a luxury for them, even now.

:13:26. > :13:28.The donation from Birmingham is believed to be a record breaking

:13:29. > :13:31.response by one community to a humanitarian crisis.

:13:32. > :13:45.Those who've benefited have thanked the mosque for its generosity.

:13:46. > :13:48.The formal handing over of the donation came just hours

:13:49. > :13:50.after America launched missiles on a Syrian airbase

:13:51. > :13:54.said to have been used in Tuesday's chemical attack.

:13:55. > :14:00.The charity helping to distribute the aid from Birmingham says

:14:01. > :14:02.the international community must come up with a more

:14:03. > :14:16.There are 3 million under siege and we cannot reach them. None of the

:14:17. > :14:21.charities can reach them. If you add to that the other areas under

:14:22. > :14:27.terrorist groups as well, we cannot reach these people. Meanwhile this

:14:28. > :14:29.mosque will launch a new appeal next month, specifically to help Syrian

:14:30. > :14:30.widows and orphans. Thanks for joining us

:14:31. > :14:34.on Midlands Today, this Cadbury reveal details

:14:35. > :14:37.of their multi million pound investment at the Bournville plant,

:14:38. > :14:40.securing its future. Your detailed weather

:14:41. > :14:56.forecast to come shortly. I'm in Stoke-on-Trent where

:14:57. > :14:57.England's women are warming up for the Euros.

:14:58. > :14:59.And Cheltenham's famous Wishing Fish Clock to be returned,

:15:00. > :15:11.Dan's joined me - starting with the Grand National -

:15:12. > :15:18.plenty of Midlands interest, Dan.

:15:19. > :15:21.There are 13 runners in tomorrow's Grand National

:15:22. > :15:28.Well, four of them are trained by two women trainers in Herefordshire.

:15:29. > :15:30.Venetia Williams won the race with 100-1 shot Mon Mome in 2009.

:15:31. > :15:33.She has Tenor Nivernais and Houblon Des Obeaux this year.

:15:34. > :15:36.In contract Bishops Road and Goodtoknow will be the first

:15:37. > :15:41.And the last two runners-up are trying again.

:15:42. > :15:45.Saint Are was second to Many Clouds in 2015 for trainer Tom George.

:15:46. > :15:49.The Last Samuri was second for Kim Bailey last year.

:15:50. > :15:51.But according to the bookmakers the Herefordshire jockey

:15:52. > :15:57.Tom Scudamore has a favourite's chance on Vieux Lion Rouge.

:15:58. > :16:07.And jockey Tom Scudamore has been lucky to ride a dream horse.

:16:08. > :16:10.For the past 18 months, Tom and Thistlecrack have been

:16:11. > :16:13.the most talked about partnership in jump racing.

:16:14. > :16:16.Thistlecrack was favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup

:16:17. > :16:19.but an injury meant he missed the race.

:16:20. > :16:23.It did knock me sideways for a day or two.

:16:24. > :16:26.But you can't get too down about them because there's always

:16:27. > :16:29.horses to ride and always things round the corner.

:16:30. > :16:37.than I was expecting or than ever before.

:16:38. > :16:39.But can Vieux Lion Rouge change his luck?

:16:40. > :16:43.He's trained by David Pipe in Somerset and was seventh last year.

:16:44. > :16:44.The eight-year-old has been impressive in winning

:16:45. > :16:50.And he's been the favourite for months.

:16:51. > :16:52.The only doubt at the beginning of the season with him

:16:53. > :16:57.regarding the Grand National was stamina but I think his last two

:16:58. > :17:02.runs, I have got full confidence in his stamina and way he has

:17:03. > :17:08.ground it out, so to me he just keeps on rolling.

:17:09. > :17:10.There's also some history to rewrite.

:17:11. > :17:15.Tom's Grandfather Michael won the National in 1959 on Oxo.

:17:16. > :17:17.But his dad Peter never won it as a jockey.

:17:18. > :17:21.Brother Michael went close as a trainer.

:17:22. > :17:28.Another Scudamore victory would be good, wouldn't it?

:17:29. > :17:34.Between Dad, myself, my brother, my brother training

:17:35. > :17:37.and Grandad having a few cracks at it again after he won it,

:17:38. > :17:42.we've probably had 40 goes between us and only got one

:17:43. > :17:50.it would be wonderful to do but it's very difficult.

:17:51. > :17:52.There are no guarantees in the Grand National

:17:53. > :17:58.but Tom Scudamore will have a favourite's chance.

:17:59. > :18:00.And you can listen to the Grand National race tomorrow

:18:01. > :18:08.And you mentioned a Midlands winner at Aintree today -

:18:09. > :18:13.Yes, Gloucestershire trainer Tom George won

:18:14. > :18:22.the Sefton Novices Hurdle over three miles this afternoon.

:18:23. > :18:26.The horse had a disappointing fall in the Cheltenham Festival.

:18:27. > :18:28.And what does it mean to own a winner at Aintree?

:18:29. > :18:35.Well, quite a lot judging by these scenes in the paddock.

:18:36. > :18:38.But it's far from just racing this weekend.

:18:39. > :18:43.We've also got the Davis Cup Tennis and the Masters Golf,

:18:44. > :18:50.Dan Evans is playing for Britain in the Davis Cup

:18:51. > :19:06.Unfortunately it isn't going very well, they are already one match

:19:07. > :19:08.down. Britain are 2-0 down with three to play.

:19:09. > :19:10.And Warwickshire's Andy Sullivan is going well in the Masters.

:19:11. > :19:13.Yes, he began today in a share of fourth place.

:19:14. > :19:15.That was six shots off the leader Charley Hoffman

:19:16. > :19:22.Could be a marvellous weekend for Andy Sullivan.

:19:23. > :19:25.There are plenty of talking points in this weekend's football.

:19:26. > :19:28.England's Women are taking on Italy in a friendly at Vale Park -

:19:29. > :19:32.We'll hear more about their preparation for Euro

:19:33. > :19:35.2017 in a moment Nick - but first we could still have

:19:36. > :19:38.three teams relegated in League One this season,

:19:39. > :19:45.including Port Vale, are the locals a bit worried there?

:19:46. > :19:54.Very worried, Vale are only two points above relegation as they go

:19:55. > :19:58.to Chesterfield tomorrow, and in that relegation zone, Shrewsbury at

:19:59. > :20:04.the top, and Coventry rock bottom. They will be relegated tomorrow

:20:05. > :20:08.unless they win tomorrow. Tonight we are here with England Women taking

:20:09. > :20:16.on Italy in one of their final warm up games. I am joined by a player

:20:17. > :20:21.who was formally with Birmingham. This is great, warm up in front of

:20:22. > :20:24.these fans of euros. It's a lovely ground, great stadium, and we're

:20:25. > :20:29.hoping for a big crowd, to get us into a good mode for the Euros and

:20:30. > :20:33.give us a good sendoff. The last Euros wasn't greater England but

:20:34. > :20:37.since then the bronze medal at the World Cup and things look on the up

:20:38. > :20:47.now. 100%. We have increased in belief and I think every body has

:20:48. > :20:50.enough as well. We're not going to Euros for anything that than to win.

:20:51. > :20:56.Hopefully everyone can get behind us. They sold even more than that of

:20:57. > :21:01.7000 tickets before tonight. Women's football really is growing in this

:21:02. > :21:05.country. Definitely. It needed to. There are great initiatives going on

:21:06. > :21:08.at the moment and it is definitely what we need, more girls playing so

:21:09. > :21:13.we can have the best chance of sending under 17 is an under 19

:21:14. > :21:18.squads to Euros and World Cups and giving us the best chance to win.

:21:19. > :21:22.It's great like to see at a few of the young players getting some

:21:23. > :21:28.experience. Yes, that is vital. They have been playing really well. It

:21:29. > :21:34.just shows, you play well and you impress and you have a chance in the

:21:35. > :21:38.squad. If you want to come down tonight is a beautiful evening and

:21:39. > :21:41.you can still buy tickets at the ticket office, if you live locally

:21:42. > :21:45.and want come-down, a quarter to eight this evening.

:21:46. > :21:50.Sounds like great way to the evening. Beautiful sky, there. We'll

:21:51. > :21:51.have the forecast shortly. It's been confirmed today that

:21:52. > :21:53.a blue plaque is to be put up at Pebble Mill -

:21:54. > :21:56.the former home of BBC The old buildings have

:21:57. > :21:59.long been demolished - and a new hospital is being built

:22:00. > :22:02.on the site. But for decades, Pebble Mill

:22:03. > :22:04.was the home of some of the country's favourite TV shows

:22:05. > :22:07.- including 'Pebble Mill at One', Top Gear, All Creatures Great

:22:08. > :22:09.and Small and radio drama, I think in this country with

:22:10. > :22:13.heritage we look at stately homes and beautiful architecture but

:22:14. > :22:17.because broadcasting is a relatively new phenomenon in historical terms

:22:18. > :22:21.we forget that broadcasting is also It is part of Birmingham's

:22:22. > :22:26.history, it is part of And in order to know

:22:27. > :22:32.where you are going you got to know where you've come from,

:22:33. > :22:38.and that is why it is important. I'm sure many of you will recognise

:22:39. > :22:40.this. Since 1987 Cheltenham's Wishing Fish

:22:41. > :22:43.Clock in the Regent Arcade has been blowing bubbles -

:22:44. > :22:44.and entertaining But earlier this year,

:22:45. > :22:48.much of it was taken away The clock was designed

:22:49. > :22:51.by the Gloucestershire artist, Kit Williams, famous for the Golden

:22:52. > :22:53.Hare. Back in January, the old golden eggs

:22:54. > :23:00.were thrown away and the famous fish blew its last bubbles before

:23:01. > :23:03.being carefully brought down And so in this busy London

:23:04. > :23:09.studio the beloved fish The eyes weren't working, the bubble

:23:10. > :23:18.machine was leaking into the belly of the fish which was then leaking

:23:19. > :23:21.through the wood and stripping the varnish and damaging

:23:22. > :23:23.the wood underneath. So we've flipped it over,

:23:24. > :23:28.sanded it back and re-varnished it, and we've still got

:23:29. > :23:32.another maybe four or five coats to do so that it remains as shiny

:23:33. > :23:35.as the rest of the fish. And one of the challenges

:23:36. > :23:37.of this project has been the lack of original plans,

:23:38. > :23:40.which no longer exist. We had to work out what everything

:23:41. > :23:43.did and why it was done that way, and I think

:23:44. > :23:46.there have been a lot of people over the years

:23:47. > :23:49.adding to it and tweaking it, so trying to trace that back and then

:23:50. > :23:53.revamp it so that it And then they're rather mice who pop

:23:54. > :23:59.out and annoy the snake. A lot of Kit Williams' designs

:24:00. > :24:03.were compromised back in the 80s due to the budget, so now Kit's original

:24:04. > :24:08.vision is finally being realised, and the mice look more mouselike -

:24:09. > :24:12.with some secret features. As the mice get pushed

:24:13. > :24:14.out of the clock by a piston, the tips of their

:24:15. > :24:17.noses open the door. So the fibreglass will wear down

:24:18. > :24:20.over time, so what we have done is we have made

:24:21. > :24:23.a little removable nose and we are going to cast this

:24:24. > :24:26.in rubber so that it And that master mouse is then used

:24:27. > :24:30.to make a new silicone mould from which all the new mice

:24:31. > :24:49.are being cast in fibreglass, so I'm pleased with that. It's a whiz

:24:50. > :24:52.slightly hairy thing when you take it out of the mould for the first

:24:53. > :25:00.time but I'm pleased with that. They won't let you show us -- ask show

:25:01. > :25:07.you all of the work because they want one they lived later. There is

:25:08. > :25:08.plenty more to do, including a new Sane our hands and the old snake

:25:09. > :25:11.will get a new skin. there will be plenty to see

:25:12. > :25:14.in the fullness of time. Steve Knibbs, BBC

:25:15. > :25:17.Midlands Today, London. Rumours of a glorious weekend ahead

:25:18. > :25:21.- Rebecca can bring us the details, her alfresco weekend

:25:22. > :25:29.has already begun. I think I'm just missing a glass of

:25:30. > :25:34.something nice and chilled. It has been lovely and warm today. It's

:25:35. > :25:38.still lovely on the balcony. Lots of people enjoying it. We saw

:25:39. > :25:42.temperatures today making it up to 15 Celsius in some parts of the West

:25:43. > :25:45.Midlands. Widely up into the mid-teens. But the good news is it

:25:46. > :25:50.will continue into the weekend. We have more in the way of sunshine to

:25:51. > :25:55.come and our temperatures are going to start to rise as well. We could

:25:56. > :26:00.see them pushing to 20 Celsius. Chilly nights to come as well,

:26:01. > :26:04.though. Tonight it all starts. Clear spells tonight. Temperatures will

:26:05. > :26:08.fall away and we could see them dipping to around two Celsius across

:26:09. > :26:13.parts of Herefordshire. We could have a touch of grass frost. A

:26:14. > :26:17.chilly night and some mist or fog but high pressure still driving our

:26:18. > :26:22.weather this weekend. It starts to draw up some much milder air and

:26:23. > :26:26.will feel very warm as we had through tomorrow. It will be a cold

:26:27. > :26:30.start, some mist and fog, but it will burn off readily through the

:26:31. > :26:33.morning, and a fine, dry day to come. Some places kept the cloud

:26:34. > :26:37.today about limited temperatures. Much better news for them tomorrow.

:26:38. > :26:42.Temperatures buzzing to around 19 Celsius. At the end of the day

:26:43. > :26:46.tomorrow we will see clear skies again. Temperatures will fall away

:26:47. > :26:52.but the milder air will keep them up a little. We should be at around six

:26:53. > :26:58.to nine Celsius as we had through into Sunday. Sunday will be another

:26:59. > :27:02.fine and dry day with milder air sitting right over the top,

:27:03. > :27:06.temperatures could eat even better. We are likely to see them up into

:27:07. > :27:12.the 20s. In the East they might be higher. On Monday a change as a cold

:27:13. > :27:17.front sinks southwards. That will introduce much colder air, so it

:27:18. > :27:19.will feel much different. Around 80 degrees different. So make the most

:27:20. > :27:30.of this weekend. Do you think we could get higher

:27:31. > :27:33.than 20? I think we could. I'll put my neck on the line and say 22.

:27:34. > :27:34.Sounds great to me. Amy Cole will be here with your late

:27:35. > :27:39.news just before 10:30pm. From all of us at Midlands Today,

:27:40. > :27:47.have a great weekend.
