:00:12. > :00:14.the American food giant Kraft has today announced plans for a

:00:15. > :00:17.a multi-million pound investment at their Birmingham plant.

:00:18. > :00:21.Now renamed Mondelez International, bosses say it's an investment

:00:22. > :00:23.New state-of-the-art production lines at Bournville

:00:24. > :00:27.will help boost efficiency, and ensure the factory

:00:28. > :00:34.Here's our business correspondent, Peter Plisner.

:00:35. > :00:36.Cadbury workers protesting back in 2009 against the Kraft takeover.

:00:37. > :00:41.Their main concern was the future of Bournville, a site that's made

:00:42. > :00:47.But far from winding it down the factory has just got

:00:48. > :00:52.a ?75 million boost with these ultra-modern production lines.

:00:53. > :00:57.It means that daily output at Bournville has now increased

:00:58. > :00:59.to over a million Creme Eggs, five million bars of chocolate

:01:00. > :01:05.and a staggering 400 million chocolate buttons.

:01:06. > :01:08.The boss of Mondelez maintains it's a long-term investment.

:01:09. > :01:11.We've invested ?200 million overall in the UK, ?75

:01:12. > :01:21.For employees, some of whom have worked here for many years,

:01:22. > :01:24.securing this investment was not always easy.

:01:25. > :01:27.Documents leaked to the media talked of some workers

:01:28. > :01:31.being railroaded into redundancy, with talks being confrontational

:01:32. > :01:37.and briefings being inconcise and information far from transparent.

:01:38. > :01:40.Almost 240 people have left Bournville as a result

:01:41. > :01:43.of the new production lines - unions say it's been a tough

:01:44. > :01:48.Now that we are increasing our efficiencies, it makes

:01:49. > :01:50.us more competitive, so when we get new models

:01:51. > :01:53.or new varieties of different chocolate that come out,

:01:54. > :01:56.we will be up there in the pecking order to try and gain some

:01:57. > :02:01.The changes have also left some buildings at Bournville empty and,

:02:02. > :02:03.according to Modelez, that could mean additional space

:02:04. > :02:06.for its highly popular chocolate attraction,

:02:07. > :02:11.Part of the Cadbury World attraction is an insight into manufacturing,

:02:12. > :02:16.and we want to make sure that's part of the experience in the long term

:02:17. > :02:19.and we are looking at plans in that space at the moment.

:02:20. > :02:21.Proud too of the investment at Bournville, which also includes

:02:22. > :02:26.a further ?6 million to set up a Centre for Chocolate Exellence -

:02:27. > :02:30.the company's global research headquarters.

:02:31. > :02:34.Peter Plisner, BBC Midlands Today, at Cadburys.

:02:35. > :02:36.600 jobs are at risk in the Black Country tonight

:02:37. > :02:38.following the announcement that the 2 Sisters Food Group

:02:39. > :02:40.could cease production at their poultry processing

:02:41. > :02:45.The company says it understands the impact the closure could have

:02:46. > :02:49.and will offer up to 200 permanent roles at their other

:02:50. > :02:55.Police are tonight searching for a nine-year-old girl who's gone

:02:56. > :02:59.Danni Purser, who was reported missing just before 6pm this

:03:00. > :03:02.evening, was last seen walking towards Stanton Lacy,

:03:03. > :03:08.Officers are keen to identify a man seen walking in that area

:03:09. > :03:15.A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder,

:03:16. > :03:18.following a stabbing near a tram stop in Birmingham.

:03:19. > :03:20.It's a week now since 57-year-old Anthony Banting

:03:21. > :03:24.was stabbed several times after getting off a tram

:03:25. > :03:36.Lindsay, what's been happening today?

:03:37. > :03:46.This afternoon, Anthony Banting toss four sons came to lay floral

:03:47. > :03:50.tributes at the spot where their father died a week ago. Earlier in

:03:51. > :03:54.the week, they released a statement, describing their father as a simple

:03:55. > :03:59.man who loved spending time with his boys. He had been on his way to meet

:04:00. > :04:04.one of his sons at a nearby park when the attack happened last week.

:04:05. > :04:09.Are the police any nearer to understanding why this happened and

:04:10. > :04:14.who did this? There is a latest development, and I can tell you that

:04:15. > :04:17.the police have arrested a man in his 20s, thought to be from the

:04:18. > :04:19.local Winston green area, though they are stressing this is just one

:04:20. > :04:21.line of enquiry they are following. There are numerous lines

:04:22. > :04:24.of enquiries ongoing, and we still would like to speak

:04:25. > :04:27.to anybody that might have been in this area of Benson Road

:04:28. > :04:29.between four o'clock and five o'clock on Friday, or anyone that

:04:30. > :04:32.may have help for them identifying the individual

:04:33. > :04:43.that we've circulated. British Transport Police have

:04:44. > :04:48.released CCTV footage of a man they are keen to speak to. This

:04:49. > :04:52.afternoon, they were stopping motorists, passers-by, and talking

:04:53. > :04:55.to people using the metro network. Tonight, police are saying they

:04:56. > :04:59.still believe this was a random attack. They do not believe that

:05:00. > :05:01.Anthony Banting knew his killer. The Trust which runs

:05:02. > :05:03.Worcestershire's hospitals turned away more ambulances this winter

:05:04. > :05:05.than any other in England, bar one. Figures from the Nuffield Trust show

:05:06. > :05:08.the organisation closed its doors making it the second worst

:05:09. > :05:16.performing in the country. We do these things to make sure

:05:17. > :05:18.that patients are safe in the system, so we don't agree

:05:19. > :05:22.to diverts lightly. We are consulted when diverts

:05:23. > :05:26.are requested and, if we think it's unsafe for patients,

:05:27. > :05:31.we will raise that as a concern. A Birmingham mosque has been praised

:05:32. > :05:34.for its generosity after raising a record ?1.2 million to supply

:05:35. > :05:40.bread to starving Syrian refugees. An appeal was launched after staff

:05:41. > :05:43.from Green Lane Mosque in Small Heath travelled to refugee

:05:44. > :05:48.camps on a fact-finding mission. The money, raised in just eight

:05:49. > :05:51.months, will provide There have been two Premiership

:05:52. > :05:59.rugby matches tonight and, despite losing 36-26 at Sale,

:06:00. > :06:02.Worcester Warriors did pick up a much-needed bonus point

:06:03. > :06:05.in their fight against relegation. After the home side had

:06:06. > :06:08.taken an early lead, Francois Hougaard grabbed the first

:06:09. > :06:11.of four tries for Worcester, who have now opened up a ten-point

:06:12. > :06:15.advantage over the bottom club, In the other game, Gloucester have

:06:16. > :06:25.gone down 16-14 at Newcastle. I'll leave you now with

:06:26. > :06:30.the weather from Rebecca Wood. It's certainly been

:06:31. > :06:35.a pleasant day today. We started with some cloud,

:06:36. > :06:37.the sun desperately trying to break through,

:06:38. > :06:40.and it did for many spots. We got some glorious blue skies,

:06:41. > :06:44.with temperatures responding nicely. More of the same to come as we head

:06:45. > :06:47.through this weekend. Meanwhile, temperatures

:06:48. > :06:50.are going to fall away. It will be a chilly

:06:51. > :06:52.night for some spots. In some sheltered spots,

:06:53. > :06:54.we could see temperatures touching close to freezing,

:06:55. > :06:56.so we could get a bit of grass frost, particularly

:06:57. > :06:58.across parts of Herefordshire. Further inland, we should manage

:06:59. > :07:01.to stay up a little higher than that, but a chilly start

:07:02. > :07:04.for many tomorrow, but the high pressure has

:07:05. > :07:07.shifted ever so slightly. It starts to bring up much milder

:07:08. > :07:10.air through the day tomorrow, so it will be a fine and dry start

:07:11. > :07:13.to the day. We'll be left with lots of lovely

:07:14. > :07:18.sunshine and much milder air Temperatures up into

:07:19. > :07:23.the mid-to-high teens. There is more information on that

:07:24. > :07:27.in the national forecast. I'll leave you with an outlook

:07:28. > :07:34.for the next few days. Monday, and north-westerly wind will

:07:35. > :07:35.drag in
