:00:43. > :00:46.Staffordshire police will also be here tomorrow.

:00:47. > :00:50.This closure is unprecedented in the park's 67 year history

:00:51. > :00:54.and the park's owners say their thoughts remain

:00:55. > :00:57.with Evha's family and everyone he was affected by the incidents

:00:58. > :01:04.Throughout today, flowers have continued to be laid at the entrance

:01:05. > :01:12.to the park and Evha's family who spoke so movingly yesterday

:01:13. > :01:15.about how their world had been torn apart by her death are now preparing

:01:16. > :01:19.That is expected to take place sometime next week in Leicester

:01:20. > :01:21.and the family say the whole community has been deeply

:01:22. > :01:29.As for the investigation, it is expected that a postmortem

:01:30. > :01:31.examination will be conducted on Monday and then an inquest is

:01:32. > :01:40.Today, we heard that theme parks across Europe closed similar rides

:01:41. > :01:44.but this evening we have heard from Merlin entertainment

:01:45. > :01:47.who own a number of theme parks including Alton Towers and they say

:01:48. > :01:51.they have conducted their own safety and risk assessment and spoken

:01:52. > :01:55.to the Health and Safety Executive but as a result, they are confident

:01:56. > :02:00.they can reopen those rides tomorrow and I think that is an indication

:02:01. > :02:05.any wider safety concerns have been allayed fairly swiftly

:02:06. > :02:15.but when things will reopen here it Drayton Manor isn't yet clear.

:02:16. > :02:17.A man's been charged with using drones to fly

:02:18. > :02:19.drugs and mobile phones into Birmingham Prison -

:02:20. > :02:21.the first prosecution of its kind secured by West Midlands Police.

:02:22. > :02:24.Drones were allegedly used to drop contraband into an exercise yard

:02:44. > :02:47.Further investigations need to be made into how 29-year-old

:02:48. > :02:50.Tahnie Martin came to be hit by a piece of timber outside

:02:51. > :03:00.Exactly four weeks to go now until polling day and nominations

:03:01. > :03:02.have closed for candidates standing in the General Election.

:03:03. > :03:06.So, in the run-up to June eighth, today was always going to be a big

:03:07. > :03:08.moment for those seats where there are slim majorities.

:03:09. > :03:11.That's why we sent our reporter Ben Godfrey to one tightly fought

:03:12. > :03:15.West Midlands constituency to find out what issues are on the minds

:03:16. > :03:21.It's a beautiful day in Dudley North, the seat held

:03:22. > :03:24.by Labour since its creation in 1997 but high up on the list

:03:25. > :03:30.We have come to Corbyn Road to see what people are thinking.

:03:31. > :03:33.First we met Mandy Yerster, an undecided voter who wants

:03:34. > :03:39.the next Government to champion social care.

:03:40. > :03:43.Giving single parents more leeway, childcare because my son

:03:44. > :03:49.is autistic, a little bit more help regarding autism and stuff.

:03:50. > :03:52.With support for Labour, the Conservatives and Ukip in this

:03:53. > :03:54.area - it's no surprise the big hitters have been

:03:55. > :03:59.Far from getting ready for the next politician to visit -

:04:00. > :04:02.Lyndon Corbett - just to clear it up he's the Corbyn Road beekeeper -

:04:03. > :04:06.would welcome a ban on zero hours contract hours.

:04:07. > :04:08.Lyndon also runs a business providing home care

:04:09. > :04:19.It would be beneficial because we don't get paid enough to do these

:04:20. > :04:23.jobs. Basically when you do a 15 minute call for an old-age pension

:04:24. > :04:25.you do not have enough time to communicate with the one that is

:04:26. > :04:27.what some of them the most of all. Retired shop worker Betty had a bee

:04:28. > :04:30.in her bonnet when I caught up There is a lot of men in London,

:04:31. > :04:37.they are not in the real world. My bus is here and I

:04:38. > :04:41.am off, thank you! Some polling experts suggest

:04:42. > :04:45.Dudley North may turn blue in fours weeks' time,

:04:46. > :04:47.but on on Corbyn Road we found many That's for me to know

:04:48. > :05:06.and you not to! People who work or play sport

:05:07. > :05:10.outdoors are being urged to protect their skin now that

:05:11. > :05:15.sunnier weather's around. According to a recent study,

:05:16. > :05:18.working in the sun could lead to one death and five new cases

:05:19. > :05:20.of melanoma every week. Laura May McMullan's been talking

:05:21. > :05:22.to a former beach lifeguard from Shropshire who now

:05:23. > :05:29.has incurable melanoma. First being diagnosed with melanoma

:05:30. > :05:40.22 years ago and again in 2014. This time it's stage

:05:41. > :05:44.4 and incurable. Melanoma is such a cruel

:05:45. > :05:48.and unpredictable disease and I wouldn't want anyone to go

:05:49. > :05:51.through what I've gone through, the surgeries,

:05:52. > :05:58.the shock, the anxiety. In his youth, he spent years

:05:59. > :06:00.working on the beaches Doctors say it's vital

:06:01. > :06:08.for us to apply sun cream BEFORE we go in the sun,

:06:09. > :06:12.and that's because we all have a different burning threshold -

:06:13. > :06:21.when our skin starts to turn pink. Construction workers

:06:22. > :06:23.are at the highest risk of skin cancer, due to long hours

:06:24. > :06:25.of sun exposure. We've brought a UV camera

:06:26. > :06:27.to this Wolverhampton site You can see some sun damage

:06:28. > :06:42.on your cheeks, nose, and forehead. I wasn't surprised to see

:06:43. > :06:46.I have damage to my skin. Without doubt, having seen

:06:47. > :06:49.what has been evident, I've been sunburnt and after seeing

:06:50. > :06:54.this today, I would, He's urging others to stop burning

:06:55. > :07:10.up and instead cover up. If you take a look out

:07:11. > :07:13.of your window you might be lucky enough to spot ivy,

:07:14. > :07:15.hydrangeas, fuschia, magnolia, We have our ancestors

:07:16. > :07:21.to thank for bringing The great explorers of the day

:07:22. > :07:26.travelled the world. Ben Sidwell hasn't been that far,

:07:27. > :07:29.but he did take a trip to the Malvern Spring Festival

:07:30. > :07:33.on the trail of plant history. In the shadow of the Malvern Hills,

:07:34. > :07:38.some of the greatest flora and fauna the world has to offer

:07:39. > :07:41.and for this, we need to thank the Victorians which is what they're

:07:42. > :07:44.doing this year at RHS Spring At the heart of the floral marquee

:07:45. > :07:50.is the plant finder's parlour, It is important to the intrepid

:07:51. > :07:57.explorers who search They would search for months on end,

:07:58. > :08:08.some of them would never come back, some would come back with broken

:08:09. > :08:11.legs and they would go in search for clients and bring them

:08:12. > :08:13.back in Edwardian cases because they couldn't figure out how

:08:14. > :08:16.to get the plans back. You don't have to go far

:08:17. > :08:19.to find species Victorians These carnivorous plants

:08:20. > :08:28.are from Malaysia and Indonesia. It was brought in by the Victorians

:08:29. > :08:34.and remains in cultivation today so if it wasn't for the plant

:08:35. > :08:36.hunters, they wouldn't There was one type of plant that

:08:37. > :08:40.surprisingly got the Victorians more Now grown in abundance

:08:41. > :08:47.in Warwickshire, in the 19th century There was a period known as fern

:08:48. > :08:58.fever and they went mad for building little got

:08:59. > :09:00.was like this where the theories could live

:09:01. > :09:02.and the imagination was amazing. Today we are just as

:09:03. > :09:07.captivated by horticulture. 100,000 people will come

:09:08. > :09:09.to the showground in Malvern, making it the biggest gardening show

:09:10. > :09:15.outside of London. I've been going to

:09:16. > :09:16.Chelsea since 1968. If you were to say to me you can

:09:17. > :09:25.pick one show way you like being, From award-winning show gardens

:09:26. > :09:30.to pupils from local schools who are just

:09:31. > :09:36.beginning their gardening journeys, the Victorians would be

:09:37. > :09:38.amazed that the plants to discover are now common sights

:09:39. > :09:44.in gardens across the country. Before we go, I'll leave you with

:09:45. > :09:48.the weather from Rebecca Wood. Temperatures did very well indeed

:09:49. > :09:55.today helped by the sunshine but through the afternoon we started

:09:56. > :09:58.to see it turning a little more hazy, not quite the blue skies

:09:59. > :10:00.but in Perthshire temperatures As we head through the next few days

:10:01. > :10:06.there was a change on the way, gardens will be grateful for some

:10:07. > :10:08.showers which will build and tomorrow we could get quite

:10:09. > :10:13.a lot of rain through the day. Tonight, a few showers out

:10:14. > :10:16.and about, some are quite lively across the South Midlands containing

:10:17. > :10:19.a rumble of thunder Across the North Midlands,

:10:20. > :10:27.with clear skies temperatures are still will not fall too far,

:10:28. > :10:30.a muggy night, lows Tomorrow, a weather system moves

:10:31. > :10:33.through, low-pressure back in charge and some showers,

:10:34. > :10:36.unstable air so we see the first band of showers clearing

:10:37. > :10:38.the way to the north, we are left with brighter spells

:10:39. > :10:43.and showers star to trigger off with the heat and unstable air

:10:44. > :10:50.so temperatures lower than they have been today,

:10:51. > :10:53.16 to 17 Celsius but the sunshine Saturday, fine and dry,

:10:54. > :10:56.Sunday more rain. More information on

:10:57. > :10:57.the national forecast. We want to see the economy

:10:58. > :11:08.work for everybody, not Now the weather.

:11:09. > :11:19., yes a humid dead. We have had photographs of the
