:00:14. > :00:15.They were amongst 25 residents who had to be evacuated.

:00:16. > :00:24.The alarm was raised at around 11.30 last night at the Standon House

:00:25. > :00:28.It took 20 firefighters around three hours to bring it under control.

:00:29. > :00:33.Staffordshire Fire Service say it was caused by a discarded

:00:34. > :00:36.cigarette in an external smoking area which lead to the fire

:00:37. > :00:39.spreading to the roof of the home. Seven of the residents had to be

:00:40. > :00:46.One to the Queens Hospital in Burton upon Trent

:00:47. > :00:53.In two of them here are said to be in a serious condition.

:00:54. > :00:56.The remaining residents had to be rehoused in nearby flats, and two

:00:57. > :01:02.Many of the residents' bedrooms were unfortunately quite seriously

:01:03. > :01:06.The majority of the fire was in the roof space and then

:01:07. > :01:13.we had quite a lot of smoke damage and obviously where we put water

:01:14. > :01:16.on to the fire, that water ingresses into the residents' rooms as well.

:01:17. > :01:19.That is why there was the need to re-home some of the residents.

:01:20. > :01:21.Keith Hall's 91-year-old mother who has dementia,

:01:22. > :01:24.She was absolutely fine about it, really.
