:21:28. > :21:32.grand finale of the Queen's battled really in Manchester, when Kirsty
:21:33. > :21:38.Howard and David Beckham made their entrance. They were the final battle
:21:39. > :21:44.invaders in 20 02. Hopefully there will be a similar finale in Celtic
:21:45. > :21:46.Park in July this year. It will be the follow`up home games after
:21:47. > :21:51.Manchester so we hope for similar success.
:21:52. > :21:56.We do indeed. Regular at. I think we can definitely expect to
:21:57. > :21:58.see the bat on in this part of the world.
:21:59. > :22:02.Now a story straight from the gutter press. The gutters of the Lake
:22:03. > :22:04.District to be precise. Because a lengthsman near Ulverston has
:22:05. > :22:13.produced a calendar to raise money for his local parish council. And
:22:14. > :22:16.the pin`ups? Well, they're photos of the drains and grass verges that he
:22:17. > :22:18.works on. Very nice. They are nice. Perhaps not
:22:19. > :22:21.surprisingly, it's a very limited edition calendar. But Archie Workman
:22:22. > :22:24.is passionate about his drains and hopes orders will soon start
:22:25. > :22:30.flooding in. Naomi Cornwell's been to meet him. I knew it was there
:22:31. > :22:34.somewhere! You might never notice the drains in
:22:35. > :22:48.the road... ..but Archie does. This was made in Dudley. It is a dark
:22:49. > :22:50.tale ACPO fall. 5804. Exciting? Spielberg not particularly because
:22:51. > :22:52.it is quite thin. I like the heavy ones.
:22:53. > :22:56.As lengthsman for the parish of Colton, he maintains the roads and
:22:57. > :23:04.gulleys over 20 square miles of the Lake District. An area containing
:23:05. > :23:09.thousands of drains. I have found drain covers found in Barrow, the
:23:10. > :23:14.founder. All of the founders have gone. It is a Tesco supermarket now.
:23:15. > :23:16.There is a famous name from Blackburn.
:23:17. > :23:22.So he decided to bring them to the public's attention, creating a
:23:23. > :23:25.calendar of curiosities. Profits are going to the parish council. It is
:23:26. > :23:31.not your average calendar and I am hoping it gets into the UK's top ten
:23:32. > :23:32.calendars and challenges something like tattooed librarians or yoga for
:23:33. > :23:36.cows. Now, you might think that all drain
:23:37. > :23:44.covers are the same but no, you d be mistaken because behind every one is
:23:45. > :23:48.a different story. There we are That is a heavy one! What is the
:23:49. > :23:55.most unusual thing you have ever found? I pulled a seven foot slug of
:23:56. > :23:59.free route out of the drain. From there to the other side of the road.
:24:00. > :24:03.The road was blocked and flooded and it was this that was blocking the
:24:04. > :24:05.drain. It is in March on the calendar.
:24:06. > :24:10.Archie's hoping his drain calendar could lead to stardom and floods of
:24:11. > :24:16.offers. It could be a book or film. Confessions Of A Lengthening. You
:24:17. > :24:22.never know. I particularly like April, the slug.
:24:23. > :24:29.It is very picturesque. Ferritin. If you want to get hold of
:24:30. > :24:33.a copy, the parish council website is the place to go to. There might
:24:34. > :24:36.well have been a bit of snow there this afternoon. It started to snow
:24:37. > :24:41.in parts of the region this evening. We know some people from Buxton have
:24:42. > :24:45.been in touch to say that it is snowing there but look at these from
:24:46. > :24:50.Windermere. They show a hail Stone are gradually closing in.
:24:51. > :24:54.That is amazing. One minute, as you can see, bright sunshine and then
:24:55. > :24:58.gradually take a look at how the storm closes on and the sky becomes
:24:59. > :25:03.completely dark. That is... Brilliant pictures! It was
:25:04. > :25:07.definitely snowing. I spoke to somebody on the' six and it was
:25:08. > :25:11.going. How is it looking for the rest of the region? Or smack we have
:25:12. > :25:18.had everything but the kitchen thing and there is more of that. I am
:25:19. > :25:21.promising you everything and it seems as though we had all that
:25:22. > :25:25.today. A lot of sunshine, heavy showers, hail, thunder and
:25:26. > :25:30.lightning. You're going to see some rain tonight. The rain lingers into
:25:31. > :25:36.tomorrow. A bit more rain on Saturday. Proper, as in heavy, rain
:25:37. > :25:40.on Sunday. It will also be quite windy and just a little bit of rain
:25:41. > :25:43.on Monday. Generally, you will need your umbrella at hand. For this
:25:44. > :25:48.evening, we have a yellow weather warning for ice from the Met Office.
:25:49. > :25:55.This is because we have had a lot of showers around this evening. They
:25:56. > :25:59.have eased their `` eased away. Underneath clear skies it is quite
:26:00. > :26:03.cold. We have some frost and anything lying on the ground is
:26:04. > :26:07.likely to freeze over. That ice warning is valid until 11am
:26:08. > :26:10.tomorrow. Then we head into Dawn was clear skies but you can see another
:26:11. > :26:15.line of rain lying in wait and already falling over the Isle of Man
:26:16. > :26:21.by dawn. Quite a breezy night also. Temperatures down very low. For
:26:22. > :26:26.tomorrow, it is going to turn very wet and quite windy. We start of
:26:27. > :26:29.very cloudy. Some patchy, light rain in the morning but you can see that
:26:30. > :26:33.turning heavier and beginning to violence in the afternoon. The winds
:26:34. > :26:37.are really picking up, particularly over the course. That may now be
:26:38. > :26:42.persisted all day and it gets heavier by late afternoon. It could
:26:43. > :26:47.be quite a miserable day, with lots of showers water on the roads. Do
:26:48. > :26:51.take care. In terms of temperate, just six Celsius but with the wind,
:26:52. > :26:56.it will not feel warm at all. For Saturday, just a few showers and
:26:57. > :27:00.then on Sunday, we are going to see more heavy rain and some very, very
:27:01. > :27:02.strong winds. Watch this space. Thank you very much.
:27:03. > :27:06.If you were watching on Tuesday you'll know we had Bob Blakeley on
:27:07. > :27:10.the sofa. Bob's the warehouse worker from Stockport who impressed the
:27:11. > :27:15.judges on BBC One's The Voice at the weekend but didn't get picked.
:27:16. > :27:22.Here are the pictures of him singing. He was back on the sofa
:27:23. > :27:25.this morning on BBC Breakfast when composer and songwriter Mike Batt
:27:26. > :27:29.offered him six month's mentoring in the hope it will lead to a recording
