:00:00. > :00:15.Good evening. Welcome to North West Tonight with Annabel Tiffin and
:00:16. > :00:19.Stuart Flinders. Our top story: Baby Ava`Jayne is mauled to debt by an
:00:20. > :00:23.illegal dangerous dog. Her mother and boyfriend are questioned on
:00:24. > :00:26.suspicion of man slauteder. The baby was upstairs. Two people are
:00:27. > :00:36.currently in custody. They were downstairs. The local MP, Jack
:00:37. > :00:39.Straw, says it may be time to increase the number of dangerous
:00:40. > :00:42.dogs banned in Britain. Also tonight: How to stop your child
:00:43. > :00:46.being cyber bullied. We hear from the experts and the devastating
:00:47. > :00:49.impact it had on one family. Why can people be so cruel and so evil? He
:00:50. > :00:51.was just a kind, gentle and caring boy.
:00:52. > :00:55.The former soldier walking again thanks to the world's most advanced
:00:56. > :01:04.prosthetic knee. All I want to do is run around with my son and be a good
:01:05. > :01:08.day. This enables me to do it. Capturing one second each day ` the
:01:09. > :01:15.home movie which made one dad change his life. Triple trouble ` Lily
:01:16. > :01:18.Harry and Charlie are here. Three triplets live here in the
:01:19. > :01:31.studio. What could possibly go wrong?
:01:32. > :01:36.A mother is still being questioned by police tonight over the death of
:01:37. > :01:40.her 11`month`old baby who was mauled to death by a dog. Ava`Jayne Corless
:01:41. > :01:50.was attacked as she slept in bed. The dog belonged to her mother's
:01:51. > :01:53.boyfriend. Our chief reporter, Dave Guest, is at the scene of the
:01:54. > :01:56.tragedy in Blackburn now. I believe you've had news from the police
:01:57. > :01:59.about what kind of dog it was? Within the past few minutes,
:02:00. > :02:04.Lancashire Police have confirmed the dog involved was of a pitbull breed
:02:05. > :02:09.which is banned under the dangerous dogs legislation. As you have said
:02:10. > :02:18.tonight, Ava`Jayne's mother, Chloe Ked and her boyfriend, Lee Wright,
:02:19. > :02:22.who is not Ava's father is being questioned on suspicion of child
:02:23. > :02:30.neglect and manslaughter. Meanwhile here on Emily Street. Road remains
:02:31. > :02:33.sealed off. The scene of what one police officer described as a
:02:34. > :02:38.horrific incident is further down the street beyond the view of our
:02:39. > :02:42.camera. Of course, this baby's death has devastated her family. But it
:02:43. > :02:45.has left the community feeling shell`shocked and bewildered. She
:02:46. > :02:53.was attacked in a place where she should have been safe. 11`month`old
:02:54. > :02:59.Ava`Jayne core less was mauled by a dog as she slept in bed. The animal
:03:00. > :03:03.belonged to her mother's boyfriend. She and her mum were visiting Lee
:03:04. > :03:07.Wright's home when it happened. The animals were downstairs, Ava`Jayne
:03:08. > :03:12.upstairs. When police arrived, they found a scene of unimaginable
:03:13. > :03:16.horror. We found the young girl baby Ava, upstairs, on her bed and
:03:17. > :03:21.she had been badly attacked and severely injured by the dog. It must
:03:22. > :03:27.have been an horrific sight for the police who arrived there? Extremely
:03:28. > :03:30.distressing, a tragedy. Officers and paramedics attempted CPR. The young
:03:31. > :03:35.baby was taken to hospital where sadly, she passed away. Neighbours
:03:36. > :03:38.were left in a state of bewilderment. I think it is a very
:03:39. > :03:43.traumatic thing what has happened. Obviously, you don't hear about
:03:44. > :03:47.these things every day. I hope to God they get justice for this little
:03:48. > :03:51.girl. She didn't deserve that, did she? Some claimed they'd had trouble
:03:52. > :03:55.with the dog in the past. It came into our garden and followed our
:03:56. > :04:00.kids as well. We did complain to the community officer and the police.
:04:01. > :04:05.Did anything happen? I can't really say. After that, nobody came to our
:04:06. > :04:09.house or the dog didn't come to our garden after that. Neighbours in
:04:10. > :04:13.Emily Street have told us that they complained to police about the dog
:04:14. > :04:16.at this house on a number of occasions saying it was getting into
:04:17. > :04:19.people's gardens and terror iedsing them. What can you say about that
:04:20. > :04:23.Part of the inquiry will look into the his trift dog to ascertain the
:04:24. > :04:27.nature, breed of the dog and whether or not the police or other agencies
:04:28. > :04:35.have been involved. At this moment it is too early to speculate.
:04:36. > :04:39.Ava`Jayne's father, Dean Corless said he was too distressed to speak,
:04:40. > :04:43.but one national newspaper quoted him as saying his daughter was the
:04:44. > :04:49.most beautiful and adorable little girl. To recap. Within the past few
:04:50. > :04:54.minutes, Lancashire Police have said the dog involved in the attack was a
:04:55. > :05:02.breed banned under the dangerous dogs legislation. Ava's mother and
:05:03. > :05:04.boyfriend are continued to be questioned tonight. They have until
:05:05. > :05:09.midnight to decide on their next move.
:05:10. > :05:12.What more can be done to protect children from dangerous dogs?
:05:13. > :05:17.Earlier, I spoke to Blackburn's MP, Jack Straw. Things a terrible,
:05:18. > :05:22.terrible story that an 11`month`old baby, completely innocent, should
:05:23. > :05:26.have been mauled to death by this dangerous dog. It's appalling. Last
:05:27. > :05:31.year we had a 14`year`old girl from Wigan mauled to death by dogs, and,
:05:32. > :05:34.every time, it seems, that we hear somebody saying ` this must never be
:05:35. > :05:42.allowed to happen again, but it does. It does, I'm afraid. But you
:05:43. > :05:45.are right to say that there's always serious concern expressed when you
:05:46. > :05:51.have a terrible death like this And then, in a sense, public concern
:05:52. > :05:55.subsides. But there is a long history, isn't there, of legislation
:05:56. > :05:59.going back it the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991, that appears to have been
:06:00. > :06:04.ineffective? Well, as the legislation has been strengthened, I
:06:05. > :06:09.think the situation has improved. However, we still find that between
:06:10. > :06:13.5,000 and 6,000 people a year are admitted to hospital having been
:06:14. > :06:16.attacked by a dog. The Communications Workers Union, which
:06:17. > :06:20.represents postmen and postwomen report that about a dozen of their
:06:21. > :06:24.members are attacked every day. So there is still a very serious
:06:25. > :06:27.problem here. I wonder if the lesson is that legislation in this area
:06:28. > :06:32.simply doesn't work? And in which case, how do we protect children?
:06:33. > :06:36.Well, there is no question that if, for example, the legislation simply
:06:37. > :06:40.banned altogether more breeds of dogs, it would have the effect of
:06:41. > :06:44.bringing down the number of attacks. Is that the answer, then? Well, what
:06:45. > :06:48.we have to do is look very carefully at this. I mean, the responsibility
:06:49. > :06:55.has to rest with the owners and keepers of these dogs. I hate,
:06:56. > :07:01.really detest and am frightened by these pitbull terriers and similar
:07:02. > :07:05.dogs and I can see no reason at all why people should own them. But your
:07:06. > :07:08.feeling is that if you have a small child in your house, you really have
:07:09. > :07:13.no business having a dog like that. If you have a small child in your
:07:14. > :07:18.house, you have a fundamental duty to protect the safety of that child.
:07:19. > :07:25.And everybody ought to know that you must never allow a dog, or indeed a
:07:26. > :07:29.cat, for different reasons, to be unsupervised in the same room as a
:07:30. > :07:39.small child. Pets, babies and small children, do not mix. Jack Straw,
:07:40. > :07:41.thank you. Next tonight: The television weatherman, Fred Talbot,
:07:42. > :07:45.has appeared in court today, charged with historical sex offences. Mr
:07:46. > :07:47.Talbot, who's 64 and from Bowdon in Cheshire, faces ten allegations
:07:48. > :07:50.including nine counts of indecent assault. He appeared before
:07:51. > :07:54.magistrates in Manchester. A man's died from a suspected drugs
:07:55. > :07:56.overdose after becoming ill at a Manchester music venue. The
:07:57. > :08:00.30`year`old, who'd been at the Academy on Oxford Road, died in
:08:01. > :08:02.hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police are
:08:03. > :08:08.investigating where the drugs came from.
:08:09. > :08:11.Now many youngsters these days spend hours on their mobile phones or
:08:12. > :08:15.interacting with friends on social networking sites. But according to
:08:16. > :08:18.new research by the BBC, many parents are out of touch with the
:08:19. > :08:21.dangers that their children face online.
:08:22. > :08:25.Well this week, we'll be looking at how you can protect your children
:08:26. > :08:29.and giving you tips on how to keep them safe in a virtual world. Our
:08:30. > :08:39.reporter Elaine Dunkley joins us now.
:08:40. > :08:42.Yes, the BBC Spoke to 4,000 adults and children and found that 74 of
:08:43. > :08:46.parents were concerned about what their children could find and who
:08:47. > :08:47.they could be in contact with online. But it's not just parents
:08:48. > :08:49.who are concerned. they could be in contact with
:08:50. > :08:52.online. But it's not just Almost one in five children who use tablets or
:08:53. > :08:55.smartphones have been upset by something they've seen on them in
:08:56. > :08:58.the last year. Almost half were worried by sexual content. Well one
:08:59. > :09:01.of the big concerns was cyber bulling. Nearly a quarter of
:09:02. > :09:05.children going online have been bullied and in some instances it can
:09:06. > :09:07.have a devastating impact on the lives of young people here the North
:09:08. > :09:11.West, as I've been finding out. West, as I've been finding
:09:12. > :09:15.For these teenagers, a virtual nightmare became a reality. Harassed
:09:16. > :09:22.and bullied online, they took their own lives.
:09:23. > :09:32.He was such a kind andp gentle and caring boy. He wouldn't have harmed
:09:33. > :09:35.anyone. This is Matt's bedroom. I put all the cards and photographs in
:09:36. > :09:42.here, lots of things that he made for me when he was younger. It's
:09:43. > :09:47.very precious being in here. Matt Jones was just 17. In the days
:09:48. > :09:53.leading up to his death in 2008 he was subjected to dozens of abusive
:09:54. > :09:57.comments online and messages encourage him to kill himself.
:09:58. > :10:03.Terrible some of it. Towards the end it was goading. Why haven't you done
:10:04. > :10:09.it? What are you doing still here? You often heard him crying in his
:10:10. > :10:15.bedroom, sobbing. He often cried in the shower. It just broke my heart.
:10:16. > :10:18.I just didn't know what to do. I was really afraid of what was going to
:10:19. > :10:24.happen next. This teenager also knows exactly what it is like to be
:10:25. > :10:27.the target of trolls. Cyber bullies found pictures of Kate online and
:10:28. > :10:34.harassed her. She now helps others experiencing the same problem. It
:10:35. > :10:38.has quite a big effect. It is not off`line bullying that can affect
:10:39. > :10:42.you. It can affect you outside of school. You can come home and still
:10:43. > :10:45.have messages. I have had a lot of bullying, so I thought I could use
:10:46. > :10:49.it to help other people. This charity in Warrington helps people
:10:50. > :10:52.who are suicidal and have seen an increase in the number of young
:10:53. > :10:56.people who have become desperate because of the impact of cyber
:10:57. > :11:00.bullying. Sadly, after the event of a suicide we often find out, in
:11:01. > :11:06.hindsight, looking back, that young people have been in social media
:11:07. > :11:12.channels. Cyber bullying, trolling and so on, is a very real threat.
:11:13. > :11:19.For some families, it's too late but the fight to protect others
:11:20. > :11:25.continues. Well, earlier I spoke to Scott
:11:26. > :11:28.Freeman, who set up the charity CyberSmile to help young people and
:11:29. > :11:33.their families victimised on the internet. His own daughter was
:11:34. > :11:37.bullied online in 2010. At that time it wasn't as openly discussed, it
:11:38. > :11:41.was more of an unknown problem and was scary that no`one had any
:11:42. > :11:47.answers or accept responsibility. But, it's absolutely devastating on
:11:48. > :11:51.the child, and devastating on the parents, because they feel so
:11:52. > :11:53.helpless and you can't do anything. Unfortunately it is not taken
:11:54. > :11:57.seriously enough or wasn't at that time but it is starting to now. I
:11:58. > :12:05.mean, the problem is now, things have moved on even more since 2 10.
:12:06. > :12:11.There's snapchat, instagram, and Twitter and so many forums. How as
:12:12. > :12:15.a parent can you possibly monitor all this and should you be
:12:16. > :12:20.monitoring it? Well, if your children don't want you to see it,
:12:21. > :12:25.you won't see it. Too many resources are wasted on technological filters
:12:26. > :12:29.and quick fixes when we need to be educating the children about how
:12:30. > :12:33.harmful this behaviour is and the impact it has on families when you
:12:34. > :12:36.have tragedies. Education is the key, education for the children and
:12:37. > :12:40.parents and education for the bullies themselves because often
:12:41. > :12:43.they are not aware in a they are cyber bullying anyone. They just
:12:44. > :12:47.think they are having a laugh. Are there signs that parents can look
:12:48. > :12:51.out for, to see whether their children are being cyber bullied?
:12:52. > :12:55.Generally just not wanting to go to school. Often it is associated with
:12:56. > :13:00.school. Covering up the computer when they are on it, more than the
:13:01. > :13:03.normal bit again, but again as a teenager that's common. One thing
:13:04. > :13:08.parents can do is to Google their child's name. Because, much of the
:13:09. > :13:12.stuff is indexed by Google. You can get an idea of some of the things
:13:13. > :13:17.that are out there on some of the open platforms. That was Scott
:13:18. > :13:20.Freeman speaking earlier from the charity, CyberSmile. If you are
:13:21. > :13:28.worried there is lots of information out there. Go to bbc.co.uk/web wise
:13:29. > :13:29.and you can follow the conversation on
:13:30. > :13:41.#Webwise. Still to come: :ers She's braved the
:13:42. > :13:44.icy water of Windermere. Tonight it's snow in Lancashire. We speak to
:13:45. > :13:48.TV presenter, Davina McCall. From Sydney to St Helens ` what the
:13:49. > :13:51.newest rugby league families miss about home. Washing all my stuff. It
:13:52. > :13:55.was turning it blue. I'm in the used to the different washing machines
:13:56. > :14:04.and liquid. Maybe the weather a little bit.
:14:05. > :14:07.Well, for starters. When Lancashire soldier Gregg Stevenson took the
:14:08. > :14:10.full force of a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan, his life
:14:11. > :14:21.changed forever. The 29`year`old was lucky to survive but lost both his
:14:22. > :14:24.legs. That was five years ago. Now his life has changed forever again.
:14:25. > :14:28.He's become the first person in the UK to be fitted with the world's
:14:29. > :14:31.most advanced prosthetic knee. Peter Marshall has been to meet him. New
:14:32. > :14:34.day, new prosthetic knee, no lease of life. All I want to do is run
:14:35. > :14:40.around with my son and be a good dad. This enables me to do it. In
:14:41. > :14:43.mafsh 2009, Gregg Steve son from Foulridge near Burnley was serving
:14:44. > :14:48.with the Royal Engineers in Helmand, he was hit by an IED losing both
:14:49. > :14:53.legs, his left one above the knee. He has now benefitted with the
:14:54. > :14:57.Genium com. 3, the most technologically advance advanced
:14:58. > :15:01.prosthetic knee ever made. The Americans have been using it. We
:15:02. > :15:05.were thinking when are we getting our turn. It's really excited. The
:15:06. > :15:08.possibilities are more than I can comprehend. Zblts programmed by
:15:09. > :15:12.laptop with settings for walking, climbing, cycling, running, even
:15:13. > :15:17.golf or exercising. You change between settings with a remote
:15:18. > :15:23.control. It's not like I have to wear a suppose civic leg to go to
:15:24. > :15:28.the gym. This is my every day leg, I can press two buttons, ready to G no
:15:29. > :15:32.excuses. It is allowing Gregg to move closer and closer to his
:15:33. > :15:35.preamputation abilities. We'll probably never achieve #17b 00% but
:15:36. > :15:39.we are definitely closer than we could have been before in the past.
:15:40. > :15:43.It's waterproof, not affected by dust or dirt and Greg hopes the
:15:44. > :15:48.improved agility will help him find new work. A lot of doors that were
:15:49. > :15:52.shut are now reopened or at least I can explore the possibility. So
:15:53. > :15:57.I'll roll my sleeves up and get on with it. The knee costs around
:15:58. > :16:02.?70,000, funded by the Department of health and the mo. OD it's hoped
:16:03. > :16:07.other injured servicemen and amputees will benefit from the same
:16:08. > :16:12.technology in future years. Astonishing.
:16:13. > :16:20.They seem to replicate real legs. They move exactly like real legs.
:16:21. > :16:24.The new Super League season is under way and St Helens' fans will get the
:16:25. > :16:26.first look at their two big signings from Down Under against Warrington
:16:27. > :16:30.on Thursday. Luke Walsh and Mose Masoe have
:16:31. > :16:33.swapped Sydney for St Helens, along with their families, and it's come
:16:34. > :16:38.as quite a culture shock. As Stuart Pollitt's been finding out. When
:16:39. > :16:42.your partner's career takes him to Sydney, that's great. But what about
:16:43. > :16:46.when he wants to move, during the height of the Australian summer to
:16:47. > :16:50.St Helens? Did you know anything about the
:16:51. > :16:54.place? Not really. That it was cold. It was cold, it rained a will the
:16:55. > :17:05.and that we'll come in probably the worst time of year. Luke Walsh and
:17:06. > :17:11.Mossy McSowy moved their families here before Christmas to prepare
:17:12. > :17:15.their families for their first game. It is easier for us, we are in the
:17:16. > :17:19.team, we make mates straight away. It is harder for the girls. They are
:17:20. > :17:23.used to going to the beach and going to the coffee shop. Here they have
:17:24. > :17:27.to stay indoors and out of the cold. The hardest things for the girls to
:17:28. > :17:31.adapt to? Apparently the taste of the meat, the absorbcy of the nap
:17:32. > :17:35.yans the quality of the washing machines. All my stuff was turning
:17:36. > :17:38.blu. I'm in the used to the different washing machines and
:17:39. > :17:43.washing liquids. It is what you are used to. Once you get used to it, it
:17:44. > :17:48.is all right. There are other things we are finding to love here, too.
:17:49. > :17:54.Shopping is pretty good. I think it is on that wall. As their partners
:17:55. > :18:00.grow to love the area, Saints fans could grow to love this pair. This
:18:01. > :18:03.is tipped as the next legends at Langtree Park. What can fans expect
:18:04. > :18:07.from you, some big hits? Yeah, for about five minutes. I think you can
:18:08. > :18:12.expect good things this year. We have a pretty good squad. Exciting
:18:13. > :18:15.times at the Saints. So with the Super League season and helpfully
:18:16. > :18:18.spring just around the corner, the beaches of Sydney might not seem so
:18:19. > :18:30.inviting in the months to come. We have a new presenter in the
:18:31. > :18:38.studio. This is lily. Lily, are you going to wave at yourself? Right,
:18:39. > :18:47.how do I introduce these lot? These are trip lets from Trafford. They
:18:48. > :18:55.are full of energy and bundles of joy. They've become an internet
:18:56. > :18:58.sensation since their dad, Lee Parkinson, posted a video showing
:18:59. > :19:01.Lily, Charlie and Harry developing from babies to playful toddlers
:19:02. > :19:12.This is Harry and this is Charlie. A good start. It's no ordinary
:19:13. > :19:15.family video. It's made up of second`long clips recorded every day
:19:16. > :19:17.for a year. We'll meet Lily, Charlie and Harry in a few moments. First,
:19:18. > :19:24.Mark Edwardson's been taking a A year in the life of the park kin
:19:25. > :19:30.son triplets, lily, Charlie and Harry. At play. Being fed and
:19:31. > :19:34.feeding each other. Learning skills for the future, like driving and
:19:35. > :19:38.dancing. At bathtime and of course at
:19:39. > :19:43.bedtime. Precious family moments. Shared with a huge worldwide
:19:44. > :19:48.audience. Hiya. A week is a long time in
:19:49. > :19:53.politics. For the triplets a year flies by in just six minutes.
:19:54. > :19:58.Birthday, holidays and Christmas. Their lives charted at the speed of
:19:59. > :20:04.a second a day. # Happy new year... #
:20:05. > :20:09.They were born prematurely on Mother's Day in 2011. The film's
:20:10. > :20:13.maker, their dad Lee, says he is amazed by the speed of their
:20:14. > :20:19.developing personalities. So far, the online video has been
:20:20. > :20:25.seen more than 62,000 times. For Lee Parkinson, the film's flagged up one
:20:26. > :20:32.big thing ` he needs to get home to oralston earlier to spend even more
:20:33. > :20:38.quality time with the triplets. I'm not sure we are still on air. They
:20:39. > :20:43.are trying to wreck the studio. You were in the paddling pool. I was.
:20:44. > :20:49.So, Lee, you have filmed a second of your triplets every day for, for how
:20:50. > :20:53.long? Well, the video that's on YouTube for a whole year. I'm now
:20:54. > :20:56.into the second year. You must have noticed a huge difference on how
:20:57. > :20:59.they have changed and grown? Massively. Even though it is just
:21:00. > :21:04.one second, just the personalities that are coming through in that
:21:05. > :21:08.video is amazing. Did it make you see them differently than you do
:21:09. > :21:11.every day, looking back at that Yeah, you can start it see really
:21:12. > :21:17.how the individual personalities have really started to develop. But,
:21:18. > :21:21.as well, for me, it gave me a real nice reflection on how I was
:21:22. > :21:26.parenting and different things like that. What are the individual
:21:27. > :21:32.personalities. I gather lily is the boss? Are you the bossy one? She's
:21:33. > :21:37.writing our script. I think you are, playing with my computer.
:21:38. > :21:39.And Charlie... He seems a little more
:21:40. > :21:46.He seems quieter, is that just today? And what is Harry doing?
:21:47. > :21:50.He is a new car. Christine, you you did this with Lee when he was a
:21:51. > :21:56.little boy. You filmed him and regularly get out the family videos,
:21:57. > :22:00.an embarrassing moment. I have three boys, they are frightened when new
:22:01. > :22:04.girlfriends come on the scene. I notice Lee's wife is not here.
:22:05. > :22:09.Presumably she is having a good lie down. A bit of a break. Lily is off.
:22:10. > :22:13.Where are you off to? So you are going to carry this on now. It has
:22:14. > :22:17.been a huge hit on the internet Were you surprised? Absolutely. I
:22:18. > :22:22.mean for me I was only doing it for sort of family who we don't see as
:22:23. > :22:26.often, because we have family in Gibraltar and different family in
:22:27. > :22:31.Australia. Do you think you will do the same when you have your next
:22:32. > :22:36.three? I think I've done my ` that's me done now. So... Well, thank you
:22:37. > :22:40.so much. That was an absolutely pleasure and a joy.
:22:41. > :22:41.Lovely to meet you all. Have you written good scripts for us to read
:22:42. > :22:51.next? Yes. Well, you better read them and
:22:52. > :22:54.see what she has written. Last night we saw TV presenter
:22:55. > :22:58.Davina McCall reduced to tears after she was helped from the icy waters
:22:59. > :23:01.of Windermere on the Cumbrian leg of her challenge for Sport Relief.
:23:02. > :23:05.She's doing a 500 mile run, cycle and swim from Edinburgh to London
:23:06. > :23:09.for the charity. Well, she managed to cycle over 60 miles to Accrington
:23:10. > :23:12.after that and today she set off from Lancashire heading for the Peak
:23:13. > :23:17.District. We caught up with her in edale as she underwent physiotherapy
:23:18. > :23:20.and told me how today's journey had affected her. The minute I stop I
:23:21. > :23:28.have a bit of a stretch and now that we've stopped for the day, I will be
:23:29. > :23:33.going to have a `` an ice bath. After the ice bath, a massage. Then
:23:34. > :23:38.they will try to force feed me thousands of calories. It's like
:23:39. > :23:47.being a goose that's going to be culled for foi gras. Then I'm
:23:48. > :23:50.allowed to go to bed. You do look better today, better than we saw you
:23:51. > :23:54.certainly yesterday when you came out of Windermere. How was today's
:23:55. > :23:59.Friday Accrington to edale? The fist part in Accrington was an absolute
:24:00. > :24:03.nightmare. We had an hour`and`a`half uphill at the very beginning of the
:24:04. > :24:09.ride in driving rain, horrific winds and I got really despondent and a
:24:10. > :24:14.bit hopeless about it all. And I just thought ` how am I going to do
:24:15. > :24:19.this and then do a run down the Pennine Way, I thought ` I just
:24:20. > :24:23.can't do it. But as I have done in previous days, when I just think ` I
:24:24. > :24:27.cannot do any more, I have nothing left to give, doesn't anybody know
:24:28. > :24:33.I'm just a mum of three children, who do they think I am, I'm not some
:24:34. > :24:38.blooming... Then I pull it out of the bag and I think ` how did I do
:24:39. > :24:42.that? You have had to put up with terrible weather in the north West.
:24:43. > :24:47.You swam Windermere which you describe as your nemesis but have we
:24:48. > :24:51.made up with it in the north`west with our support? Not just your
:24:52. > :24:58.support, it is so warm and loving and kind and I have just loved it,
:24:59. > :25:03.and your countryside is absolutely breathtaking. I mean, really
:25:04. > :25:07.exquisite. Well, we have loved having you here and we think you are
:25:08. > :25:10.so courageous. Well done for everything you have done. We wish
:25:11. > :25:13.you well on the next leg of your challenge. Da veinia, thank you very
:25:14. > :25:17.much. Thank you very much and thanks for all the donations people are
:25:18. > :25:22.already making. If they want to donate, they can donate at
:25:23. > :25:27.bbc.co.uk/Sport Relief. Fantastic. We will let you go and
:25:28. > :25:31.enjoy your physio. If I stop talking to you now, he is going to cause me
:25:32. > :25:37.real pain, you know that now, don't you. Like that, oh my God!
:25:38. > :25:41.Mean. Well done to her. The studio is back to... I didn't hear a lot
:25:42. > :25:47.about it. We have only just cleared the studio.
:25:48. > :25:50.We have two of these. We have our keyboards back. Dianne was keeping
:25:51. > :25:53.out of the way. I'm no fool. They could have helped
:25:54. > :25:57.you with the weather. I need help. There is a bit of
:25:58. > :26:00.everything in this. Bot about the Nothing you really want. Good
:26:01. > :26:05.evening. Not a good picture as we head through the next 12 to 14
:26:06. > :26:08.hours. For many `` the showers that developed in the Irish Sea adds
:26:09. > :26:11.forecast have fallen as snow as they moved across the region and caused a
:26:12. > :26:14.couple of problems. They have lay on the ground in places. There is more
:26:15. > :26:18.of that to come as you head through this evening and overnight.
:26:19. > :26:21.Particularly for the more southern parts of the region, Merseyside
:26:22. > :26:24.Greater Manchester, parts of Cheshire could have a covering of
:26:25. > :26:28.snow when you get up first thing tomorrow morning. With that in mind
:26:29. > :26:32.we have a Met Office yellow warning. There could be one to two sented
:26:33. > :26:36.metres of snow. That will not happen everywhere. A good portion of the
:26:37. > :26:39.first part of the night is dry. Breaks in the cloud cover with
:26:40. > :26:43.temperatures falling. There was a little knot of weather. It was due
:26:44. > :26:46.to stay in the Midlands but it is now trundling further northment look
:26:47. > :26:49.at that. As it works through t could stick on the ground. When you get up
:26:50. > :26:53.tomorrow morning, there could be a light dusting of snow. It doesn t
:26:54. > :26:56.take much snow to cause all sorts of problems, so there could be travel
:26:57. > :26:59.disruption in places. Overnight temperatures are chilly. Tomorrow it
:27:00. > :27:02.is all about the wind. You wake up with many places dry. It doesn't
:27:03. > :27:06.take long for this line of rain to stop whipping towards us. Then we
:27:07. > :27:11.have a Met Office amber warning about the strength of the wind. This
:27:12. > :27:15.is 60 to 70 miles per hour gusts from be around 2 owe clockpm onwards
:27:16. > :27:19.there. Could even be 80 miles per hour. There are brutal winds. There
:27:20. > :27:23.could be power outages, travel disruption and trees down. I'm glad
:27:24. > :27:27.to be back. A horrible forecast. A really
:27:28. > :27:31.dangerous forecast. I will have more on that in the late bulletin. Great,
:27:32. > :27:37.thank you very much. We all need to take a deep breath.
:27:38. > :27:40.I think you two need a massage like Davina did, after dealing with the
:27:41. > :27:41.triplets. Thank you very much for watching.
:27:42. > :27:47.Good night. See you later. Goodbye.
