:00:00. > :00:00.That's it for now. We're back with the late news at 10.40pm.

:00:00. > :00:20.Good evening. Former Preston and England winger Sir Tom Finney died

:00:21. > :00:23.yesterday at the age of 91. This afternoon Preston North End played

:00:24. > :00:31.at home and Richard Askam was there. Richard, what was the atmosphere

:00:32. > :00:35.like? As you can imagine, it has been a very emotional day. People

:00:36. > :00:41.are still coming and laying flowers and scarves and other tributes to

:00:42. > :00:45.Sir Tom Finney. It was emotionally charged inside the ground earlier

:00:46. > :00:50.on. You can now see pictures of a floral tribute being given to

:00:51. > :00:53.members of Sir Tom Finney 's family. Including his son Brian We

:00:54. > :01:03.also had a minutes silence before the game. A very emotional day. It

:01:04. > :01:10.has all been about paying tribute to Preston 's most famous son.

:01:11. > :01:14.Tributes today to a former foot Baller who Preston North End

:01:15. > :01:20.describe as their greatest. How can a man I never met, never had the

:01:21. > :01:26.privilege to see play have such a profound effect on me? So sad.

:01:27. > :01:35.Everybody loved Sir Tom Finney. He was about an absolutely fantastic

:01:36. > :01:39.figure on and off the pitch. When he finished, the club sort of died a

:01:40. > :01:46.little bit. He is a big man for Preston North End. I rank him as

:01:47. > :01:54.bubbly one of the best sportsmen we have produced on this islands. His

:01:55. > :01:57.contribution is just amazing. He was chair of the local health authority

:01:58. > :02:02.for a time and he did so much for charity. A Freeman of the city, his

:02:03. > :02:09.family have been offered a civic funeral.

:02:10. > :02:12.We should not forget that Sir Tom Finney was a truly outstanding foot

:02:13. > :02:18.Baller but what set him apart was his connection with people,

:02:19. > :02:22.certainly in this city. One lady summed it up, she was in tears, she

:02:23. > :02:27.said to me, he was a truly great player but he was an even greater

:02:28. > :02:30.man. A 46`year`old lorry driver from

:02:31. > :02:33.Manchester has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was

:02:34. > :02:36.found dead near his car in Warrington earlier. Police are

:02:37. > :02:39.appealing for witnesses to the incident itself or any erratic

:02:40. > :02:44.driving on Manchester Road in Rixton around 8am to come forward.

:02:45. > :02:49.The body of a 15`year`old boy was found in Oldham this morning. Police

:02:50. > :02:52.are treating the death as unexplained and say while there s

:02:53. > :02:54.nothing to suggest any wrong`doing, they can't rule out third`party

:02:55. > :02:57.involvement. A postmortem examination will now take place

:02:58. > :03:00.It's been Congenital Heart Defect Week and an 11`year`old boy from

:03:01. > :03:03.Blackburn who has the condition has been raising money with the help of

:03:04. > :03:11.his school friends. Emma Blackburn reports.

:03:12. > :03:17.The shoelaces are tied. The new school tracksuits revealed. And

:03:18. > :03:24.these year six pupils are ready for their sponsored walk. All to help

:03:25. > :03:29.their friend. Walking four times around the pitch at Blackburn

:03:30. > :03:35.Rovers, the group know just what this challenge means. The mile long

:03:36. > :03:40.walk is the furthest he has completed. He was born with

:03:41. > :03:44.congenital heart disease and had his hurt `` third major operation

:03:45. > :03:52.recently. He is now stronger than ever and is raising money. It is a

:03:53. > :03:57.great achievement because what he has got, it is very rare. He looks

:03:58. > :04:03.normal but it is something that he suffers. I always used to get really

:04:04. > :04:10.breathless easily. But now, I have done a mile. It is a good

:04:11. > :04:15.achievement. And his friends think so too.

:04:16. > :04:21.Here's the weather with Sara Blizzard.

:04:22. > :04:27.Good afternoon. It certainly felt quite cold today. The wind has

:04:28. > :04:31.changed direction now. It will come from the North West overnight. But

:04:32. > :04:35.we will see the showers diminishing and the wind easing off a little bit

:04:36. > :04:39.more. A frost will start to form across parts of the region tonight.

:04:40. > :04:46.Gradually we will start to see clear skies. We are likely to see a frost

:04:47. > :04:51.across parts of Cheshire. A cold start to Sunday. But it will be a

:04:52. > :04:56.much better day. Quite a bit of sunshine around tomorrow. The wind

:04:57. > :05:01.will be a lot lighter. Maybe the odd shower coming into the Isle of Man

:05:02. > :05:03.towards the evening. Certainly feeling pleasant in the sunshine.

:05:04. > :05:16.Wet and breezy again by Monday. Hello, good evening, finally some

:05:17. > :05:19.quieter weather on the way for the British Isles for the remainder of

:05:20. > :05:23.this weekend, also somewhat for the week ahead. More on that in a

:05:24. > :05:30.moment. Tonight, the biggest story is the winds continuing to ease

:05:31. > :05:33.Into the small hours of Sunday, the winds will be light. Late showers

:05:34. > :05:38.for Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. A lot of

:05:39. > :05:43.groundwater around elsewhere with a wide spread rural frost predicted we

:05:44. > :05:46.are looking at the prospect of patches of ice on Sunday. There is a

:05:47. > :05:52.lot of sunshine to come throughout the day. With light winds it will

:05:53. > :05:56.feel pleasant. Highs to Scotland and Northern Ireland of six or seven. To

:05:57. > :05:59.the south, eight, nine or ten in the south-east of England. To the west,

:06:00. > :06:03.showers will brush into Northern Ireland through the afternoon. High

:06:04. > :06:08.pressure, as we move from Sunday into Monday, gives way to an area of

:06:09. > :06:12.low pressure couldn't coming in from the Atlantic. This is nothing like

:06:13. > :06:16.the bull's-eye beast we have been looking at in the last week, it s a

:06:17. > :06:20.slacker affair. The wind will be lighter. That is what we are talking

:06:21. > :06:21.about for the week ahead. Areas of low
