:01:06. > :01:09.anniversary. Brook collectibles has been owned by three generations, but

:02:24. > :02:31.endured temperatures of 50 degrees celsius. Steve Beech reports.

:02:32. > :02:35.It's known as the toughest footrace on earth. The Marathon des Sables is

:02:36. > :02:40.a gruelling multi`stage run in one of the world's most inhospitable

:02:41. > :02:43.climates, the Sahara Desert. And this year one of the select few who

:02:44. > :02:52.completed the race was 51`year`old Alice Morrison, who's based in

:02:53. > :02:56.Manchester. I had never run a marathon, the longest I had done was

:02:57. > :03:00.a half marathon. I trained in the Peak District and canals of

:03:01. > :03:02.Manchester and suddenly I had catapulted to running marathons in

:03:03. > :03:04.the desert for six days. The rules require competitors to be

:03:05. > :03:08.self`sufficient. They're given a space in a tent each night and

:03:09. > :03:13.water, but other than that Alice had to carry everything she needed to

:03:14. > :03:16.survive over 150 miles of running. It really is incredibly tough, you

:03:17. > :03:22.have days when you are burning up in the sand, you are crashing onto

:03:23. > :03:26.rocks. You are slamming down dunes. Then you realise you still have 40:

:03:27. > :03:28.It is more to go. It really is the toughest footrace on air.

:03:29. > :03:31.All that effort paid off though. Alice has raised ?6,500 so far for

:03:32. > :03:34.the learning disability charity Mencap. And despite crippling

:03:54. > :03:55.Elsewhere in the championship yesterday, Blackburn drew with

:03:56. > :03:58.Yeovil and Bolton drew against Charlton, while Wigan beat Reading

:04:17. > :04:22.and a storming first period set up a crushing eight`try win over Exeter

:04:23. > :04:23.this afternoon. Here's the weather with Charlie

:04:24. > :04:33.Slater. Not a bad end to the day, with

:04:34. > :04:38.decent brightness for some as before the sun goes down. It is the early

:04:39. > :04:41.hours of Easter Sunday and it's these largely dry have quite cloudy

:04:42. > :04:46.as well as those temperatures fall to around three or four degrees. As

:04:47. > :04:49.for Easter Sunday you will be pleased to you it is a largely dry

:04:50. > :04:54.day and there is brightness to be had at times as well. It is a little

:04:55. > :04:58.bit easy and that will take a bite out of temperatures. Bank holiday

:04:59. > :04:59.Monday looks decent with dry and great weather.

:05:00. > :05:20.That's all for now. Goodbye. Good evening. The temperature

:05:21. > :05:22.reached 18 degrees in the sunshine across parts of the Scottish

:05:23. > :05:26.Highlands. Temperatures will drop this evening and overnight. A chilly

:05:27. > :05:32.night again for most of us. Sky is clear to begin with, but as the

:05:33. > :05:37.night wears on cloud will feedback back and across central and eastern

:06:04. > :06:07.afternoon. The heaviest rain likely to be south of the M4. Every now and

:06:08. > :06:12.again you will get a bit heading towards the London area into the

:06:13. > :06:13.South Midlands and into South Wales and the south-west. Late on
