:00:00. > :00:10.That is all of the sport. Thank you. That's it from us, we are back

:00:11. > :00:12.Good evening. Tributes are being paid

:00:13. > :00:15.to the Labour MP for Heywood and Middleton Jim Dobbin,

:00:16. > :00:18.who's died suddenly at the age of 73.

:00:19. > :00:21.He'd represented the constituency since 1997.

:00:22. > :00:33.In my view, that's absolutely outrageous. Jim Dobbin was on a trip

:00:34. > :00:38.to Poland with the parliamentary committee when he died. He was due

:00:39. > :00:43.to fly home today. The 73`ydar`old is a microbiologist by thred decades

:00:44. > :00:45.before becoming a Rochdale Council, and eventually securing the Heywood

:00:46. > :00:51.and Middleton seat of the 1897 election. He was a forthright man,

:00:52. > :00:57.never afraid there were afr`id to speak his mind. On occasion, he had

:00:58. > :01:00.to take on the party itself, but he did what he believed was right that

:01:01. > :01:05.the people of Heywood and Mhddleton, and he was a fantastic honotr

:01:06. > :01:09.outstanding local MP. The MP was a committed Roman Catholic, and in

:01:10. > :01:12.2008, he was made a Papal Knight by Pope Benedict.

:01:13. > :01:16.Mr Dobbin with the local MP for Fusilier Lee Rigby, the soldier who

:01:17. > :01:19.was murdered in bullets last year. One of the first phone calls I

:01:20. > :01:23.received after the tragic ddath of Lee was from Jim Dobbin, expressing

:01:24. > :01:28.his sorrows for the family. He was always there for me, and he made

:01:29. > :01:35.great inroads into making the family feel secure in their outcomds in the

:01:36. > :01:39.future. He was a great supporter of the family. MPs and colleagtes from

:01:40. > :01:41.both sides have been paying tribute today.

:01:42. > :01:44.The Labour leader Ed Miliband said Jim Dobbin was a dedicated public

:01:45. > :01:46.servant with a passion for helping others. The Foreign Office `re

:01:47. > :01:51.providing assistance to his family. Thousands of people cheered

:01:52. > :01:54.on some of the best cyclists in the world as the Tour of Britain

:01:55. > :01:57.got underway in Liverpool today More than 100 riders did

:01:58. > :01:59.eight laps of the city, starting at the Liver Buildhng,

:02:00. > :02:02.then out to Sefton Park and back. Claire Fallon was there

:02:03. > :02:06.for the 'Grand Depart'. It might not have the profile

:02:07. > :02:09.of its French counterpart. The streets of Liverpool packed

:02:10. > :02:30.for the first stage I love cycling, the kids love

:02:31. > :02:35.cycling, so it is great. Wh`t is the atmosphere like? Who have you been

:02:36. > :02:43.looking out for? Mark Cavendish and we go. , secondly. You make it sound

:02:44. > :02:44.like he is a consolation prhze! He is, really.

:02:45. > :02:49.Sir Bradley Wiggins, mobbed by fans as he arrived.

:02:50. > :02:57.Do you guys cheering on tod`y? It's a bit hard, because he loves

:02:58. > :03:01.Cavendish. He is 47, his hero is half his age! I am with the Team Sky

:03:02. > :03:03.boys all the way, so badly. With eight laps around Liverpool,

:03:04. > :03:05.that at least meant eight goes But come the end,

:03:06. > :03:12.it wasn't Wiggo or Cavendish... ..but Marcel Kittel who madd

:03:13. > :03:14.the best of the sprint finish. And, of course,

:03:15. > :03:22.there is another winner. The crowds have come out in their

:03:23. > :03:25.thousands as usual, and to see the images of the city, right across the

:03:26. > :03:27.nation and internationally, is just great for us.

:03:28. > :03:32.Tomorrow the Tour moves on `s they race from Knowsley to North Wales.

:03:33. > :03:37.And you can get the best coverage of the second stage of

:03:38. > :03:41.the Tour of Britain as it ldaves Merseyside tomorrow

:03:42. > :03:43.from Tony Snell at Breakfast and throughout the day

:03:44. > :03:51.700 people have re`created the mass enlisting of workers

:03:52. > :03:55.from a Wirral factory at the start of the First World War.

:03:56. > :03:58.In 1914, the staff at Lever Brothers in Port Sunlhght

:03:59. > :04:01.travelled from the village to Chester to sign up for

:04:02. > :04:04.the 13th Battalion of the Cheshire Regiment.

:04:05. > :04:08.It was the biggest contingent from a single workplace in the country and

:04:09. > :04:21.Those 700 men signed up to the 3th Battalion, which was very mtch a

:04:22. > :04:26.Powles' battalion. They worked together in the factory, thdy lived

:04:27. > :04:29.together in the village, and they also socialise together, so the

:04:30. > :04:33.removal of that significant number of people must have had enormous

:04:34. > :04:35.effect on both factory life and also village life, and, of coursd, many

:04:36. > :04:36.never came back. The last two remaining airborne

:04:37. > :04:38.Lancaster bombers were in the skies over the Lake District

:04:39. > :04:40.this afternoon. The flypast over Brockhole near

:04:41. > :04:43.Windermere was in memory of local man Archie Johnston, who was in the

:04:44. > :04:47.original 'Dambusters' 617 Spuadron. He passed away in April and today

:04:48. > :04:51.would have been his 100th bhrthday. In Superleague this afternoon,

:04:52. > :04:57.Widnes won away at Bradford 32` 2, and Salford beat bottom`of`the`table

:04:58. > :05:02.London Broncos by 58 points to 6 Let's get to K Forster, now, who has

:05:03. > :05:21.the weather. Good evening. A fabulous dax today.

:05:22. > :05:25.Blue skies that of Britain, and we are in for Simla weather for the

:05:26. > :05:29.next stage. It looks like another fine day. Not a lot changes for the

:05:30. > :05:33.rest of the day and overnight. We stay dry, clear skies for a time,

:05:34. > :05:37.and temperatures will be falling quite quickly. Blows down to around

:05:38. > :05:41.four or 5 degrees in some rtral spots by the morning. Some list and

:05:42. > :05:44.fog around first thing as wdll, but that clears quite quickly through

:05:45. > :05:49.the morning, and it will be another fine day. Fairweather cloud here and

:05:50. > :05:54.there, but many of us stayed right and sunny all day, and with light

:05:55. > :05:55.winds, temperatures around 06 or 17 Celsius. Shouldn't feel too bad at

:05:56. > :06:00.all. We stay dry, but fairly cloudy, for the rest

:06:01. > :06:07.of the week. That is it frol the. Goodbye.

:06:08. > :06:12.Good evening. Most of us had a lovely end to the weekend but the

:06:13. > :06:16.exception was the north-east of Scotland. It was cold, wet and windy

:06:17. > :06:19.but the low responsible is now moving away and we have high

:06:20. > :06:22.pressure moving its way in from the West. The pressure is rising all the

:06:23. > :06:25.while over the next few days which will settle things down nicely and

:06:26. > :06:31.it will be dry pretty much all week. But the forecasting headache will be

:06:32. > :06:34.the amount of cloud. The next few hours will still be pretty wet and

:06:35. > :06:35.windy in the north-east of Scotland but through
