:04:30. > :04:37.speaking Arabic. They were shouting. There was guns. Alan was

:04:38. > :04:42.the trip's technical expert. It looks like he was singled ott with

:04:43. > :04:48.the help of his passport. They tried to find out if we were spies. After

:04:49. > :04:55.this ordeal finished and we came out of our rooms, that is when we find

:04:56. > :04:56.out he had gone. Compelled to return despite

:04:57. > :05:09.the risk as a British non`Mtslim. When he bear `` when he held the

:05:10. > :05:15.baby, it was very powerful for him and it changed his whole life.

:05:16. > :05:21.Today, a humanitarian organhsation has called for his release. Do not

:05:22. > :05:28.take his life to pay for thd crimes that international governments have

:07:07. > :07:14.This is one of the most serhous investigations I have come `cross

:07:15. > :07:28.and it is a tragedy for her family. The case has shocked and surprised

:07:29. > :07:40.this woman. It has already dscalated and they should have done something.

:07:41. > :07:43.We need the right people on the job. Merseyside police said they accepted

:09:41. > :09:51.responsibility for controllhng the crowd to the fans themselves. The

:09:52. > :09:54.jury also saw CCTV footage `nd a crush developed outside. He was

:09:55. > :09:58.worried people outside may be killed and wanted to help them. He was

:09:59. > :10:03.asked if he should not have ordered the gates leading to the tunnel

:10:04. > :10:12.where the pen is developed to be closed and he said he would expect

:10:13. > :10:17.the control room would realhse something serious was going on. What

:11:26. > :11:28.when a radio message came over that Sarah had been attacked by one

:11:29. > :11:34.He says he ran flat`out tow`rds the tiger enclosure and when he got to

:11:35. > :11:37.the tiger enclosure, he could see the tiger in there with Sar`h at its

:11:43. > :11:50.When the firearms team arrived, he took a rifle down

:11:51. > :11:53.its closure and could see the tiger but couldn't get a clear shot.

:11:54. > :11:58.He said it was a difficult decision and took a speculative shot

:11:59. > :12:06.He moved to a higher position and could see the tiger with Sarah.

:12:07. > :12:11.He said the tiger stood over Sarah and I daren't take that cle`r shot

:12:12. > :12:15.because if I had done, I could have hit her.

:12:16. > :12:18.He finally did take a shot, trying to hit the tiger's shoulder.

:12:19. > :12:21.He wasn't clear if he hit it but the tiger took off and went

:12:22. > :12:27.When it was secure, he went and recovered Sarah.

:12:28. > :12:31.Finally he told the inquest jury that emergency procedures wdnt

:12:32. > :12:37.exactly to plan, that everybody did exactly as they should have done.

:12:38. > :12:46.One of the region's MP's is warning that thousands

:12:47. > :12:50.of defence jobs could be at risk in the North West if Scotland votes

:12:51. > :12:53.It's a reminder that the Scottish Referendum has hugd

:12:54. > :12:58.There are implications for jobs business and politics.

:12:59. > :13:01.Our political editor Arif Ansari assesses how the region could be

:13:02. > :13:09.If Scotland pushes the independence button tomorrow,

:13:10. > :13:13.there's going to be fallout for the region's defence industry.

:13:14. > :13:16.BAE Systems in Barrow is prdparing to build the next generation

:13:17. > :13:27.There is a real question ovdr the big spend items if overnight

:13:28. > :13:35.The Trident fleet's based in Faslane,

:13:36. > :13:41.The SNP has pledged to closd both, and it would be difficult to open

:13:42. > :13:46.In Barrow no submarines means no jobs.

:13:47. > :13:50.Do things Scottish independdnce wars have an impact on jobs here?

:13:51. > :13:54.Probably, due to the balance of shipbtilding

:13:55. > :13:59.They will find another base for them somewhere else.

:14:00. > :14:04.What you think about Scottish independence?

:14:05. > :14:17.But the Scots would still eat bhscuits.

:14:18. > :14:20.This bakery in Nelson in Lancashire sells ?150,000 worth

:14:21. > :14:33.We go to Scotland twice a wdek which means our export manager would

:14:34. > :14:36.have to get the documentation for each shipment and it wastes time.

:14:37. > :14:39.But the real crunch would be political.

:14:40. > :14:43.The majority of MPs in the NW are Labour, including here

:14:44. > :14:52.But if Scotland leaves the union suddenly it becomds much

:14:53. > :14:56.more difficult for Labour to form a majority government at Westlinster.

:14:57. > :15:01.Whether this will annoy people in the north`west

:15:02. > :15:04.so much that they will say they will say maybe we should have devolution,

:15:05. > :15:09.that would be very much somdthing in the long term.

:15:10. > :15:12.So politically, economicallx and militarily the Scots hold

:15:13. > :15:25.It's always nice to receive a card or two on your birthday, but how

:15:26. > :15:31.Well Betty Musker will need some help with hers

:15:32. > :15:48.after an online appeal by hdr great`granddaughters went vhral

:15:49. > :15:57.They have come in all shapes and sizes. Cards from far and whde for

:15:58. > :16:08.betting. Did you have a big party for your 100th birthday? Yes. What

:16:09. > :16:14.is you do? Can you remember? No The cards for her 104th birthdax could

:16:15. > :16:20.be the most memorable yet. What are you expecting for your birthday this

:16:21. > :16:27.year? What would you like? Not really anything. I am getting too

:16:28. > :16:34.old. Do you want a quiet birthday? Quiet. Friends and family h`ve got

:16:35. > :16:40.other plans. Great`granddaughter put it online about her grandma being

:16:41. > :16:44.104. She likes to make cards and things like that. She likes

:16:45. > :16:47.receiving cards. The great`grandmother has been laking

:16:48. > :16:51.cards for friends and familx for over 30 years but since a mdssage on

:16:52. > :16:56.Facebook, she has been on the receiving end and the cards have

:16:57. > :17:00.flooded in from all over thd world. There is now a very special room

:17:01. > :17:08.dedicated to all of her birthday cards. There are over 1500 cards

:17:09. > :17:10.sent in so far. Cards from well`wishers as far away as the

:17:11. > :17:16.Cayman Islands, Malaysian, South Africa, lots from America,

:17:17. > :17:20.Australia, Canada and Hong Kong It is heart`warming to know people care

:17:21. > :17:25.enough to send Betty a card. There is only one card I would like to get

:17:26. > :17:29.and I have written to the International Space Station to see

:17:30. > :17:33.if they will send one. It would be out of this world. With fivd weeks

:17:34. > :17:42.to go until her birthday on October 24, there is still plenty of time

:17:43. > :17:50.for that to arrive. At the rate they are coming in, she will havd

:17:51. > :17:53.hundreds more. There is one from us on the way. Happy birthday. Richard

:17:54. > :17:56.is here to the sport. And Richard, Liverpool made

:17:57. > :17:58.their long`awaited Champions League return last night, but tonight's

:17:59. > :18:00.attention is on Manchester City away Yes, the five`time European

:18:01. > :18:07.Champions a first up for Thd Blues. Very difficult,

:18:08. > :18:11.but City did win there last season. Bayern are also hit by injuries

:18:12. > :18:14.key men Franck Ribery and Arjen City were knocked out

:18:15. > :18:19.in the competition's first knock out phase by Barcelona last season

:18:20. > :18:21.after finishing runners`up to Bayern But according to the captain,

:18:22. > :18:26.it's time to show City can finally I think it is time

:18:27. > :18:33.for us to start making thosd games close and make up the gap bdtween us

:18:34. > :18:40.and maybe those top three clubs Full match commentary from Lunich

:18:41. > :18:43.tonight on BBC Radio Manchester If Liverpool are to progress in

:18:44. > :18:48.The Champions League there's a lot of improving to be done according

:18:49. > :18:50.to skipper Steven Gerrard. He issued that warning

:18:51. > :18:55.after converting a stoppage time penalty to seal a 2`1 win at home

:18:56. > :18:58.to Bulgarian Champions Ludogorets. Mario Balotelli's first Reds goal,

:18:59. > :19:00.put them ahead with just nine minutes to go but then a lapse

:19:01. > :19:02.in concentration at the other end led to an dqualizer

:19:03. > :19:06.in the very last minute. The final twist went Liverpool's way

:19:07. > :19:10.when Manquillo was brought down in the box setting up Gerrards's

:19:11. > :19:16.stoppage time heroics. Jose Riga is still looking

:19:17. > :19:19.for his first victory as Bl`ckpool manager after losing one`nil

:19:20. > :19:21.at home to Watford last night. It's been a difficult start to

:19:22. > :19:24.the season on and off the fheld for a club that was in the Premier

:19:25. > :19:28.League just three years ago. Unrest among the supporters is

:19:29. > :19:32.significant and swelling as as Steve A decade ago, Blackpool's

:19:33. > :19:46.ground looked like this. Now it is a modern stadium tnder

:19:47. > :19:48.the ownership They were promoted with hugd

:19:49. > :19:54.celebrations and now the cltb seems in melt down going through six

:19:55. > :19:57.managers in two years and struggling Things aren't smiley

:19:58. > :20:04.at the seaside any more. The chairman

:20:05. > :20:06.and the manager have been arguing They got together on Saturd`y

:20:07. > :20:12.put their differences aside. Would fans be happy with

:20:13. > :20:17.the change of ownership? We would like to see them do more to

:20:18. > :20:30.support the manager and the team and put money into the side and try

:20:31. > :20:34.and develop a club to the extent Last night the fans back

:20:35. > :20:41.their players as they lost They think the penalty cappdd

:20:42. > :20:50.off a bad night. Despite the rows and another defeat

:20:51. > :20:53.here tonight, the fans want success. There has been improvement

:20:54. > :21:00.and there is a bit of light. We have a good enough team to get

:21:01. > :21:03.some points in I have supported them for

:21:04. > :21:12.so long and I know how much they Blackpool have one point

:21:13. > :21:15.after their first seven gamds and it is the worst start to

:21:16. > :21:26.a season in their history. Into the Football League now

:21:27. > :21:29.and how about this for a st`tistic. The three goals scored by Bolton's

:21:30. > :21:33.Joe Mason in last night's 3`2 win over Rotherham was the first

:21:34. > :21:35.wanderers hat`trick in 12 ydars It also secured his side's

:21:36. > :21:38.first league win of the season. In League One, Rochdale scored four

:21:39. > :21:42.for the second time in thred games, Matty Done getting them on

:21:43. > :21:45.the way to a drubbing of Walsall. And Ryan Lowe's classy free kick

:21:46. > :21:48.was the highlight of Bury's win over Stevenage which moves them

:21:49. > :21:55.up to second in League Two. The Salford Red Devils owner

:21:56. > :21:58.Dr Marwan Koukash has told ts it's very, very likely he'll buy

:21:59. > :22:00.a club in Australia. He's currently in discussions with

:22:01. > :22:03.a couple of NRL clubs But as he told me earlier today that

:22:04. > :22:19.doesn't mean he'll forget It is very likely but it nedds to be

:22:20. > :22:25.the right deal for me personally, for the club in Australia and for

:22:26. > :22:33.what I am trying to create `s an international partnership of Salford

:22:34. > :22:37.and another club. I have no intention of leaving Salford,

:22:38. > :22:44.provided that I can deliver what I had hoped and that is to grow the

:22:45. > :22:50.club. I know footage clubs have talked about partnering with

:22:51. > :22:52.Australian teams but this is a much closer partnership.

:22:53. > :22:55.Doctor Koukash had lots mord to say to me about the Red Devils

:22:56. > :22:58.and his plans and we'll havd more of what was a pretty revealhng

:22:59. > :23:15.No news on Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo?

:23:16. > :23:18.Meet Tenacious ` he's only 08 months old, but he's a record breaker.

:23:19. > :23:21.The young ram or tup from L`ncashire has created history by sellhng

:23:22. > :23:24.for the highest price that a single sheep has ever fetched

:23:25. > :23:31.A farmer paid nearly ?10,000 for Tenacious, who's been ddscribed

:23:32. > :23:35.as the Christiano Ronaldo of the sheep world.

:23:36. > :23:46.Jessie Phillips has been to meet him.

:23:47. > :23:55.Weighing in at 112 kilograms or nearly 18 stone, this is Tenacious.

:23:56. > :24:01.An average RAM costs ?500 btt he sold at auction for nearly 00,0 0. I

:24:02. > :24:07.knew he was good but I didn't know he was that good. I was in shock

:24:08. > :24:11.more than anything. I wasn't expecting ?9,500 for a sheep. He was

:24:12. > :24:20.bred by a butcher but is destined to be a breeder. You look at Rded

:24:21. > :24:25.traits. You look at the double muscle, he has muscle coming out of

:24:26. > :24:32.every bone in his body. You know when you have something good. He has

:24:33. > :24:36.been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo thanks to the record transfdr fee.

:24:37. > :24:42.Instead of moving to Real M`drid, he has moved from Lancashire to

:24:43. > :24:49.Cumbria. He has a good head on him, a good shoulder, a good length to

:24:50. > :24:59.him and a good loin in here. He has a good wide back end. With ` body

:25:00. > :25:03.like that, they use are alrdady flocking to him. George hopds one of

:25:04. > :25:05.them will breed a new Tenachous and you never know, he may well break

:25:06. > :25:26.another record. They are the legs. Diane is here. It

:25:27. > :25:27.was a glorious day again today. It thrills me when our weather is

:25:28. > :25:38.better than London. A wonderful day today and everyone

:25:39. > :25:42.is asking how long will it last There is some subtle changes over

:25:43. > :25:45.the next couple of days. Temperatures will drop as wd have

:25:46. > :25:53.through Sunday. We have somd bright weather around and it will feel

:25:54. > :25:57.fresher. Today is gorgeous. We had temperatures up to 23 Celsits. I

:25:58. > :26:02.don't think it would be quite as sunny as we go through tomorrow but

:26:03. > :26:08.it is still going to be a nhce one. It will be a slow start as ht turns

:26:09. > :26:12.into a fine day. Many places are looking fairly grey and there is a

:26:13. > :26:16.lot of cloud cover working hts way in from the other side of the

:26:17. > :26:22.Pennines. Close to the Pennhnes you might risk a shower but for most of

:26:23. > :26:27.us, it is a dry night and a gloomy night. Visibility will not be

:26:28. > :26:32.brilliant. The wind is light and the cloud cover and warm temper`tures

:26:33. > :26:39.means it will feel warm and muggy through the night. You have that

:26:40. > :26:45.slows lot `` slow starts tolorrow morning and it will take a while to

:26:46. > :26:48.improve. The cloud cover thhns and it will try and break. It won't be

:26:49. > :26:55.as pretty as it has been through the day. West is best and the ftrther

:26:56. > :27:01.away from the hills you are and to the coast, the, the brighter the

:27:02. > :27:07.skies will be. It is still ` good day. You have that easterly breeze

:27:08. > :27:12.that is bringing that muggy air 22 Celsius is a distinct possibility as

:27:13. > :27:16.you go through the day. There could be some showers as you move through

:27:17. > :27:22.Friday afternoon and they could be belters. That is what we ard looking

:27:23. > :27:27.to. Showers? We haven't had any of them for a while. It is amazing when

:27:28. > :27:37.you get up in the morning and it has been so still. It is really calm. We

:27:38. > :27:38.are stretching out summer. Thanks for watching. Good night.
