:01:22. > :01:25.today, say their concerns are being ignored.

:01:26. > :01:28.The people of Bury do not feel like they are getting a voice.

:01:29. > :01:31.The council seems to be pushing the spatial framework through.

:01:32. > :01:34.We are still bumping into people on the streets now that

:01:35. > :01:36.It's supposed to be a consultation period.

:01:37. > :01:39.So this is what the walk is about today, to raise awareness.

:01:42. > :01:44.Once these fields are gone, there is no

:01:45. > :01:48.We just need to make sure everybody registers their

:01:49. > :01:52.Also today, a similar protest in Oldham, where a huge

:01:53. > :01:54.crowd of people marched to the Tandle Hill Country Park.

:01:55. > :01:59.Greater Manchester's green belt land makes up just under half

:02:00. > :02:08.orange would be vulnerable to development.

:02:09. > :02:11.Thousands of hectares of green belt land could be lost

:02:12. > :02:14.This site here at Elton Reservoir is just over 200 hectares,

:02:15. > :02:17.space potentially for around 3,000 new houses.

:02:26. > :02:27.increasing by a projected figure of almost 300,000 over

:02:28. > :02:31.Those against the plans say taht building on green

:02:32. > :02:33.belt areas will be disastrous for generations to come.

:02:38. > :02:40.feedback and look at it very, very carefully.

:02:41. > :02:46.Unfortunately, there is not enough brownfield land in Bury to deliver

:02:47. > :02:49.the housing targets we've been set, which is 12,700 by 2035,

:02:50. > :02:51.which it means that in Bury and other places,

:02:52. > :02:54.elements of the green belt may have to be released.

:02:55. > :02:59.Something protesters say they will continue to oppose.
