:00:31. > :00:33.A terraced house reduced to ruins in an instant, neighbours left

:00:34. > :00:42.It was just like a bomb had gone off.

:00:43. > :00:44.Literally, the ground shook, the trees shook in me garden.

:00:45. > :00:47.And we turned around and there was just black smoke everywhere.

:00:48. > :00:49.You could smell, like, gas but, like, an oil burning smell.

:00:50. > :00:52.I stuck my head out the window, we saw the neighbours flooding out

:00:53. > :00:55.and everything like that, so we realised at that point

:00:56. > :00:57.it was something big, we thought it was, like,

:00:58. > :01:01.I could see two of the people were injured that I seen.

:01:02. > :01:03.One person was bloodied up on the head, just

:01:04. > :01:08.My niece actually lives in the property over the road,

:01:09. > :01:11.she phoned me hysterical, crying, she said there's been

:01:12. > :01:13.an explosion, the couch nearly come off the floor,

:01:14. > :01:15.a few neighbours' windows have gone in, and I flew

:01:16. > :01:22.It's now about two and a half hours since the blast happened,

:01:23. > :01:24.the road, Cecil Road, is now completely cordoned off.

:01:25. > :01:29.The Fire Service have sent in search dogs to just check

:01:30. > :01:31.whether there are any other casualties in the wrecked building.

:01:32. > :01:33.Thankfully there were no further casualties found,

:01:34. > :01:41.This kitten was pulled alive from the wreckage by firefighters.

:01:42. > :01:44.It appears to have suffered some blast and burn injuries.

:01:45. > :01:46.We're just waiting on the RSPCA and hopefully we can get

:01:47. > :01:50.And at this stage you're treating it as a gas explosion?

:01:51. > :01:53.We suspect it may have been a gas explosion but there is a joint

:01:54. > :01:56.investigation under way by ourselves, the police,

:01:57. > :01:59.and National Grid gas are on the scene and are isolating

:02:00. > :02:02.Houses on either side have been affected by the blast,

:02:03. > :02:04.it's not certain when immediate neighbours will be able

:02:05. > :02:09.So tonight two people remain in hospital, one in Salford Royal,

:02:10. > :02:13.the other in Wythenshawe, and the investigation

:02:14. > :02:20.into exactly how this explosion was caused continues.

:02:21. > :02:23.The funeral has taken place for two cousins who were killed

:02:24. > :02:27.in an alleged hit-and-run in Oldham on New Year's Eve.

:02:28. > :02:31.Hundreds of people came to pay their respects to the youngsters,

:02:32. > :02:36.Zaneta Krokova, who was 11, and 12-year-old Helina Kotlarova

:02:37. > :02:39.were holding hands crossing a road when they were hit by a car.

:02:40. > :02:41.Four men have been charged in relation to their deaths.

:02:42. > :02:50.They were inseparable during their short lives, rarely apart.

:02:51. > :02:56.Today their small white coffins were taken to St Paul's Church in Oldham,

:02:57. > :03:01.just metres from the hit-and-run which killed Helina Kotlarova on New

:03:02. > :03:05.Year's Eve and claimed the life of Zaneta Krokova.

:03:06. > :03:09.Ahead of the funeral I spoke to Helena's family.

:03:10. > :03:14.She was the craziest one out of the sisters.

:03:15. > :03:20.She was, like, holding them together.

:03:21. > :03:26.we don't know if we're going to get through it.

:03:27. > :03:29.Neighbours here will tell you the girls always wanted to be

:03:30. > :03:39.This selfie was taken shortly before they died.

:03:40. > :03:43.When it happened they were holding hands, and they've passed away,

:03:44. > :03:53.Mourners stood at the sides and back, the church was so full.

:03:54. > :03:55.An accordion and the girls' favourite songs were played

:03:56. > :04:02.The Reverend Nick Andrews said he knew the girls personally.

:04:03. > :04:10.They would often sit on the bench or walls of the church.

:04:11. > :04:12.He said Helena was full of energy and life, Zaneta

:04:13. > :04:18.The deaths of both cousins had affected this community deeply.

:04:19. > :04:22.After the service a large cloud followed the procession

:04:23. > :04:28.to a crematorium, where the final goodbyes were said.

:04:29. > :04:34.Four men are in custody after being charged over the incident.

:04:35. > :04:37.The former Crewe Alexandra football coach Barry Bennell has pleaded not

:04:38. > :04:42.guilty to eight child-sex offences, dating back to the 1980s.

:04:43. > :04:45.The 63-year-old, who appeared at Chester Crown Court

:04:46. > :04:47.via videolink from HMP Woodhill, has been remanded in custody

:04:48. > :05:05.Police investigating the disappearance of a woman

:05:06. > :05:12.from Fulwood near Preston 15 months ago have discovered a body.

:05:13. > :05:15.A man has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

:05:23. > :05:24.shifts to help cope with mounting pressures this winter.

:05:25. > :05:26.The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust is also

:05:27. > :05:28.looking at innovative ways to overcome bed blocking and ease

:05:29. > :05:38.More and more patients are coming through the doors.

:05:39. > :05:44.It's consultant Paul Grout's job to treat them.

:05:45. > :05:48.At the moment we have every single cubicle bar one full of patients

:05:49. > :05:51.that have come in on ambulances needing proper assessment.

:05:52. > :05:55.The problem we have at the moment is we haven't got anywhere

:05:56. > :05:58.for those ambulance patients to be put, consequently ambulances

:05:59. > :06:01.are backing up here waiting to be able to hand over their patients.

:06:02. > :06:05.Queues build up when beds in the main hospital are blocked

:06:06. > :06:10.with patients fit to be discharged but waiting for a bed

:06:11. > :06:12.in a nursing or care home to become free.

:06:13. > :06:15.So the hospital is innovating and has just commissioned 12

:06:16. > :06:24.Faversham House nursing home in Greater Manchester is one of over

:06:25. > :06:26.40 homes and two hospitals in the Trafford area piloting

:06:27. > :06:31.a new system to reduce delays in finding care-home beds.

:06:32. > :06:35.Previously we used to have a team who would ring the nursing homes

:06:36. > :06:39.on a Friday morning and complete a spreadsheet with the available

:06:40. > :06:42.bed information and e-mail it out to the teams needing to know

:06:43. > :06:48.It can be out of date by the time the phone call is finished.

:06:49. > :06:53.This new Bed State Tracker app gives real-time information on what beds

:06:54. > :06:57.It can be updated every minute of the day.

:06:58. > :06:59.The Lancashire company which has developed it believes it

:07:00. > :07:08.could save the NHS millions in lost bed days.

:07:09. > :07:11.We have a vision that a discharge coordinator will go down

:07:12. > :07:14.the ward and find a home and in three clicks have that person

:07:15. > :07:21.Pressures faced by the NHS won't ease any time soon

:07:22. > :07:24.but on the front line they are doing all they can to offer quality care

:07:25. > :07:32.A statue of Cilla Black has been unveiled in Liverpool,

:07:33. > :07:35.as part of celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the opening

:07:36. > :07:41.Cilla, who died two years ago, was a cloakroom girl there.

:07:49. > :07:52.Cilla Black's family were in Liverpool for the unveiling.

:07:53. > :07:55.They commissioned the statue partly as a thank you to the city

:07:56. > :08:04.It moved us and profoundly affected us in a good way,

:08:05. > :08:07.and we wanted to try and do something that had a lasting...

:08:08. > :08:16.you know, something that would last and be a good thing.

:08:17. > :08:19.The sculptor worked with the family to get the likeness right.

:08:20. > :08:21.They have told us stories, given us photographs we would never

:08:22. > :08:24.have seen and have been very involved, I have seen Robert

:08:25. > :08:26.regularly, they couldn't have helped any more than they did.

:08:27. > :08:29.Cilla was a cloakroom girl at the original Cavern

:08:30. > :08:34.The statue shows Cilla in her '60s pomp, Vidal Sassoon bob

:08:35. > :08:37.and miniskirt, on which you'll find key events from Cilla's life,

:08:38. > :08:45.I love it and she would be amazed to have a statue of herself

:08:46. > :08:49.The Cavern started as a jazz club but became world famous

:08:50. > :09:12.Cilla's family have kept the copyright of the statue and any

:09:13. > :09:16.reproductions is going to go to Liverpool charities.

:09:17. > :09:20.They have captured her hair and her figure really, really well.

:09:21. > :09:23.I think it is absolutely marvellous and a great tribute to Cilla.

:09:24. > :09:31.That is all the news from me. Now let's look at the weather.

:09:32. > :09:34.It has been grade, doll and drizzly and a challenge to find anything

:09:35. > :09:40.different from that through the next week. The positive is we will see

:09:41. > :09:46.some mild temperatures, thanks to this area of high pressure and where

:09:47. > :09:50.it is situated. If you follow the isobars around, that is where the

:09:51. > :09:56.wind is blowing. We will see relatively mild temperatures. In the

:09:57. > :09:59.more southern parts of the country the air is coming towards them from

:10:00. > :10:05.the continent, which is colder. There is a north-south divide

:10:06. > :10:09.through the week, we have the pulled up and drizzly stuff but the

:10:10. > :10:13.temperatures are infinitely better. The cloud base is very low, it looks

:10:14. > :10:17.like this cloud is pushing into wards the early hours. You will

:10:18. > :10:26.start the day at temperatures of four or five or six, the cloud base

:10:27. > :10:34.is low, the visibility is poor. Numbers and bad during the day,

:10:35. > :10:40.seven or 8 degrees. Overnight, five to seven. By Wednesday you might

:10:41. > :10:44.catch a chink of sunshine as the weather front polls away. Again the

:10:45. > :10:50.numbers, eight or 9 degrees, you wouldn't expect that at this time of

:10:51. > :10:57.year. Thursday or Friday should be largely dry pitches. Next the

:10:58. > :11:02.national picture and the cooler figures for the South of England.

:11:03. > :11:06.perhaps a little milder. If you like the mild weather, you'll have to

:11:07. > :11:10.head elsewhere in the country. Find out more in the national weather

:11:11. > :11:14.forecast. Our weather is going against normal expectations this

:11:15. > :11:17.week. In Highland Scotland some snow to be seen on the hills.

:11:18. > :11:23.Temperatures as high as 12 Celsius today. Over the next few days the

:11:24. > :11:27.coldest air is in the far south-east of England where there is sunshine

:11:28. > :11:32.to be had. Four or five Celsius in Kent. Differences remain over the

:11:33. > :11:33.next few days and here is why. I pressure in
