:01:40. > :01:42.The council added that its powers to intervene are limited.

:01:43. > :01:46.We've seen, I think, today, a lack of senior leadership

:01:54. > :01:56.The National Union of Teachers has told us there has been too much

:01:57. > :01:58.pressure on staff under an oppressive

:01:59. > :02:03.Others disagree with that, and Mrs Brindle's previously

:02:04. > :02:07.defended her leadership, saying she's 100% committed.

:02:08. > :02:09.Wherever your sympathies lie, it is clear from these pictures

:02:53. > :02:55.they say, a fleeing fox, accompanied by masked men and women

:02:56. > :03:04.There were dogs flying in all directions trying to get to the fox.

:03:05. > :03:07.The fox, at this point, had gone to the back of the garden.

:03:08. > :03:10.If you'd had small animals, pets, even children in the garden,

:03:11. > :03:16.You don't know what these dogs would have done.

:03:17. > :03:21.Gwen Stanley says she came out of her house

:03:22. > :03:26.There were cars everywhere, the police had to block the street off.

:04:31. > :04:32.They were lead by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who described him

:04:33. > :04:39.Sir Gerald was first elected in 1970 as MP for Manchester Ardwick,

:04:40. > :04:42.and then in 1983 as member for Gorton, when he famously

:04:43. > :04:45.called his party's left-wing 1983 election manifesto

:04:46. > :04:50."the longest suicide note in history".

:04:51. > :04:54.As a constituency MP, he was probably as good as I met.

:04:55. > :04:58.Not truly a political bruiser, far too subtle to be a bruiser.

:04:59. > :05:03.He ripped people apart with the rapier of his tongue,

:05:04. > :05:06.and those who were on the receiving end very often came off

:05:56. > :05:58.As Brexit Britain gets ready to leave the European Union,

:05:59. > :06:13.First stop is the region's Brexit capital, Blackpool.

:06:14. > :06:16.Where more voted to leave the EU than anywhere

:06:17. > :06:24.In each place we stop, we'll be asking people

:06:25. > :06:28.what they want from the Brexit deal, how they see post-Brexit Britain,

:06:29. > :06:32.and we'll be inviting them into our caravan to talk

:06:33. > :06:40.to them about their Brexit hopes and fears.

:06:41. > :06:46.We need to be independent and get back what we've lost.

:06:47. > :06:49.Why do think so many people voted to leave?

:06:50. > :06:51.I think they all voted on the immigration ticket.

:06:52. > :06:55.It wasn't about immigration or anything, just that the poverty

:06:56. > :07:00.level in England has been quite shocking, and to think how much

:07:01. > :07:06.They told us we couldn't have crooked cucumbers, crooked bananas,

:07:07. > :07:17.We shouldn't be told, we're independent.

:07:18. > :07:20.Not only did Blackpool vote overwhelmingly to break free

:07:21. > :07:23.from the European Union, there are people here predicting

:07:24. > :07:31.We noticed, almost as soon as Brexit happened, I think

:07:32. > :07:34.it was a combination of the weakening pound,

:07:35. > :07:38.maybe a few fears and concerns over travelling abroad,

:07:39. > :07:41.but between those two issues, we definitely saw a

:07:42. > :07:47.What Blackpool lacks in year-round sun,

:07:48. > :07:54.in makes up for in kilt-wearing knife jugglers up ladders.

:07:55. > :08:01.Right now, it's the low season at the Pleasure Beach.

:08:02. > :08:05.This lot are on a tour about the site's history.

:08:06. > :08:11.Across this park, they're getting ready for the future and a new ride.

:08:12. > :08:13.But they're buying it from Germany, where you don't get as much

:08:14. > :08:18.roller-coaster for your pound at the moment.

:08:19. > :08:21.The flip side is, it's costing us a lot more money to install

:08:22. > :08:23.the ride, which will be opening next year.

:08:24. > :08:27.That wasn't so good, but we'll weather that one

:08:28. > :08:30.Hopefully the increase in visitor numbers this year

:08:31. > :08:37.As we leave Blackpool, and town were most voted to leave

:08:38. > :08:40.the EU, many are predicting a bright future.

:08:41. > :08:44.But in other places, not everyone is heading off

:08:45. > :08:52.Football, and Match of the Day follows this programme,

:08:53. > :08:54.so if you don't want to know tonight's Liverpool result,

:08:55. > :09:01.The Reds were beaten 3-1 by Leicester this evening,

:09:02. > :09:07.Philippe Coutinho scoring the only goal for the visitors.

:09:08. > :09:09.One of Everton's greatest players, Alex Young,

:09:21. > :09:33.Alex passed away in hospital near Edinburgh after a short illness.

:09:34. > :09:40.That's all the news and sport from me. Let's get a look at the weather

:09:41. > :09:45.with Diana. It's cold out there, and will stay

:09:46. > :09:49.that way through the week. As we take a look at the weather for the

:09:50. > :09:53.week ahead, not many changes, the week progresses as it starts. A cold

:09:54. > :09:57.feel, wintry at times, and if you haven't got the wintry stuff, it

:09:58. > :10:03.will be wet. Wednesday looks like being the driest day at the moment.

:10:04. > :10:07.Across the region, a little lull over the last few hours, but comes

:10:08. > :10:12.the next line pushing their way in. The Met office has issued a weather

:10:13. > :10:17.warning for the whole north west of England, untreated services could

:10:18. > :10:21.have ice, so it could be slippery. This show is that worked their way

:10:22. > :10:26.in, the highest level route you may catch some low-level slow. The

:10:27. > :10:34.numbers on the chart tell the story, two on the coasts, Rowley minus one.

:10:35. > :10:38.Frost taking time to recover. At times you will see the showers,

:10:39. > :10:42.again, they could be wintry just about anywhere. Covering on high

:10:43. > :10:48.roots as the day goes on, showers turning to rain as the day goes on.

:10:49. > :10:53.And then later it all mergers on us. It won't feel too warm as you walk

:10:54. > :10:57.around, around 7 degrees tomorrow night. More showers coming through,

:10:58. > :11:01.Wednesday could be one of the brighter days, after that, Thursday

:11:02. > :11:03.and Friday, showers at times. The public at times,

:11:04. > :11:13.John Hammond has the weather for the rest of the country.

:11:14. > :11:18.According to one man-made definition, spring begins in a

:11:19. > :11:26.couple of days, but in reality weather does it own thing at its own

:11:27. > :11:28.pace. This was taken in Midlothian, a funny old day, some
