:00:23. > :00:25.But now, after tens of thousands of birds were culled in Lancashire

:00:26. > :00:27.because of avian flu, the restrictions have been relaxed,

:00:28. > :00:29.and the birds are allowed back outdoors again.

:00:30. > :00:31.Our environment correspondent Judy Hobson is at a poultry

:00:32. > :00:38.A taste of freedom for the first time this year.

:00:39. > :00:40.These hens are free range, but they have not been

:00:41. > :00:45.These restrictions were brought in to reduce the risk of avian flu

:00:46. > :00:53.To start with we just had to make sure they got more straw,

:00:54. > :00:56.and, as you can see, we have given them more area

:00:57. > :01:04.We give them green material as though they were outside,

:01:05. > :01:06.which is quite hard to do, but we've had plenty of cabbages

:01:07. > :01:10.and broccoli and cauliflowers and all sorts of things.

:01:11. > :01:13.In some parts of the country, restrictions were lifted six

:01:14. > :01:20.High Legh is near Rostherne Mere in Cheshire where wild birds

:01:21. > :01:23.gather, so it is classed as a high-risk area.

:01:24. > :01:26.But migrating birds have now left the country, or are breeding,

:01:27. > :01:35.All poultry are at still risk of catching bird flu,

:01:36. > :01:44.We are encouraging everybody to have high security.

:01:45. > :01:47.We want all the hens outside, make sure they are fed inside,

:01:48. > :01:49.not outside, where wild birds could be.

:01:50. > :01:57.Keep as many people off your site, only essential visitors on the site.

:01:58. > :02:00.Any feed spillages, make sure you clear them up straight away.

:02:01. > :02:03.It has been a difficult few months for the poultry industry.

:02:04. > :02:05.Despite extra measures to keep farms clean, some,

:02:06. > :02:07.like this on in Lancashire, had to cull thousands of birds.

:02:08. > :02:10.As migrating birds return later in the year, the chances of another

:02:11. > :02:15.The risk has not gone away completely.

:02:16. > :02:20.Across Europe, we still are seeing cases of the disease in kept birds,

:02:21. > :02:24.and they're still finding the disease in wild birds.

:02:25. > :02:27.Although the risk is still there, this farmer is just pleased that,

:02:28. > :02:31.for now, his hens can roam free again.

:02:32. > :02:36.Especially at this time of year, in the spring, you could tell

:02:37. > :02:47.Businesses around the North West say they're owed money after a company

:02:48. > :02:49.that built a power station in Greater Manchester

:02:50. > :02:50.went into liquidation with ?40 million in debts.

:02:51. > :02:53.Duro Felguera UK Limited was the lead contractor to build

:02:54. > :02:56.a new gas-fuelled plant, which was opened by the Energy

:02:57. > :03:00.The power station is still operating, as it's run

:03:01. > :03:09.It's the country's newest power station, built at a cost of more

:03:10. > :03:14.than ?700 million and opened exactly a month ago by the Energy Minister.

:03:15. > :03:17.The power station is still operating as normal.

:03:18. > :03:20.It's owned by an entirely separate company and is providing energy

:03:21. > :03:26.But the contractor that was in charge of building it has

:03:27. > :03:33.It was a huge project, involving 35,000 cubic metres of concrete,

:03:34. > :03:38.850 construction workers and over 40 other companies from

:03:39. > :03:43.But now many of those subcontractors are owed money.

:03:44. > :03:48.The debts in this region alone total over ?1 million.

:03:49. > :03:51.This business based in Bolton made some of the doors for

:03:52. > :03:56.We are currently owed ?90,000, including VAT.

:03:57. > :03:59.And what impact is that going to have on your company?

:04:00. > :04:01.We were going to expand this year, buy new machinery

:04:02. > :04:06.But we have basically had to put that back now six months.

:04:07. > :04:11.I'm totally disgusted with it all, to be honest.

:04:12. > :04:14.Some businesses in the north west are owed hundreds of thousands

:07:27. > :07:30.To me, it is more about staff being a role model.

:07:31. > :07:33.We know that one of the key things people are coming

:07:34. > :07:35.into hospital with are strokes, heart problems, and a lot

:07:36. > :07:40.So anything that people can do to help themselves

:07:41. > :07:43.and not come into hospital is a really good thing.

:07:44. > :07:45.More than 20 of the town's firms have signed up

:07:46. > :07:47.to the programme, devised by a local not-for-profit group.

:07:48. > :07:50.They do run gyms, but mainly they use phone apps and online coaching

:07:51. > :07:52.to support people who don't generally do fitness.

:07:53. > :07:57.What happens if you don't exercise a lot, and you're literally

:07:58. > :08:01.You need somebody there to hold your hand and motivate

:08:02. > :08:06.And more importantly, it is about changing your behaviour.

:08:07. > :08:11.This is not about quick fixes, this is about long-term behaviour change.

:08:12. > :08:13.The hope is that hundreds more in this town will make
