:00:00. > :00:00.and then in the distance I have heard an ambulance coming and I have

:00:00. > :00:11.just broken out into an absolute sweat.

:00:12. > :00:15.For each family the sounds and scenes of that night still haunt

:00:16. > :00:26.And to think that we were there and there is all those people

:00:27. > :00:30.that were killed, injured, and we are sat here.

:00:31. > :00:35.There are reminders everywhere of last week's attack.

:00:36. > :00:38.The Manchester Arena remains closed behind barriers.

:00:39. > :00:42.Sold-out concerts have been cancelled.

:00:43. > :00:45.Outside the building all thoughts are with those

:00:46. > :00:59.We've just been to a hotel and we just parked our car and

:01:00. > :01:01.there was some armed police checking a car and be

:01:02. > :01:06.We got really panicky and we had to get out.

:01:07. > :01:10.The terror threat level has reduced but this kind of

:01:11. > :01:12.police presence is still judged necessary, perhaps even just for

:01:13. > :01:19.And people need that, including the injured.

:01:20. > :01:22.This girl is 11 and she has only just returned

:01:23. > :01:24.home from hospital after two operations on her leg which was

:01:25. > :01:30.It has made me quite a frightened person

:01:31. > :01:34.which is something that I never have been.

:01:35. > :01:38.I am very wary of everything around me and my surroundings.

:01:39. > :01:41.Manchester has experienced a week of grief and mourning.

:01:42. > :01:46.Seven days that have shaken spirits in the city.

:01:47. > :01:50.But it has been a time of unity despite

:01:51. > :02:12.That's all from me, stay with us on BBC One,

:02:13. > :02:17.Tonight people have gathered in St Anne's Square in Manchester,

:02:18. > :02:20.exactly a week on from the attack at the Arena.

:02:21. > :02:32.APPLAUSE You can hear the rounds of applause

:02:33. > :02:35.here in St Anne's Square in Manchester. A minute's silence has

:02:36. > :02:41.just finished. It has been impeccably observed by everybody

:02:42. > :02:45.here. Hundreds of people, as you can see, and a floral tributes since I

:02:46. > :02:49.was last here have at least tripled in size. It is unbelievable to see.

:02:50. > :02:58.Let's speak to Councillor Pat Carney. It is poignant, touching,

:02:59. > :03:03.had to put it into words. We are one big Manchester family, on this

:03:04. > :03:07.painful anniversary we are thinking about the people we've lost.

:03:08. > :03:10.Thinking about the people who are struggling for their health in

:03:11. > :03:17.hospitals. But we wanted to show their families who are directly

:03:18. > :03:20.affected, who have gone through unendurable pain that people in

:03:21. > :03:24.Manchester and Greater Manchester are thinking about them tonight and

:03:25. > :03:31.we'll think about them in future nights and future days. We saw over

:03:32. > :03:34.the weekend, the run took place, the great Manchester games, the

:03:35. > :03:39.outpouring of emotion here. These floral tributes are something the

:03:40. > :03:43.city has never seen before. It is an emotional seesaw. We've thought

:03:44. > :03:47.about the families and thought about the pain and we hear all the stories

:03:48. > :03:51.about the beautiful people we've lost, and then we've had to go back

:03:52. > :03:55.and have a normal life as well. It has been an emotional seesaw, always

:03:56. > :03:58.been up and down, down and up, but at the forefront all the time is

:03:59. > :04:03.thinking about the pain they going through. When we see the faces of

:04:04. > :04:06.these people we've lost and you hear the tales and people in hospital

:04:07. > :04:11.struggling for their health, Manchester connects with them. A

:04:12. > :04:16.final thought on going forward. It has been an emotional week, but now

:04:17. > :04:19.we have to deal with funerals. The city has to continue to pull

:04:20. > :04:25.together. There will be a lot of tears and grief. We're going to see

:04:26. > :04:28.horrible things, with funerals, as you say, but we will get through the

:04:29. > :04:32.other side. We want to thank all the people who have turned up here

:04:33. > :04:36.tonight who wanted to be here. Manchester, when we've cried as much

:04:37. > :04:40.as we've cried and we're down as much as we are down, we will get to

:04:41. > :04:45.the other side. Thank you very much indeed for joining us. Pat Carney

:04:46. > :04:49.from Manchester City Council. A very poignant and emotional evening.

:04:50. > :04:54.Still hundreds of people here. But you have to speak in hushed tones,

:04:55. > :04:58.such is the raw emotion and the sadness here, exactly a week after

:04:59. > :05:04.that awful suicide bombing at the Manchester Arena. A minute's silence

:05:05. > :05:08.at 10.31 to mark that moment, impeccably observed. As you can hear

:05:09. > :05:12.now, the places still silent. Back to you.

:05:13. > :05:14.Roger, thank you. From St Anne's Square.

:05:15. > :05:17.MI5 is to hold an inquiry into the way warnings about the bomber

:05:18. > :05:20.The security services were alerted to his extremist views

:05:21. > :05:22.on three occasions, and this afternoon the search

:05:23. > :05:25.for evidence switched to a refuse tip near Bury.

:05:26. > :05:28.Here's our Chief Reporter, Dave Guest.

:05:29. > :05:32.Just what these white suited forensic teams are looking

:05:33. > :05:36.for on this rubbish dump in Bury, we don't know, but we do know

:05:37. > :05:39.it is connected to the ongoing Arena bomb investigation.

:05:40. > :05:44.This just the latest place to come under scrutiny.

:05:45. > :05:47.The police arrived at this street in the Whalley Range district

:05:48. > :05:51.of Mancehster earlier this morning and cordoned off this house.

:05:52. > :05:54.I just came out and I've seen all this, and so I've come out

:05:55. > :05:58.It's worrying when something's happening on your doorstep.

:05:59. > :06:01.I don't understand what they're doing here.

:06:02. > :06:03.I've lived next door to them for over ten years,

:06:04. > :06:08.and nothing like this has ever happened before.

:06:09. > :06:11.No one was arrested here or at a property in Chester,

:06:12. > :06:12.that was also raided by counterterrorism

:06:13. > :06:19.This is a fast moving investigation and these raids have now become

:06:20. > :06:21.a daily occurrence and they are not confined to the north-west.

:06:22. > :06:25.At a raid in Shoreham in Sussex this morning, a man of 23

:06:33. > :06:34.grabbing some clothes to go to my girlfriend's house,

:06:35. > :06:37.and I was like OK, there's police outside my door, what's going on?

:06:38. > :06:40.It brings to 14 the total number of people who are currently

:06:41. > :06:44.being questioned by the police in the wake of the Arena attack.

:06:45. > :06:48.And investigators are still trying to establish what Salman Abedi did,

:06:49. > :06:51.and where he went, in the days and hours before

:06:52. > :06:57.The manager of this convenience store believes the man

:06:58. > :07:00.in the black hoodie is Abedi, shopping on the day before carrying

:07:01. > :07:03.Looking at that CCTV, it's the same guy that's been

:07:04. > :07:06.in the shop several times in the past.

:07:07. > :07:09.He looks exactly like the guy that they're saying

:07:10. > :07:16.The shop's close to a flat where police believe Abedi spent

:07:17. > :07:22.The trainers on this man match those worn by the killer on this image

:07:23. > :07:28.GMP say they're aware of the shop footage and enquiries are underway

:07:29. > :07:32.to establish whether it is connected to the attack investigation.

:07:33. > :07:36.They want anyone with potentially useful footage to get in touch.

:07:37. > :07:38.Meanwhile, MI5 is to hold an inquiry into the way warnings

:07:58. > :08:00.People who were not injured but were in the Arena or tried

:08:01. > :08:03.to help the victims of the terrorist attack last week are being
