:00:32. > :00:35.Women, men, children and dogs came out in force today in Flixton

:00:36. > :00:39.to give a loud and clear message to Conservative-led

:00:40. > :00:43.The aim of our group is to ensure that Flixton

:00:44. > :00:53.It was given to the people by the Council in 1935.

:00:54. > :00:57.The plan to build 750 houses on a golf course here is part

:00:58. > :01:00.of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, a scheme to build 225,000

:01:01. > :01:12.Protesters say they're prepared to make a lot of noise to keep

:01:13. > :01:14.this land as green belt, and believe the Council

:01:15. > :01:17.underestimate the importance of this area.

:01:18. > :01:21.I know they said that Flixton House, part of it is going to be saved,

:01:22. > :01:27.Unfortunately, you lose faith and the trust is not there,

:01:28. > :01:30.so you know, eventually, it's all going to be taken.

:01:31. > :01:33.There are football teams on here, especially the cricket teams,

:01:34. > :01:35.they shouldn't be taking this away from us.

:01:36. > :01:39.To take green belt status away from any land put it under

:01:40. > :01:41.threat of development, there's no doubt about that.

:01:42. > :01:43.Conservative councillors on Trafford Council told me

:01:44. > :01:46.they weren't able to be here today, but they do say they are sympathetic

:01:47. > :01:53.They say the consultation will run until the 16th of January,

:01:54. > :01:59.If the feeling here from young and old is anything to go by,

:02:00. > :02:03.the response to the consultation could be into many thousands.

:02:04. > :02:16.A man appeared in court today charged with the murder of

:02:17. > :02:20.Mr Hillman was found with gunshot wounds on Lloyd Close

:02:21. > :02:27.22-year-old John-Paul Johns - from Willow Way, Croxteth -

:02:31. > :02:36.Police are becoming increasingly concerned about a woman
