0:00:17 > 0:00:2044-year-old Tommy Baker was attacked after he left a gym on Friday.

0:00:24 > 0:00:27Tommy Baker was from Everton and a father of two.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30He had a grown-up son and teenager.

0:00:30 > 0:00:34On Friday morning, he was working out at the Phoenix Fitness Centre

0:00:34 > 0:00:36in Old Swan.

0:00:36 > 0:00:40He left the gym soon after 8am and tried to get into his car -

0:00:40 > 0:00:44that's where he was shot twice in the head and the chest.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46He was taken to hospital, where he died.

0:00:46 > 0:00:53A postmortem examination confirmed it was a result of gunshot wounds.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Police believe the killer arrived at the scene in

0:00:55 > 0:01:00a small, grey or silver hatchback, parked it next to Mr Baker's

0:01:00 > 0:01:01car and waited for him.

0:01:01 > 0:01:04The killer then sped away towards Liverpool city centre.

0:01:04 > 0:01:09Officers say motorists may have had to take action to avoid the vehicle.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Tommy Baker was known to the police, and they believe this

0:01:12 > 0:01:15was a targeted attack, but they're stressing that,

0:01:15 > 0:01:19at this stage, they don't know the motive.

0:01:19 > 0:01:23The gym is in part of the Stanley Meat Fish Market,

0:01:23 > 0:01:26a few miles outside the city centre.

0:01:26 > 0:01:29Detectives have stepped up patrols in the area,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32and they're looking at CCTV footage.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35They say it would have been busy at the time of the murder,

0:01:35 > 0:01:38and are appealing for witnesses.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09with some bright spells and some showers, and that sort of weather

0:04:11 > 0:04:14We're just getting rid of this low-pressure system at the moment,

0:04:14 > 0:04:16so the rain is easing off over the course of tonight.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19Now, as we have a look at the detail this evening,

0:04:19 > 0:04:22there is some hill fog in places, quite a cloudy night

0:04:22 > 0:04:24as well, still the odd shower here and there,

0:04:24 > 0:04:26and lows of around 0 Celsius,

0:04:26 > 0:04:27so the chance of some icy conditions,

0:04:27 > 0:04:29particularly in rural spots.

0:04:29 > 0:04:32Then, as we go through tonight and towards tomorrow morning,
