:01:05. > :01:06.earlier this year, the council was told of worrying concerns.
:01:07. > :01:09.Most notably, a high number of physical restraints being used
:01:10. > :01:11.on pupils and a failure of the schools management
:01:12. > :01:16.As a result, the County Council stepped in and removed the pupils
:01:17. > :01:20.Tonight, I understand the headteacher and three
:01:21. > :01:23.non-teaching members of staff have been suspended,
:01:24. > :01:28.in as well as an interim bo`rd of governors after the orighnal
:01:29. > :01:44.I want to be careful with what I say.
:01:45. > :01:46.I don't want to prejudice an ongoing investigation.
:01:47. > :01:48.There are clearly a number of concerns about children's safety.
:01:49. > :01:51.There were no allegations made as far as I'm aware
:01:52. > :01:53.regarding sexual abuse, I know that has been a rumotr
:01:54. > :01:59.The council says that demand for Coln House has dropped
:02:00. > :02:04.and they will not be able to keep it open.
:02:05. > :02:11.That means the school will be making a crippling loss.
:02:12. > :02:19.By 2018, 2019, we will have to find ?2.5 million to deal
:02:20. > :02:22.Unions say they believe the council mishandled the removal
:02:23. > :02:25.Teachers still at Coln Housd are being given extra
:02:26. > :02:29.training and others are at placements in other schools.
:02:30. > :02:34.The union accepts that the school won't be able to stay open.
:02:35. > :02:37.Whilst we are saddened by the fact that it will probably mean
:02:38. > :02:43.the loss of another school that's been popular...
:02:44. > :02:45.served the needs of the community well, the casd
:02:46. > :02:48.for the lack of financial viability is quite strong.
:02:49. > :02:51.And I think it is fair to s`y that, having talked to members,
:02:52. > :02:53.we're quite resigned to the fact that the most likely outcomd
:02:54. > :03:01.All of the children removed from here in the summer
:03:02. > :03:03.are now at other schools - it now seems increasingly lhkely
:03:04. > :03:08.they'll become the last int`ke pupils to be taught at Coln House.
