:00:11. > :00:15.Still looking for answers. for the news where you are.

:00:16. > :00:18.The parents of a baby who died shortly after his birth criticise

:00:19. > :00:30.20 years for the gang who blew up a cash machine at a post office.

:00:31. > :00:34.Tomorrow we will start with a lot of cloud across the region but there's

:00:35. > :00:38.a fair chance some will see the sunshine before the day is through.

:00:39. > :00:42.And we'll bring you all the sports results from tonight's games.

:00:43. > :00:44.An NHS Trust has been reported to the police

:00:45. > :00:47.following the death of a baby whose delivery was delayed.

:00:48. > :00:52.Benjamin King died five days after his birth at the RUH in Bath.

:00:53. > :00:55.Tonight there's concern about the hospital records

:00:56. > :00:58.surrounding the birth, and the coroner has reported

:00:59. > :01:00.the trust to the police after it admitted evidence was altered.

:01:01. > :01:03.Once again he'd come looking for answers.

:01:04. > :01:06.Well-known actor Jamie King wanting to know the truth about what had

:01:07. > :01:16.But once again, he left court today disappointed and disillusioned.

:01:17. > :01:19.We came to this inquest hoping the hospital would acknowledge

:01:20. > :01:22.the mistakes that they made that led to our son's death.

:01:23. > :01:25.But rather than hearing the truth, we've had to listen to misremembered

:01:26. > :01:30.stories, altered accounts, deflection and diversion.

:01:31. > :01:32.Benjamin was born at the Royal United Hospital in Bath

:01:33. > :01:35.in May last year with severe brain damage after he was deprived

:01:36. > :01:42.The inquest heard how his mother, Canadian actor Tamara Podemski,

:01:43. > :01:44.had been rushed into hospital following concerns about

:01:45. > :01:53.A Caesarean section was planned for later that day but was delayed

:01:54. > :02:03.By then, though, it was too late, and Benjamin was ater born

:02:04. > :02:06.By then, though, it was too late, and Benjamin was later born

:02:07. > :02:08.in what was described as a very poor condition.

:02:09. > :02:12.The inquest into Benjamin's death began two months ago in November

:02:13. > :02:15.of last year and would normally have only lasted for a couple of days,

:02:16. > :02:18.but it was dramatically halted halfway through when it emerged that

:02:19. > :02:21.evidence had been removed from a witness's statement by a member

:02:22. > :02:27.At the time, coroner Maria Voisin said it was a very serious matter

:02:28. > :02:35.Today it emerged that she has taken the highly unusual step of referring

:02:36. > :02:38.the case to the police, something the RUH Trust

:02:39. > :02:44.We have co-operated fully with the coroner's directions

:02:45. > :02:47.following the adjournment of the initial inquest.

:02:48. > :02:50.We would like to provide further assurance that the Trust has taken

:02:51. > :02:53.the matter very seriously and continues to address

:02:54. > :03:00.We are unable to comment further on this matter.

:03:01. > :03:02.The inquest heard that lessons had been learned

:03:03. > :03:08.We've been given exclusive access to this report called

:03:09. > :03:10.a root cause analysis, which highlights some

:03:11. > :03:14.Amongst them, it states quite clearly that the operation

:03:15. > :03:16.to deliver Benjamin should not have been postponed, and that if it

:03:17. > :03:19.hadn't been, it is highly likely that Benjamin would have been born

:03:20. > :03:22.alive and in good condition, something the coroner

:03:23. > :03:29.Referring this matter to the police is of course a very serious step.

:03:30. > :03:32.Lawyers I've been speaking to who work in this field day in,

:03:33. > :03:35.day out say they simply don't remember a similar case.

:03:36. > :03:38.At the same time as the police carry out their investigation,

:03:39. > :03:41.there are also two separate investigations ongoing - one

:03:42. > :03:46.internal, one external to the RUH - and they have promised today that

:03:47. > :03:50.when those investigations report, the findings will be shared both

:03:51. > :03:54.with the coroner and, crucially, with the family,

:03:55. > :04:08.who tonight of course are still looking for answers.

:04:09. > :04:10.A former Bristol Rugby player has been suspended by his current

:04:11. > :04:12.club after being accused of leaking confidential information.

:04:13. > :04:15.Tom Arscott, who now plays for Sale and whose brother

:04:16. > :04:17.Luke plays for Bristol, is being investigated by the RFU.

:04:18. > :04:20.It is over claims he leaked team tactics to Bristol before

:04:21. > :04:21.a Premiership match on New Year's Day.

:04:22. > :04:25.Bristol Rugby say neither they or Luke Arscott have

:04:26. > :04:35.Extra security has been installed at some cash machines in the West

:04:36. > :04:39.Today three men were sentenced to more than 20 years in prison

:04:40. > :04:43.for one such attack when the post office in Long Ashton was blown up.

:04:44. > :04:47.Our home affairs correspondent Charlotte Callen reports.

:04:48. > :04:51.Blown up for its cash, this, the twisted, charred wreck left

:04:52. > :04:57.Take a look at the fire that ripped through the building

:04:58. > :05:01.A mum and her two children were asleep upstairs,

:05:02. > :05:07.This was far from a victimless crime.

:05:08. > :05:10.It is hard to believe no-one was injured.

:05:11. > :05:13.And it's just one of a number of attacks on cash points

:05:14. > :05:22.It literally knocked four years' growth off the business.

:05:23. > :05:25.So I think 50% of the time we've been here is lost and we've

:05:26. > :05:30.We'll do it, we're stubborn and we won't let them beat us.

:05:31. > :05:36.I came up for an afternoon and helped them shovel the remains

:05:37. > :05:46.It cost nearly ?200,000 to rebuild the post office and the thieves got

:05:47. > :05:49.away with nearly ?60,000 from the cash point, so now they've

:05:50. > :05:54.beefed up security to make sure it couldn't happen again.

:05:55. > :05:57.We've got gas suppression systems on it, we've got DNA packs,

:05:58. > :06:02.there's more CCTV, there's alarms, there's seismic sensors.

:06:03. > :06:04.Pretty much every security device they could put on it,

:06:05. > :06:09.Whilst the owners were rebuilding, they claim the three thieves had

:06:10. > :06:13.been boasting on social media about spending the cash.

:06:14. > :06:16.But they were soon caught by the police.

:06:17. > :06:19.41-year-old Patrick Duggan, 25-year-old Nicholas Mann

:06:20. > :06:24.and 22-year-old Shane Dennis sentenced today and yesterday

:06:25. > :06:31.I think the sentences send out a very clear message that court

:06:32. > :06:33.won't tolerate this kind of violent offending.

:06:34. > :06:36.I think we've got to remember that the violence of this explosion

:06:37. > :06:40.completely destroyed the post office, it disrupted that business

:06:41. > :06:44.for over six months and it endangered the lives of the people

:06:45. > :06:46.living above the post office and living in

:06:47. > :06:52.Some of the other cashpoint thefts are due in court over the coming

:06:53. > :06:55.weeks but owners David and Andrew hope the new forms of security

:06:56. > :07:05.will make this kind of crime impossible in the future.

:07:06. > :07:07.Clive Nation works for a firm that provides security for high-street

:07:08. > :07:11.banks and independent traders who have cash machines.

:07:12. > :07:16.I asked him if these attacks were getting more dangerous.

:07:17. > :07:19.The thieves are now more commonly using explosives.

:07:20. > :07:21.It's something that started in Eastern Europe and has now

:07:22. > :07:24.migrated through northern Europe into the UK and we've seen a 50%

:07:25. > :07:31.rise just year-on-year in the number of attacks using explosives.

:07:32. > :07:33.And it seems that smaller shops are more vulnerable

:07:34. > :07:39.They are if the thieves get inside the shop,

:07:40. > :07:42.like a smash-and-grab, where they'll use a JCB-type

:07:43. > :07:44.vehicle to get in and take the whole ATM away.

:07:45. > :07:48.But sometimes they're also vulnerable because thieves think

:07:49. > :07:51.that there's money left overnight inside the ATM, where small

:07:52. > :07:56.convenience stores will typically move the cash overnight.

:07:57. > :08:00.It's the larger machines, the larger chains, that tend to have

:08:01. > :08:03.ATMs that store a lot more cash that's left in overnight.

:08:04. > :08:12.My company is involved in various forms of protection against ATM

:08:13. > :08:16.theft, and tracking should the actual ATM be removed.

:08:17. > :08:23.But the biggest fear at the moment is the explosives and the damage

:08:24. > :08:25.that that causes not just to the store, which can take

:08:26. > :08:28.a store out for a week, but the potential danger

:08:29. > :08:32.And what you can do to prevent that, and a number of operators are now

:08:33. > :08:35.using it, is a neutralising gas, so when the thieves try to insert

:08:36. > :08:39.gas into the ATM and then explode it, our sensors will determine

:08:40. > :08:43.when that happens and put a neutralising gas in to prevent

:08:44. > :08:55.Politicians in Bath are a step closer to picking where a new Park

:08:56. > :08:59.After years of debate, Banes Council has narrowed

:09:00. > :09:03.down its options to two preferred locations to the east of the city.

:09:04. > :09:12.Both options use greenbelt land around Bathampton Meadows.

:09:13. > :09:14.Football now, and Bristol City will face Premier League side

:09:15. > :09:16.Burnley in the next round of the FA Cup.

:09:17. > :09:18.They beat Fleetwood 1-0 in their third-round

:09:19. > :09:19.replay this evening, with Jamie Paterson

:09:20. > :09:29.City will now face Burnley away on the weekend of January the 28th.

:09:30. > :09:31.In the Checkatrade Trophy it was a different story

:09:32. > :09:34.for Cheltenham, who lost 1-0 at home to Bradford.

:09:35. > :09:53.Good evening. As we head into tomorrow, we will face some of the

:09:54. > :09:57.same forecasting difficulties as we had today, which is the balance

:09:58. > :10:01.between areas that stay cloudy and those which will brighten up. Those

:10:02. > :10:05.are certainly in the minority today. Moreover you will see something in

:10:06. > :10:13.the way of bright and sunny but whether tomorrow. For the rest of

:10:14. > :10:18.tonight, for the majority, a lot of cloud round and temperatures keeping

:10:19. > :10:23.above freezing, somewhere in the range of 1 degrees up to 5 degrees.

:10:24. > :10:30.Clear skies could mean we drop the other way, below freezing, so at

:10:31. > :10:33.least the risk of some frost. Tomorrow, you'll notice a

:10:34. > :10:37.distinction between the cloudier zones to the north and sunshine to

:10:38. > :10:43.the south. I suspect that might be further north than perhaps the map

:10:44. > :10:47.suggests. So it may well be that parts of Fulcher, Somerset, up into

:10:48. > :10:51.Baines and even up to Bristol could brighten up into the afternoon but

:10:52. > :10:56.some uncertainty into that regard. Either way, it should be a largely

:10:57. > :11:01.dry day bar the odd spot of drizzle and temperatures not dissimilar, so

:11:02. > :11:02.somewhere around for- six Celsius. A lot of dry weather

:11:03. > :11:07.from time to time. Staying settled still. Nick has the national

:11:08. > :11:12.forecast this evening. Hello. If you are watching the

:11:13. > :11:16.football earlier it turned out to be an evening for football fans in

:11:17. > :11:21.Lincolnshire. This is how it looked at the start of the day. No idea

:11:22. > :11:25.whether this weather watcher is a football fan, it's a fan of weather

:11:26. > :11:28.that matters here. All sorts of weather, from 13 in Aberdeenshire to

:11:29. > :11:31.two, despite the sunshine in Kent. I wonder if this six in the cloud

:11:32. > :11:32.across the Midlands into northern
