:00:00. > 3:59:59for Mosul underway, there will have to be some follow-through. So what

:00:00. > :00:11.comes next? Join me on BBC Two. A fresh search at the former home

:00:12. > :00:18.of convicted murderer. Wiltshire Police say they've begun

:00:19. > :00:21.digging at the garden of Christopher Halliwell's previous

:00:22. > :00:24.home in Swindon. How did details of an investigation

:00:25. > :00:30.into the former prime minister Sir Edward Heath appear

:00:31. > :00:37.in a Sunday Newspaper? Specialist police officers have been

:00:38. > :00:46.digging tonight at the former home of the convicted murderer

:00:47. > :00:48.Christopher Halliwell. Halliwell is already serving two

:00:49. > :00:50.life sentences for killing Wiltshire police say this search

:00:51. > :00:54.is based on new information. Our Swindon reporter

:00:55. > :00:56.Will Glennon is there now. The whole alleyway is sealed

:00:57. > :01:06.off behind me, behind here on Broad Street

:01:07. > :01:11.near the centre of Swindon. They are behind

:01:12. > :01:13.the tarpaulin which is blocking the alley, you can just

:01:14. > :01:16.about make out a white police scene of crime tent and vehicles

:01:17. > :01:22.at the gardens. Wiltshire Police have

:01:23. > :01:24.issued us a statement Specialist officers they say

:01:25. > :01:27.are currently carrying out of two properties in Broad Street

:01:28. > :01:30.as part of an ongoing investigation

:01:31. > :01:32.by the major crime team. This relates to intelligence

:01:33. > :01:34.that the force has received. This is significant

:01:35. > :01:36.because the convicted double murder Christopher Halliwell is known

:01:37. > :01:39.by the BBC to have lived here between the years

:01:40. > :01:44.of 1996 and 2000. Police have not told us

:01:45. > :01:47.what intelligence they have or details about what they are doing

:01:48. > :01:53.or what they're looking for. Christopher Halliwell was convicted

:01:54. > :01:57.in September last year of the murder of a young Swindon woman,

:01:58. > :01:59.Becky Godden-Edwards. Christopher Halliwell was handed

:02:00. > :02:06.down a whole life sentence That is because he was already

:02:07. > :02:09.serving a life sentence for the murder of another young

:02:10. > :02:14.Swindon woman, Sian O'Callaghan. She went missing on her

:02:15. > :02:18.night out in 2011. There are eight years

:02:19. > :02:22.between the murders. There is significant speculation

:02:23. > :02:29.that there may be other victims that Christopher Halliwell

:02:30. > :02:30.is responsible for . Wiltshire Police have not

:02:31. > :02:32.officially linked other crimes to him but they have appealed

:02:33. > :02:34.to Christopher Halliwell to search his conscience and to tell

:02:35. > :02:38.them anything else that he knows. A driver's been sent to prison

:02:39. > :02:43.for more than seven years after an accident in Nailsea

:02:44. > :02:46.in which a teenager died. 23-year-old James Bisset from Yatton

:02:47. > :02:51.in North Somerset hit a group of pedestrians on Valentine's Day

:02:52. > :02:53.last year, fatally injuring Bisset was jailed for dangerous

:02:54. > :02:57.driving, and was banned from holding There are calls tonight

:02:58. > :03:05.for Wiltshire's Chief Constable to explain how details

:03:06. > :03:07.of his force's investigation into Sir Edward Heath ended up

:03:08. > :03:10.in a Sunday newspaper. Officers have been investigating

:03:11. > :03:14.the former Prime Minister as part Our Home Affairs Correspondent

:03:15. > :03:20.Charlotte Callen reports. It all started here at

:03:21. > :03:23.the gates of Sir Edward I am appealing to anybody that has

:03:24. > :03:30.been a victim of crime or a witness to something that may have taken

:03:31. > :03:36.place concerning Edward Heath. At a cost of more than ?800,000

:03:37. > :03:44.Operation Conifer has been trawling through every aspect of the former

:03:45. > :03:46.Prime Minister's life Wiltshire Police say

:03:47. > :03:53.they have a duty to properly investigate all allegations

:03:54. > :03:59.of historical sexual abuse. Newly elected, Heath takes his place

:04:00. > :04:04.in Number Ten in 1970. Now his place in the history

:04:05. > :04:10.books is uncertain. With such a high profile

:04:11. > :04:12.investigation, there's no surprise None more so than from friends,

:04:13. > :04:21.like his former agent, a woman who worked with

:04:22. > :04:24.Sir Edward for many years. It should have stopped months

:04:25. > :04:28.and months and months ago. It is destroying the idea

:04:29. > :04:40.of a man who is blameless. are concerned about apparent leaks

:04:41. > :04:49.or briefings to the Mail on Sunday about operational details

:04:50. > :04:53.in this case. Yesterday the paper

:04:54. > :04:59.claimed that more than 30 alleged victims had come forward,

:05:00. > :05:01.that the Chief Constable, Mike Veale, was certain

:05:02. > :05:06.allegations were 120% genuine. The level of detail contained

:05:07. > :05:11.in the newspaper reports has led some, including friends

:05:12. > :05:15.and politicians to wonder whether there was a leak

:05:16. > :05:20.within the investigating team. I asked the police today if they had

:05:21. > :05:24.been involved in any way with this I asked them if the 30 plus figure

:05:25. > :05:32.re victims was also correct but again they refused

:05:33. > :05:37.to mention anything. The Chief Constable has

:05:38. > :05:39.always said he is in sole charge of Operation Conifer

:05:40. > :05:42.and that no details on numbers of alleged

:05:43. > :05:47.victims would be released. I rightly accept the scrutiny

:05:48. > :05:50.and it is important to affirm to the public and my staff

:05:51. > :05:53.that the conduct of this investigation is my

:05:54. > :05:55.responsibility and my responsibility This afternoon the

:05:56. > :06:00.Conservative MP James Gray told me if the leak came

:06:01. > :06:03.from the Chief Constable, And that this kind of briefing

:06:04. > :06:09.risked prejudicing the inquiry. So far there have been two arrests

:06:10. > :06:11.from the investigation but they have no link

:06:12. > :06:14.to Sir Edward Heath. For now his life remains

:06:15. > :06:23.under investigation. Police say they'll be studying CCTV

:06:24. > :06:25.pictures of crowd trouble at Bristol Rovers' game

:06:26. > :06:28.against Port Vale at the weekend. Four people - including a match day

:06:29. > :06:30.official - were arrested. Staffordshire Police say more

:06:31. > :06:35.than 30 Rovers fans were thrown out Six suffered minor injuries

:06:36. > :06:41.in a disturbance after the match but were treated at the scene

:06:42. > :06:49.and boarded coaches back to Bristol. Events have been taking place

:06:50. > :06:52.across the West to highlight migrant workers and their place

:06:53. > :06:54.in the local economy. This was one gathering in Bath this

:06:55. > :06:57.morning as part of the 'One Day without Us' campaign -

:06:58. > :06:59.with another at the With Brexit about to begin,

:07:00. > :07:04.Robin Markwell has been exploring what the future might hold

:07:05. > :07:06.for migrants already The lunchtime rush at

:07:07. > :07:13.Los Gatos in Swindon. It's not just the dishes here that

:07:14. > :07:15.have a continental flavour. For Jose and Max -

:07:16. > :07:34.Brexit has made them think again If we have to leave England,

:07:35. > :07:45.it is good to come here. If people don't come,

:07:46. > :07:47.we lose our job. Brexit is a big thing

:07:48. > :07:49.which will make me stand up for myself and think

:07:50. > :07:54.about my future. So tonight, for one night only,

:07:55. > :07:56.the restaurant owner has asked all her European staff

:07:57. > :08:00.to stay at home. She wants to prove just how

:08:01. > :08:02.reliant her business has We don't set out just to employee

:08:03. > :08:12.Spanish people and European people. We advertise locally and have

:08:13. > :08:17.never done anything else. People apply for jobs

:08:18. > :08:19.and we hardly ever get any local people applying

:08:20. > :08:22.for jobs to work here. The dicey issue for

:08:23. > :08:24.Government is this. Until Brexit negotiations get

:08:25. > :08:27.underway, there's unlikely to be any cast-iron guarantees

:08:28. > :08:29.for the European nationals It's a matter not just

:08:30. > :08:47.for Westminster but Brussels too. Over the next three years,

:08:48. > :08:50.their position does not change. We are hopeful in the

:08:51. > :08:51.early re-negotiations, we will stabilise not

:08:52. > :08:54.only their position but the position Let's not forget them

:08:55. > :08:58.as well in this equation. In Swindon's Park Estate,

:08:59. > :09:00.they voted heavily for Leave. It was a decision

:09:01. > :09:01.driven by uncontrolled They come over here and haven't been

:09:02. > :09:06.in the country five minutes and they The foreigners.

:09:07. > :09:19.Not our country any more, is it? Public pressure on tightening our

:09:20. > :09:21.borders remains intense. But first politicians must

:09:22. > :09:23.reflect on the future Mild and misty and at times damp for

:09:24. > :09:40.the next two days. Thereafter, a change to windy

:09:41. > :09:43.and colder conditions as we head One weather front trapped right over

:09:44. > :09:53.us for the next few days, keeps the moisture and keeps a low

:09:54. > :09:56.cloud and the mist and drizzle. It will remain mild,

:09:57. > :10:00.nine or 10 degrees. Some brief brightness

:10:01. > :10:05.but on the whole it will be cloudy, spots of drizzle, a brisk westerly

:10:06. > :10:08.breeze but again it is relatively mild, temperatures

:10:09. > :10:10.around 11 or 12 degrees. I mentioned the change,

:10:11. > :10:20.that will come as we head into An active weather system

:10:21. > :10:25.sweeping through, Much brighter in the afternoon after

:10:26. > :10:37.it's gone through but temperatures will drop down to two

:10:38. > :10:39.or three degrees. Friday a bright, dry day

:10:40. > :10:41.with temperatures back We're back with you in Breakfast

:10:42. > :10:50.tomorrow from 6.30. But for now

:10:51. > :10:52.from all of us here. little milder, but it will be a wet

:10:53. > :11:13.start and it will brighten up later. As you have just seen, after a day

:11:14. > :11:16.in which some of you have been shedding the layers, you will be

:11:17. > :11:19.putting them back on for the rest of this week. Big changes ahead, all

:11:20. > :11:25.down to where the air has been coming from. Today, it originated in

:11:26. > :11:28.the Caribbean, hence the name tropical maritime air. Temperatures

:11:29. > :11:33.peaked at 18 degrees. But later this week, the winds go to the

:11:34. > :11:37.north-west, a different source, polar maritime air. Still over the

:11:38. > :11:39.sea, but from a colder
