:01:21. > :01:26.morning. Next month it will be two years since that 32 tonne truck
:01:27. > :01:29.careered out of control down Lansdowne Lane, killing four people.
:01:30. > :01:36.As we heard, three men from Wales old died and four-year-old Mitzi
:01:37. > :01:40.Steady was also killed. Now after their two-year ordeal, the victims
:01:41. > :01:45.families will soon learn the fate of two men who are held responsible
:01:46. > :01:49.today those victims families told the court of the devastating
:01:50. > :01:53.emotional and physical impact this accident has had on the. The owner,
:01:54. > :01:58.Matthew Gordon and his mechanic, Peter Wood were both found guilty of
:01:59. > :02:07.manslaughter last month. The driver of the truck on the day of the
:02:08. > :02:14.accident was cleared of all charges. Today in court, Mitzi Steady's
:02:15. > :02:17.mother spoke with huge courage on the Everest devastating impact of
:02:18. > :02:20.this accident. This look of their lively, beautiful, vibrant little
:02:21. > :02:28.girl will never have first day at school, never be allowed to learn to
:02:29. > :02:31.read. She's folk of the impact the accident had had on her mother who
:02:32. > :02:34.lost both of her legs during the accident. Matthew Gordon and Peter
:02:35. > :02:45.would urge you to be sentenced for those charges of manslaughter after

:02:49. > :02:52.against her party's leaders orders by refusing to back Brexit in a vote

:04:03. > :04:06.Rob Johnston was a top eye surgeon and innovator based
:04:07. > :04:11.at the Cheltenham General eye department..
:04:12. > :04:13.He died last Autumn at the age of fifty -
:04:14. > :04:16.and left an enduring legacy - as Amanda Parr reports.
:04:17. > :04:19.His skill has saved the eyesight of thousands of patients.
:04:20. > :04:21.Those he's helped, those he's worked with -
:04:22. > :04:25.remember his rapport, his drive, his energy.
:04:26. > :04:30.I mean, he was a surgeon to his core.
:04:31. > :04:36.He had fantastic surgical results, but after friends and colleagues,
:04:37. > :04:40.He came up with a new electronic patient record system
:04:41. > :04:45.It was revolutionary - award winning - allowing teams
:04:46. > :04:48.to record and analyse the results of treatments - improving
:04:49. > :05:02.It's the only tool in medicine that I'm aware of that has been designed
:05:03. > :05:04.purely by a clinician for other clinicians and it has the ability
:05:05. > :05:07.with no extra effort on the part of the doctors,
:05:08. > :05:09.who are seeing the patients on a daily basis, to actually
:05:10. > :05:11.acquire that very important information and shape
:05:12. > :05:14.Rob also transformed this place - the outpatient facilities.
:05:15. > :05:17.Despite failing health he chased funding, helped plan the layout -
:05:18. > :05:25.chose seat colours, flooring and artwork.
:05:26. > :05:27.There's loads of space, the corridors are nice and wide.
:05:28. > :05:30.It's really been thought out very carefully as an ideal environment
:05:31. > :05:36.And a really special legacy from Rob, I guess?
:05:37. > :05:39.Another one of this very special legacies.
:05:40. > :05:44.Although you are looking after patients, obviously you want
:05:45. > :05:46.the atmosphere and everything to be like this.
:05:47. > :05:52.But staff were determined to surprise him on opening day -
:05:53. > :05:54.sneaking a plaque onto the wall, to thank him.
:05:55. > :05:56.Tomorrow many will gather to remember Rob Johnston.
:05:57. > :05:59.A man described as unfailingly modest - but one of the most
:06:00. > :06:02.influential opthalmologists of his generation.
