:01:16. > :01:20.Zara even got injured. Jack was lucky to a state. Zara you got a cut

:01:21. > :01:26.in the back of your leg. I live you know? Yes. Literally just coming to

:01:27. > :01:33.terms with it now, but I'm feeling much better. And Jack, what you

:01:34. > :01:39.remember about what happened? I remember just walking out of the

:01:40. > :01:45.fire and reregistering how amazing it was, she was great, and we saw

:01:46. > :01:52.everyone's parents waiting to pick their ketchup, and we said, all that

:01:53. > :01:55.is and that is when the explosion went off. Funny split second, we

:01:56. > :02:02.didn't know what it was, but then you saw the devastation. There was

:02:03. > :02:09.blood... I did knew it was something bad and we had to get out of there.

:02:10. > :02:16.When the spot. I just grabbed it and I was just saying, we have got to

:02:17. > :02:29.get out. And you were lucky because some shrapnel had your clothing and

:02:30. > :02:33.toilet. I was lucky. -- and tour it. I feel awful for people who work

:02:34. > :02:37.less lucky. How are you feeling now after seeing what did happen and

:02:38. > :02:43.what could have happened to you? I am so thankful that I wasn't as

:02:44. > :02:47.entered as anyone else, and I can't imagine how they are feeling. If it

:02:48. > :02:52.wasn't for Jack, I don't know what would have happened. He saved my

:02:53. > :02:56.life by getting out of that building, and I actually am so

:02:57. > :03:05.thankful for him every day. Thanks very much. There will be more from

:03:09. > :03:09.lies from the Manchester Arena on Monday night.

:03:10. > :03:11.This bank holiday weekend, over 120,000 people are expected

:03:12. > :03:13.in Gloucester for the Tall Ships Festival.

:03:14. > :03:16.It's the largest event in the West and comes amid heightened security

:03:17. > :03:30.Our Gloucestershire reporter Steve Knibbs joins us now.

:03:31. > :03:39.We are about to head into Gloucester docks aboard this ship. It is a

:03:40. > :03:44.1960s type adapted for sale. We will be heading into Gloucester for that

:03:45. > :03:48.festival. I'm at the chief executive marketing who is organising it. With

:03:49. > :03:52.all these people coming, presumably there has a review of security?.

:03:53. > :03:58.Absolutely. We have tightened up things, we had been liaising with

:03:59. > :04:01.pleas. We had a good system enemy, but now there will be extra bodies

:04:02. > :04:06.on the floor to make sure everybody is safe. We have seen an police over

:04:07. > :04:10.the last couple of days, that presence will be there, but it is

:05:33. > :05:35.He spoke to the Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham,

:05:36. > :05:38.to say that the Islamic religion taught love and peace,

:05:39. > :05:43.No individual is going to ruin that, for me, my family,

:05:44. > :05:46.my beautiful religion, for the billions of Muslims out

:05:47. > :05:59.This is Islam, not what that person did on the 22nd.

:06:00. > :06:02.And Mr Norat will be joining us in the studio for Points West

:06:03. > :06:07.A surgeon from Bristol who treats epilepsy in children

:06:08. > :06:14.is spending his free time treating dogs.

:06:15. > :06:17.Mike Carter is working alongside vets to try out an implant

:06:18. > :06:19.As our health correspondent Matthew Hill reports,

:06:20. > :06:22.it's hoped the work will benefit both animals and humans in future.

:06:23. > :06:25.Eva is a jack russel who is about to have surgery

:06:26. > :06:29.For the past two years the jack russel has suffered from fairly

:06:30. > :06:35.The first time it happened, I didn't see it, my husband did.

:06:36. > :06:38.He just noticed there was something wrong with her, went to her,

:06:39. > :06:41.and in the middle of a fit, she bit his hand.

:06:42. > :06:45.Up to 40% of dogs can't control their epilepsy,

:06:46. > :06:48.and the only option is to put them to sleep.

:06:49. > :06:52.But paediatric brain surgeon Mike Carter has volunteered his time

:06:53. > :06:57.to help implant a pacemaker that has so far only been used in children.

:06:58. > :07:00.As we know, many human treatment start of as treatments that

:07:01. > :07:05.are either trialled or propagated in the animal population.

:07:06. > :07:08.It may well be that there are in fact benefits to humans

:07:09. > :07:13.from observing the way in which treatments work in animals

:07:14. > :07:15.as well, and that's very much what we're hoping for here.

:07:16. > :07:17.The pacemaker works by giving intermitent electric

:07:18. > :07:24.shocks to the vagus nerve, and it has massively reduced

:07:25. > :07:26.the seizures to the three dogs operated on so far.

:07:27. > :07:29.Jago, a four-year-old Border Collie, was the first patient

:07:30. > :07:34.Before surgery, Jago's seizures had become so frequent he had

:07:35. > :07:41.If we can control them and keep them short,

:07:42. > :07:46.not have the big long clusters we were getting before...

:07:47. > :07:50.It will carry on for as long as he likes it.

:07:51. > :07:53.So, as Jago gets back to a normal life, this collaboration

:07:54. > :07:57.between vets and the NHS could ultimately mean children

:07:58. > :08:01.suffering the most serious form of epilepsy could also

:08:02. > :08:13.To the weather, and David Braine has our look ahead to

:08:14. > :08:20.It looks like we're going to see more hot weather for the rest

:08:21. > :08:24.of today, but a change overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.

:08:25. > :08:26.Some glorious sunshine at the moment.

:08:59. > :09:01.of a rumble of thunder, and 16 or 17 will be

:09:02. > :09:04.And those showers should move away quite quickly

:09:05. > :09:07.for the start of the weekend, and Saturday is a dry day,

:09:08. > :09:10.another warm day, maybe not quite as warm as it has felt recently,

:09:11. > :09:14.And then as we head into the second half of the weekend,

:09:15. > :09:16.an increasing risk of seeing some heavy showers.
