:00:42. > :00:50.A Bristol artist who paints using her mouth is part

:00:51. > :00:53.of a campaign calling on people not to forget the tradition

:00:54. > :00:56.Venessa Haaroff say the advent of modern technology is threatening

:00:57. > :01:10.For the artists designing them, even longer to paint.

:01:11. > :01:13.When I was 19, I had a spinal-cord injury, quite high level,

:01:14. > :01:17.which left me without the use of my arms and legs,

:01:18. > :01:23.so one of the creative avenues that were available to me was painting,

:01:24. > :01:27.so I got into it that way in my rehabilitation centre

:01:28. > :01:32.and I was hanging around able-bodied artists and mouth painting

:01:33. > :01:36.artists and just realised, didn't really matter about the lack

:01:37. > :01:40.of movement, it was just how you got the paint to the paper.

:01:41. > :01:42.Now, Vanessa is a student artist, with an association called the Mouth

:01:43. > :01:48.For their members, making Christmas cards is one

:01:49. > :01:53.And that's why she features in a new video, calling

:01:54. > :01:57.on the public to remember the joy of sending and receiving one.

:01:58. > :02:03.One single card says more than 100 megabytes.

:02:04. > :02:05.We are really worried about the sale of Christmas cards.

:02:06. > :02:08.It helps the development of our art and for some members

:02:09. > :02:14.And for Vanessa, it's also a passion.

:02:15. > :02:23.Rugby and Bath have been taking on title rivals,

:03:03. > :03:06.What started off as something quite small suddenly grew so people

:03:07. > :03:09.were socialising and we had big reveals where bin bags over

:03:10. > :03:16.Just generally getting together and, yeah, having a good time.

:03:17. > :03:19.There are four calling birds, at number four, of course,

:03:20. > :03:23.Christmas kisses nearby and a winter wonderland for the tenth day.

:03:24. > :03:26.I'm not sure I can say there's much inspiration apart from winter

:03:27. > :03:29.time and having fun, but it's been a great time and we've

:03:30. > :03:32.Our street's got a really strong feeling of community.

:03:33. > :03:36.It's just a great way to bring us all together

:03:37. > :03:44.-- There was some confusion for the postman as the house numbers

:03:45. > :03:47.got changed for the different days of advent but, with 23 houses down,

:03:48. > :03:51.And the last reveal was, of course, at the pub.

:03:52. > :04:01.So at a time when people often rue the loss of community,

:04:02. > :04:04.this simple idea of some Christmas creativity has brought
