0:02:11 > 0:02:15But soon after the attack, the dogs were collected by their owners.

0:02:15 > 0:02:19These dogs, the pit bull had a history and the severity of it,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21I can't understand why they ever managed to walk

0:02:21 > 0:02:25out of those kennels.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28American pit bulls like these have to be registered by law.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30The one involved in this attack was registered,

0:02:30 > 0:02:33which is why police say they had no powers that day to

0:02:33 > 0:02:36seize or destroy it.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39I've just been in and spoken to the owners of Baromar Kennels

0:02:39 > 0:02:42and they've declined to speak to us on camera.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44But South Gloucestershire council have just completed a health

0:02:44 > 0:02:48and safety investigation here and say they have now passed it

0:02:48 > 0:02:51on to their legal department.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54Now a magistrate has ruled that this pit bull must be destroyed

0:02:54 > 0:02:56and it must be handed in.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58She can appeal.

0:02:58 > 0:03:02Obviously the dog will be kept in custody.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06If she does appeal it will go to Crown Court and it will be

0:03:06 > 0:03:07another story again.
