:00:42. > :00:48.They are determined to catch a man or woman,
:00:49. > :00:52.All services are having to deal with less but burglary
:00:53. > :01:00.But it is also about the public helping us in taking a bit
:01:01. > :01:02.of responsibility for themselves by making sure their
:01:03. > :01:08.Even if you try the odd front door, they are always open,
:01:09. > :01:14.so it is a polite reminder for people to review their security.
:01:15. > :01:22.Avon and Somerset have seen a 36% increase in burglaries.
:01:23. > :01:31.But in Gloucestershire, the figures are down by 10%.
:01:32. > :01:34.An increase in crime has put pressure on local teams like these.
:01:35. > :01:37.All our forces say they are feeling pressure of years of
:01:38. > :01:52.The thin blue line is being stretched ever further here.
:01:53. > :01:54.20% of their budget has been cut since 2010.
:01:55. > :01:57.They also say they have fewer front line officers than other similar
:01:58. > :01:59.forces because of the way funding is shared out.
:02:00. > :02:01.Wilts police also claimed the Government's funding
:02:02. > :02:03.formula is bad for them, meaning they can't afford as many
:02:04. > :02:07.And like in Avon and Somerset, both Wilts police and Gloucestershire
:02:08. > :02:10.police have seen real terms cut backs in their funding.
:02:11. > :02:13.These two are off to meet another family who have been burgled.
:02:14. > :02:15.This kind of policing remains a priority for many.
:02:16. > :02:18.The consultation on proposals to make changes to the A303 past
:02:19. > :02:22.The controversial plan is to create a tunnel past the ancient monument -
:02:23. > :02:25.it's part of a ?2 billion government scheme to upgrade
:02:26. > :02:27.sections of the road - campaigners say a tunnel could do
:02:28. > :02:29.irreparable damage to the historic landscape.

:05:20. > :05:22.showers in the western side of Scotland with a touch of frost

:05:29. > :05:32.the south-west by dawn, it's quite chilly 3-5 will be fairly typical. A
