:00:23. > :00:29.A Wroughton farmer remembered for one act of extraordinary

:00:30. > :00:34.courage, almost 100 years ago to the day.

:00:35. > :00:37.On April the 5th, 1917, 24 year-old William Gosling found

:00:38. > :00:45.A faulty bomb fired from his own side landed in the mud just yards

:00:46. > :00:47.in front of his line, but didn't explode.

:00:48. > :00:50.William immediately jumped out of the trench to defuse it.

:00:51. > :00:52.His act was recorded in the London Gazette that same year.

:00:53. > :00:57."Sergeant Gosling, sprang out, lifted the nose of the bomb,

:00:58. > :01:02.Unscrewed the fuse and threw it on the ground where it

:01:03. > :01:06.This very gallant and prompt action, undoubtedly saved the lives

:01:07. > :01:13.This event, 100 years on has given an opportunity for people

:01:14. > :01:16.to remember that extraordinary presence of mind that he had.

:01:17. > :01:19.How long did he have before it went off?

:01:20. > :01:22.Well, I understand about ten seconds.

:01:23. > :01:27.Today's ceremony is part of a nationwide move to honour

:01:28. > :01:30.all of World War One's Victoria Cross recipients.

:01:31. > :01:33.It just feels so nice the whole village came out.

:01:34. > :01:35.The service in the church was really lovely and I think

:01:36. > :01:37.people have thought, "this is our boy,

:01:38. > :01:44.And also the fact that William's daughter Marion

:01:45. > :01:51.I think that was really nice and there can't be many people

:01:52. > :01:53.from the First World War whose children are still alive.

:01:54. > :01:56.It makes the history of the Great War seem not

:01:57. > :02:03.A woman in her 40s has been arrested in connection with an incident

:02:04. > :02:06.on the Gloucester Road in Bristol, where a car hit a cyclist

:02:07. > :02:12.The cyclist, a 31 year-old man, remains in a life threatening
