:00:12. > :00:13.First tonight, there've been no trains through Bath Spa

:00:14. > :00:16.station this weekend, as work begins to modernise it ahead

:00:17. > :00:22.It's meant many visitors to the city have had to get there via bus,

:00:23. > :00:28.and there'll be further disruption over Easter, as Liz Beacon reports.

:00:29. > :00:30.Plans to electrify the line from Bristol to London have

:00:31. > :00:32.been heavily delayed, and have run nearly ?2

:00:33. > :00:39.For now, work on the section to Bristol has been put on hold.

:00:40. > :00:41.But Network Rail is committed to electrification

:00:42. > :00:49.The advantages long-term to the works - obviously we're

:00:50. > :00:51.improving the environment within the station,

:00:52. > :00:53.but being sympathetic to the existing heritage issues

:00:54. > :00:59.associated with the station, with it being a Brunel-designed

:01:00. > :01:03.And also the rail infrastructure will be improved, and also we'll be

:01:04. > :01:10.So, for the next fortnight there'll be plenty going on here -

:01:11. > :01:14.widening and lengethining platforms ready for new trains.

:01:15. > :01:16.And then there'll more work in the surrounding area.

:01:17. > :01:23.Working out when to cause the least disruption is what's problematic.

:01:24. > :01:25.We did know ahead of time it was going to happen.

:01:26. > :01:28.I was a bit surprised that it was happening now,

:01:29. > :01:33.But, yeah, we'll just see what happens, and enjoy a bit of a bus.

:01:34. > :01:35.It'll allow people to travel more quickly in the long term,

:01:36. > :01:40.Well, it's been very quiet here today.

:01:41. > :01:42.And next weekend there'll be a similar picture,

:01:43. > :01:45.because being the Easter weekend, there'll be no services

:01:46. > :01:49.But during the working week, things do get a little bit

:01:50. > :01:52.more back to normal, with a reduced service in operation.

:01:53. > :01:56.And all these signs lay the changes out very clearly.

:02:03. > :02:04.A man in his 70s has suffered a serious head injury

:02:05. > :02:07.after he was hit by a car on the Long Ashton bypass

:02:08. > :02:11.It happened just before 2pm on the A370.

:02:12. > :02:14.The road was closed for most of the afternoon while emergency

:02:15. > :02:18.crews worked, and there was heavy traffic in the area.

:02:19. > :02:22.Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened.

:02:23. > :02:25.Police in Cheltenham say they're concerned for the welfare

:02:26. > :02:28.23-year-old Heidi Slender went missing from her home

:02:29. > :02:32.in the Vittoria Walk area last week, and was last seen on Wednesday

:02:33. > :02:37.Police say Heidi is considered vulnerable, and they want her,

:02:38. > :02:42.or anyone with information, to get in touch with them.

:02:43. > :02:44.Hundreds of treasure hunters clutching maps and clues took part

:02:45. > :02:48.in a rather extravagant diamond hunt today in Cheltenham.

:02:49. > :02:49.A local jewellers had hidden prize vouchers

:02:50. > :02:52.all around the town - ten of them.

:02:53. > :02:55.Anyone who found one could then exchange it for a real

:02:56. > :02:59.It was all done to raise money for the local cancer charity

:03:00. > :03:08.Here's one family who couldn't believe their luck.

:03:09. > :03:10.We've got the clues and we were hunting around

:03:11. > :03:12.and we found the door and we found the stained-glass window.

:03:13. > :03:14.Just couldn't put the last clue together.

:03:15. > :03:17.And I was just heading this way to see what was down here,

:03:18. > :03:20.because this room had been out of action for a while,

:03:21. > :03:23.and then saw Georgia stood on a chair with the bag in her hand.

:03:24. > :03:30.It's been a beautiful weekend - the hottest day of the year so far.

:03:33. > :03:35.of it in the sunshine - enjoying today's

:03:36. > :03:38.It does look like we're losing some of that heat

:03:46. > :03:48.After a lovely day for many of us, cloud has been thickening.

:03:49. > :03:51.And that continues to push its way in at times for tonight,

:03:52. > :03:54.and could lead to a few spots of rain or drizzle perhaps

:03:55. > :03:58.But temperatures don't fall away too far - 8 or 9 degrees.

:03:59. > :04:01.You might see a spot of rain first thing tomorrow.

:04:02. > :04:03.But in general, that should tend to clear through.

:04:04. > :04:06.We have got some more sunshine to come, although there will be more

:04:07. > :04:08.cloud around I think in general than today.

:04:09. > :04:12.But noticeably it will be a much cooler feeling day for tomorrow.

:04:13. > :04:15.For some of us, temperatures could drop compared to today

:04:16. > :04:20.A chilly start then to Tuesday, but a dry and bright

:04:21. > :04:24.Cloudier and breezy on Wednesday, with a bit of rain in

:05:18. > :05:21.of you may have been asking. A beautiful day across much of eastern

:05:22. > :05:28.and south-eastern England. We saw highs of 25 degrees. Slightly

:05:29. > :05:31.fresher in the north-west of England, and much fresher behind the

:05:32. > :05:38.rain bearing weather front in the far north-west. As the front pushes

:05:39. > :05:46.south, it will weaken. We will not see rain, but it introduces cooler

:05:47. > :05:50.air behind. The showers overnight in Scotland will fall as sleet and

:05:51. > :05:51.snow. It will be a cold start first
