:00:00. > :00:09.Good afternoon. Winter storls have time for the

:00:10. > :00:14.Good afternoon. Winter storls have again battered the South East

:00:15. > :00:17.overnight. Following another night of high winds and heavy rain, more

:00:18. > :00:20.than 4,000 homes are without power. Trees are blocking roads and there

:00:21. > :00:23.are severe travel disruptions, including the closure of thd QE

:00:24. > :00:32.Bridge and long delays for ferries at Dover.

:00:33. > :00:39.Storms, power cuts, flooding, heavy rain and now fallen trees c`using

:00:40. > :00:47.disruption to peoples lives the south`east. It's manic. I think we

:00:48. > :00:52.have in excess of 200 trees down, all over the place. You can't go

:00:53. > :00:55.anywhere. Getting into your thing this morning was impossible, every

:00:56. > :01:02.route was flooded or blocked by trees. The trees have fallen down,

:01:03. > :01:10.the floods, you can't do nothing about it. We are stuck here. Well,

:01:11. > :01:16.I'm from Northampton, we never had anything like this. You havd to

:01:17. > :01:21.carry on, don't you? You know, British weather. More frustration if

:01:22. > :01:26.you tried to travel by rail. Many routes were not running at `ll until

:01:27. > :01:31.mid`morning, due to 12 falldn trees. Southeastern are now running a

:01:32. > :01:34.limited service. In Lindfield, these neighbours had an unpleasant

:01:35. > :01:39.surprise to wake up to. Luckily no one was injured. We heard a mighty

:01:40. > :01:47.crash and then my neighbour came round. Yeah, to find a couple of

:01:48. > :01:53.cars crushed. While hove residents tried to pick up the pieces of their

:01:54. > :01:56.beach huts, over 5000 homes in Kent and Sussex remain without power

:01:57. > :02:00.Parts of Chatham town centrd, including a Royal Mail sorthng

:02:01. > :02:03.office, were cordoned off this morning following a securitx alert.

:02:04. > :02:07.Police said, despite initial concerns, that a suspect package was

:02:08. > :02:10.not involved. Earlier this week three suspect packages were found at

:02:11. > :02:15.Army Careers offices Brighton, Canterbury and Chatham. The Prime

:02:16. > :02:16.Minister said those earlier threats bore the hallmark of Northern Irish

:02:17. > :02:22.terrorism. The road was all cordoned off, both

:02:23. > :02:26.ends, and the police were there The policeman come running up to me

:02:27. > :02:30.telling me to get inside and stay in the back of my property. Because if

:02:31. > :02:33.the glass goes through, if this thing goes off and the glass goes

:02:34. > :02:37.through, glass could go on ly jugular and it wouldn't be very

:02:38. > :02:39.pretty. Campaigners have gathered in

:02:40. > :02:43.Canterbury this lunchtime to protest against plans to close children s

:02:44. > :02:46.centres. 12 are set to closd in Kent, many others will have their

:02:47. > :02:51.opening hours reduced. Kent County Council plan to make ?2.5 mhllion of

:02:52. > :02:56.savings. A Kent athlete

:02:57. > :03:02.let's see if there's any, whether on the way.

:03:03. > :03:08.Good afternoon. Well, it sedms the worst of the wind has passed but we

:03:09. > :03:09.still have a Met Office yellow weather warning in place for heavy

:03:10. > :03:13.rain. Some heavy, blustery showers likely

:03:14. > :03:15.to blow to this afternoon, with some sunny spells between. The whnd

:03:16. > :03:18.gradually easing, still fairly blustery for a time. Maximul

:03:19. > :03:21.temperature ten Celsius. Anx remaining showers will move out of

:03:22. > :03:23.the way overnight and dry ott. Here are skies and the wind will start to

:03:24. > :03:28.fall. That will allow the temperature to

:03:29. > :03:32.drop, could be getting down to one Celsius. Perhaps in a sheltdred spot

:03:33. > :03:36.you might get a glimmer of frost and one or two icy stretches tolorrow

:03:37. > :03:39.morning. But it is a blue sky and sunshine day. The wind much lighter,

:03:40. > :03:43.a nice quiet day and the telperature up to nine Celsius. In the sunshine

:03:44. > :03:48.it will feel pleasant. Some sunshine tomorrow, but overnight, Sunday into

:03:49. > :03:51.Monday, more rain on its wax. In football, Charlton's match

:03:52. > :03:56.against Sheffield Wednesday has been postponed due to bad weather, as has

:03:57. > :04:00.Crawley's League One match `gainst Carlisle. That's all from us, we're

:04:01. > :04:10.back at six o'clock. Hope you can join us. Goodbye.

:04:11. > :04:17.Good afternoon. It looks as though we could be heading towards a sunny

:04:18. > :04:26.Sunday, something I assure we will all be grateful. What a store the!

:04:27. > :04:32.In Berry head in Devon winds were in excess of 80 miles an hour. In

:04:33. > :04:36.Heathrow airport, they were seeing winds of over 60 miles an hour.

:04:37. > :04:42.These will ease through the rest of the day and we will have a few

:04:43. > :04:47.decent showers to encounter. You can see this lump across the far north

:04:48. > :04:52.and west, perhaps more of an organised line of showery rain which

:04:53. > :04:58.is set to descend to south and east through the afternoon. There will be

:04:59. > :04:59.some sharp showers this afternoon. Showers continuing up into the north
