:00:00. > :00:12.two weeks' time. That is all from

:00:13. > :00:15.two weeks' time. Good evening. The government says

:00:16. > :00:18.security services and the police are increasingly focused on the risk

:00:19. > :00:21.posed by British Isla`mists returning from Syria. Last week a

:00:22. > :00:24.video was posted online showing Crawley man Abdul Waheed Majid, who

:00:25. > :00:27.is thought to have carried out a suicide bombing in the city of

:00:28. > :00:30.Aleppo. Now the Immigration Minister, James Brokenshire, says

:00:31. > :00:37.the threat was likely to be present for the foreseeable future.

:00:38. > :00:48.A growing proportion of the Security Service's work is linked to Syria in

:00:49. > :00:51.some way. And therefore this is a big problem that the Security

:00:52. > :00:54.Service and the police are `ctively focused on. It is why they `re

:00:55. > :00:57.vigilant, why they are taking the steps that they are around the

:00:58. > :01:01.border, on monitoring travel to and from Syria in the way that they are,

:01:02. > :01:03.rightly, in guarding our national security.

:01:04. > :01:06.Travel chaos is expected tolorrow as part of the Brighton mainline will

:01:07. > :01:09.be shut because of flooding at Patcham. Several flood warnhngs are

:01:10. > :01:12.still in place across the southeast and 400 homes are still without

:01:13. > :01:15.power after Friday night's storms. Nicola Haseler reports from East

:01:16. > :01:17.Kent where the army have bedn brought in to try and limit the

:01:18. > :01:20.flooding. The River Nailbourne surges through

:01:21. > :01:26.the Valley trying to finding any outlet it can. Here just about

:01:27. > :01:31.contained by a makeshift dal. It was sandbags that saved these homes in

:01:32. > :01:35.Bishop Spong this weekend. That s actually what saved our house. If it

:01:36. > :01:44.hadn't been for that, we wotld have been in trouble yesterday. Streaming

:01:45. > :01:51.down the sides yesterday and it s right up to the second sandbags It

:01:52. > :01:54.was quite scary. Until thred weeks ago, there was no flowing w`ter

:01:55. > :01:58.here. The River Nailbourne was still. The ground is so sattrated.

:01:59. > :02:01.It is just sandbags that is holding back the river and preventing it

:02:02. > :02:06.from running into the middld of the village. It has been divertdd down

:02:07. > :02:11.what was a dry riverbed that runs along the backs of peoples gardens.

:02:12. > :02:16.Yesterday, with all the rain we had, it came over and the whole garden

:02:17. > :02:21.was completely underwater. The house was flooded as well. The River

:02:22. > :02:25.Nailbourne carries ground w`ter Ground water levels are incredibly

:02:26. > :02:28.high at the moment. That has contributed with more rainf`ll and

:02:29. > :02:35.underwater springs. Ground water could take some time to drop. That

:02:36. > :02:38.could take weeks. There could be funding alerts and problems for some

:02:39. > :02:41.time. After a weekend of fallen trees, power cuts and travel

:02:42. > :02:58.disruption, here people are hoping for some respite for more r`in

:02:59. > :03:01.arrives this week. The first ever European Indoor

:03:02. > :03:04.Hockey Club Championships to be held in the UK have been hailed `s a

:03:05. > :03:08.great success. East Grinste`d hockey club hosted the event at thd K2 in

:03:09. > :03:10.Crawley with the top eight teams in Europe taking part as Neil Bell

:03:11. > :03:14.reports. With national pride at stakd,

:03:15. > :03:16.emotions were running high `t the K2 Centre. And it produced somd

:03:17. > :03:19.enthralling hockey for an enthusiastic audience. It's an

:03:20. > :03:23.incredible sport to play and watch. In our region, it is a real force to

:03:24. > :03:27.be reckoned with. I'm sure we will see more of it in the futurd. It was

:03:28. > :03:31.East Grinstead hockey club's first time in the competition. Thdy

:03:32. > :03:40.narrowly missed out a place in the semifinals. The hockey has been

:03:41. > :03:47.really good. Great standard. The Germans have taught us some

:03:48. > :03:51.lessons. As in so many sporting encounters, the German team came out

:03:52. > :03:55.on top this afternoon. This might not have been the final thex were

:03:56. > :04:00.hoping for, but they can be proud of hosting a very successful

:04:01. > :04:03.competition. After a beautiful day, clear skies

:04:04. > :04:06.at first tonight means the temperature is going to be puite

:04:07. > :04:10.chilly first thing. The clotd will start to move in as we had towards

:04:11. > :04:18.the early hours of tomorrow morning. By dawn, we are likely to sde some

:04:19. > :04:24.rain will arrive. Nothing too significant, just some light and

:04:25. > :04:27.patchy rain. The wind will be stronger than today, but a southerly

:04:28. > :04:31.so by the afternoon we will see some brightness and maybe even gdt up to

:04:32. > :04:34.nine degrees as a maximum. @s we head through the rest of thd week,

:04:35. > :04:38.potentially some very heavy showers around for Tuesday morning. But they

:04:39. > :04:41.should move out of the way `nd some brighter spells for the aftdrnoon.

:04:42. > :04:44.Wednesday is looking dry and calm. The rain returns, again nothing too

:04:45. > :04:45.significant, as we head into Thursday. The temperature rdmains

:04:46. > :04:47.relatively mild. significant, as we head

:04:48. > :05:06.We are back tomorrow at 6:24am. Goodbye.

:05:07. > :05:13.Good evening. In the midst of any normal winter weather for the week

:05:14. > :05:17.ahead would be fairly unremarkable. Some rain in places, some strong

:05:18. > :05:21.winds at times, but of course we are in the midst of no normal winter. It

:05:22. > :05:27.is worth emphasising that with - the weather this week will be less

:05:28. > :05:31.angry and volatile overall, a fair bit calmer. Calmer but by no means

:05:32. > :05:34.dry. Outbreaks of rain will spread across much of the UK through the

:05:35. > :05:37.night. There will be some snow mixed in across the hills of central

:05:38. > :05:41.Scotland. Temperatures slowly starting to rise through the night

:05:42. > :05:44.but they could be at or below freezing across northern Scotland

:05:45. > :05:48.first thing, maybe a bit icy as the weather pushes northwards. A dull,

:05:49. > :05:54.damp, dismal Monday morning with outbreaks of rain covering much of

:05:55. > :05:55.the UK. The rain may not yet have reached the east coast of
