:01:36. > :01:44.it's "unreservedly committed" to the pastoral care of homosexuals.

:02:43. > :02:49.can't. The Archbishop of Canterbury has indicated the church will no
:02:50. > :02:55.longer make resistance to g`y marriage but some people sax that
:02:56. > :03:03.gay activists are trying to redefine the definition of marriage. The
:03:04. > :03:07.loving thing to do to anybody, heterosexual or homosexual, is to
:03:08. > :03:10.point them towards the loving beauty and wholeness of truth found in
:03:11. > :03:17.Jesus Christ. The dioceses of Canterbury said that clergy should
:03:18. > :03:21.not bless same`sex couples. If they do and there is a complaint, it
:03:22. > :03:26.could lead to disciplinary sanctions up to and including suspenshon.
:03:27. > :03:30.Heterosexual people are weakening the institution of marriage by
:03:31. > :03:35.having affairs, by their behng domestic abuse within marri`ge. All
:03:36. > :03:40.of that defies the covenant of a loving marriage. Why would gay
:03:41. > :03:45.couples coming into that ardna weekend it in any way at all?
:03:46. > :03:50.Reverend Kes Grant says it simply comes down to the love of two people

:05:35. > :05:37.arrested outside the energy firm Cuadrilla's drilling site there in
:05:38. > :05:39.August. But she denies two public order offences, maintaining her
:05:40. > :05:46.actions were "legitimate and appropriate", as Piers Hopkhrk
:05:47. > :05:51.reports. From the Commons to the courthouse,
:05:52. > :05:54.Brighton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas arriving to give evidence today in
:05:55. > :06:04.her trial before Brighton Magistrates. I am arresting you for
:06:05. > :06:08.obstructing the highway. Thhs is the moment she was arrested last August.

:06:15. > :06:19.obstruction of the highway. Charges the UK's only Green MP has denied
:06:20. > :06:24.throughout her trial. Giving evidence today she told the court, I
:06:25. > :06:27.was exercising my right to peaceful protest in an area where I did not
:06:28. > :06:32.believe we were causing any obstruction. Asked why she did not
:06:33. > :06:38.move on when asked by policd, she said, I wanted the protest to end
:06:39. > :06:42.web is all agreeing to stand up and to have done it on our own terms in
:06:43. > :06:46.a peaceful and symbolic way. If we had been given another 15 mhnutes we
:06:47. > :06:52.could have ended the protest and disbursed. Caroline Lucas is on

:07:35. > :07:39.will go into a sixth day but not until April the 17th. We have one
:07:40. > :07:43.more witness to hear from and in the afternoon the district judgd will
:07:44. > :07:47.return to deliver his verdict. He will have to decide whether the
:07:48. > :07:53.actions of these protesters constituted either a breach of the
:07:54. > :08:01.public order act or obstructing the public highway. The protests at
:08:02. > :08:05.Bochum last summer cost Sussex Police a lot of money but they say
:08:06. > :08:12.they are getting some back now. It cost them ?4 million, but today the
:08:13. > :08:18.Home Office has agreed to p`y ?900,000 of that back. That money
:08:19. > :08:22.has been welcomed by the police and the crime to hear in Sussex but of
:08:23. > :08:28.course it leaves a shortfall of some ?3 million.
:08:29. > :08:32.Coming up, we will be looking ahead to a public meeting tonight in
:08:33. > :08:38.Sussex where they are discussing the possible impact of future fracking
:08:39. > :08:41.across the South East. Controversial plans to create the
:08:42. > :08:44.first new grammar school pl`ces for 50 years have received a major
:08:45. > :08:47.setback. Kent County Council's been backing campaigners in Sevenoaks who
:08:48. > :08:53.say grammar school places are desperately needed there.
:08:54. > :08:55.But when the Weald of Kent Grammar School in Tonbridge offered to
:08:56. > :09:01.create a satellite site, thd Government said an all`girls school
:09:02. > :09:05.could not run a mixed`sex annexe. And now parents at Weald of Kent
:09:06. > :09:11.have voted against plans to make the entire school mixed`sex. Lucinda
:09:12. > :09:15.Adam has the details. It is a mathematical equation that
:09:16. > :09:19.nobody seems able to solve. How do you create more grammar school laces
:09:20. > :09:25.so there are enough for everybody who passes the 11 plus, when the
:09:26. > :09:31.government will not allow any new grammar schools to open. Thd wheel
:09:32. > :09:38.book ends school thought it had found a solution, offering to open a
:09:39. > :09:45.second site in Sevenoaks. Btt the council said the whole school would
:09:46. > :09:50.have to become mixed. It wotld have been a coeducational annexe at
:09:51. > :09:54.Sevenoaks. If we lose half of the girls' places here, once thd school
:09:55. > :10:00.was up and running there wotld be no additional places for girls and that
:10:01. > :10:04.was a concern for us as govdrnors as well as the parents. Last Jtne it
:10:05. > :10:08.was found that the Weald of Kent Grammar `` and another school were
:10:09. > :10:14.bidding to set up satellite sites but the government rejected both
:10:15. > :10:19.compose all is, `` both proposals. It looked like there was hope when
:10:20. > :10:21.the Weald of Kent Grammar plans to become coeducational. In Sevenoaks
:10:22. > :10:27.today the demand for places was clear. All the kids are dre`ming of
:10:28. > :10:34.going to grammar school. It is important. It is very important My
:10:35. > :10:38.son goes to school in Sevenoaks and in a few years he will need to go to
:10:39. > :10:44.secondary school and I would not want to travel to Tonbridge or
:10:45. > :10:48.further. It depends on the teachers ultimately and the ethos of the
:10:49. > :10:55.schools. Kent County Council says all is not lost. Can you find a way
:10:56. > :10:59.to move along the lines of what was suggested but make sure that that
:11:00. > :11:05.includes additional girls' places, not all of the new places are simply
:11:06. > :11:11.boys' places. They have talked also about looking for a partnership with
:11:12. > :11:16.a boys' school. The now it hs back to the drawing board and sole hard
:11:17. > :11:19.sums for the councillors. Lucinda joins us live from County

:11:51. > :11:59.where the needs are most actte all of the grammar schools are single

:12:08. > :12:10.arrested in Gillingham on stspicion of murder after a man was found dead
