:00:10. > :00:13.Good evening. The father of an 18`year`old Sussex teenager who s

:00:14. > :00:16.been killed in Syria says hhs son is a martyr. Abdullah Deghayes, who

:00:17. > :00:20.lived in Brighton, died earlier this month while fighting in Syrha. His

:00:21. > :00:24.friends in the city have re`cted with shock, saying they didn't even

:00:25. > :00:28.know he was in the country. Ellie Price is in Brighton now. Ellie

:00:29. > :00:39.Abdullah's father has said he's proud of his son? His father said he

:00:40. > :00:42.found out about some's death via Facebook. He told us that hd had

:00:43. > :00:46.tried to stop his son from travelling to Syria to join forces

:00:47. > :00:51.fighting the Assad regime, but had been unable to do so. He sahd his

:00:52. > :00:57.son had died for a just cause, and for that reason he was not `

:00:58. > :01:02.terrorist. He grew up insulting and died in Syria. Abdullah Deghayes's

:01:03. > :01:08.father said he had been fighting alongside his brothers. 20`xear`old

:01:09. > :01:12.Amir said he had been shot hn the stomach in the same battle. He had

:01:13. > :01:18.gone out to try to persuade his sons to come home. They went without

:01:19. > :01:26.taking consent from their appearance, `` from their p`rents. I

:01:27. > :01:31.am sad for the loss of Abdullah but at the same time I can feel some

:01:32. > :01:39.comfort that he went for a just cause. Abdullah Deghayes went to

:01:40. > :01:42.this high school. Tributes have been left on social media, and friends

:01:43. > :01:49.said they had no idea he was even in Syria. He normally just goes to

:01:50. > :01:54.visit family in Libya. He always seemed a happy person,

:01:55. > :02:00.happy`go`lucky, really. It's just a shock, it really is. News of his

:02:01. > :02:06.death comes after just another Sussex man died after driving a

:02:07. > :02:09.truck bomb into a prison in Aleppo. Today, Abdullah Deghayes's father

:02:10. > :02:14.insisted his son had not bedn part of any radical group in Brighton.

:02:15. > :02:20.But was simply doing what hd thought was right. Do you think your son is

:02:21. > :02:24.a martyr? Of course. I think as a Muslim that my son is a martyr.

:02:25. > :02:31.Anyone who dies for a just cause as a martyr. Tonight we have hdard from

:02:32. > :02:39.Omagh, Abdullah's uncle. He was held in Guantanamo Bay. He said he had

:02:40. > :02:41.sacrificed his life in defence of children and that the familx's heart

:02:42. > :02:44.will ache for ever. A 45`year`old lorry driver has been

:02:45. > :02:48.released on bail after being questioned over Wednesday's crash on

:02:49. > :02:51.the M26 in Kent that left two people dead and seven others in hospital.

:02:52. > :02:58.It happened near Kemsing and involved two HGVs, two cars and a

:02:59. > :03:01.van. Two French day`trippers, a 22`year`old woman and a 16`xear`old

:03:02. > :03:07.girl, died in the crash which shut the motorway for much of thd day.

:03:08. > :03:10.The Archbishop of Canterburx this afternoon held an open`air Good

:03:11. > :03:13.Friday mass in the centre of Dover. The Most Reverend Justin Welby led a

:03:14. > :03:19.congregation while carrying a cross through Dover town centre. Our

:03:20. > :03:25.correspondent Yvette Austin reports. Bearing across, the Archbishop of

:03:26. > :03:28.Canterbury symbolising the last journey of Jesus Christ. Behind him

:03:29. > :03:34.a procession of Christians wend its way from Dover town centre to Dover

:03:35. > :03:38.Castle. The end of a week in which the Archbishop has been in the town

:03:39. > :03:43.visiting church groups and learning about local issues. One of the

:03:44. > :03:46.things that has struck me as the sense of community here, and the way

:03:47. > :03:51.people are pulling together. And the way all the churches in the town

:03:52. > :03:55.have got together to meet the needs of the town. On the issue of

:03:56. > :04:01.increasing numbers of migrants risking their lives to reach Dover,

:04:02. > :04:05.he said he was working to hdlp. They are very often the poorest of the

:04:06. > :04:09.poor. They need to be loved and treated with human respect `nd

:04:10. > :04:14.dignity. The issues are immdnsely complicated that you are referring

:04:15. > :04:16.to. What I know is that the churches are working around the world to

:04:17. > :04:22.tackle the source of these problems. I was in Sudan in January. To bring

:04:23. > :04:26.the possibilities of reconchliation so that people do not have that

:04:27. > :04:31.desperate need which drives them to such extreme measures. The

:04:32. > :04:35.archbishop made clear today he was a people's man and the people `` the

:04:36. > :04:37.people warmed to him. Football and Brighton have loved

:04:38. > :04:40.into the Championship play`off places after drawing with

:04:41. > :04:44.Huddersfield. And at the other end of the table, Charlton missdd the

:04:45. > :04:47.chance to move four points clear of the relegation zone as they only

:04:48. > :04:49.managed a goalless draw agahnst Bolton. Both our League One teams

:04:50. > :04:53.celebrated victory today. Ghllingham won 2`0 at home against Tranmere

:04:54. > :04:59.Rovers. And Crawley managed a 2`1 win over high`flying Leyton Orient.

:05:00. > :05:02.Time for the weather forecast. Good evening. It is going to be a

:05:03. > :05:07.dry night with clear spells out there. Patchy cloud coming `nd

:05:08. > :05:11.going. Potential therefore chilly temperatures, around three or four

:05:12. > :05:15.Celsius. A touch of ground frost into the early hours of tomorrow

:05:16. > :05:18.morning. Early brightness for tomorrow morning, perhaps some

:05:19. > :05:23.sunshine, there will be showers around through the morning. The odd

:05:24. > :05:28.one could be on the heavy shde. A midday, largely dry and bright. 11

:05:29. > :05:33.or 12 degrees. As the wind comes in a more easterly direction, not as

:05:34. > :05:37.warm as it has been today. Some fine sunshine to end the day but it goes

:05:38. > :05:42.downhill for Easter Sunday, low pressure is moving in. This means

:05:43. > :05:46.wet weather. Expect the day that is cloudy with outbreaks of rahn, some

:05:47. > :05:51.of it on the heavy side. More settled into the start of ndxt week.

:05:52. > :05:56.That's it for now. We will be back with an update at 10:15pm. Whatever

:05:57. > :06:10.you are doing enjoy the rest of your evening. Goodbye.

:06:11. > :06:15.Today we have seen temperatures rising if Scotland but again

:06:16. > :06:19.tonight, with the clear skies and light wind temperatures will fall

:06:20. > :06:23.sharply, and for many of us, we are looking at a touch of frost. The

:06:24. > :06:26.satellite picture tells a story nicely. This belt of cloud is

:06:27. > :06:31.sitting in the far north-west of Scotland, we have had this cloud

:06:32. > :06:34.bubbling up across eastern areas and with the northerly wind it has felt

:06:35. > :06:37.cold in East Anglia. That cloud is going to melt away, we will get an

:06:38. > :06:40.easterly breeze picking the cloud back in again later in the night in

:06:41. > :06:44.eastern areas and we still have this cloud and rain in the far north west

:06:45. > :06:48.of Scotland, but for most we will have clear sky, light wind, Ness are

:06:49. > :06:52.the temperatures in towns and city, spin it round into the countryside,

:06:53. > :06:56.you can see it is colder, close to freezing, it could be down to minus

:06:57. > :06:58.three or four in Scotland. Saturday,
