:00:00. > 3:59:59now. There is more throughout the evening

:00:00. > :00:09.Good evening. Anti`fracking on bids the BBC News channel.

:00:10. > :00:12.Good evening. Anti`fracking protestors are considering a legal

:00:13. > :00:15.challenge against a decision to approve plans for the continued

:00:16. > :00:19.exploration for oil and gas in a Sussex village. The energy company

:00:20. > :00:22.Cuadrilla can now carry out further tests at the site in Balcombe. Last

:00:23. > :00:27.summer protestors gathered amid fears that test drilling could lead

:00:28. > :00:31.to fracking. Cuadrilla has said it won't carry out hydraulic fracturing

:00:32. > :00:38.at the site. The frack`free Balcombe Residents' Association is to meet

:00:39. > :00:41.lawyers next week. People in the South East are being warned to be

:00:42. > :00:44.more vigilant after an increase in ticks in the countryside. Ramblers

:00:45. > :00:47.and dog walkers in particular should check themselves for ticks, which

:00:48. > :00:50.carry a bacterial infection called Lyme Disease. Research suggests that

:00:51. > :01:00.there are now more around than ever before. She was diagnosed with Lyme

:01:01. > :01:05.Disease in 2011 after holidaying in Scotland. Months, Sarah was

:01:06. > :01:11.housebound. She even had to give up her job as a vet. I in horrific

:01:12. > :01:19.pain. I was bedbound, unable to set up never mind walk. I partner had to

:01:20. > :01:26.feed me, bade me and dress me. I was in this state for six months. Lyme

:01:27. > :01:30.Disease is spread to humans by infected ticks. It can affect the

:01:31. > :01:38.skin, heart and nervous system. There is a warning that ticks are

:01:39. > :01:41.currently on the rise. Ticks are carried by deer and there is an

:01:42. > :01:45.increasing population of them in the UK. They are also carried by birds.

:01:46. > :01:55.You can get in anywhere in your garden the matter where you live.

:01:56. > :02:00.This takes years to recover from. Prevention is better than you are.

:02:01. > :02:03.The best thing is for people to check themselves, check their

:02:04. > :02:08.children and their animals when they come back from a walk. Despite being

:02:09. > :02:12.a vet, Sarah says she knew very little about Lyme Disease until she

:02:13. > :02:15.was diagnosed. She now takes a daily concoction of pills and wants to

:02:16. > :02:21.raise awareness so that others do not have to go what she did.

:02:22. > :02:24.Firefighters in Kent and Sussex are staging a second strike today in a

:02:25. > :02:27.long`running dispute with the Government over pensions. Members of

:02:28. > :02:31.the Fire Brigades Union walked out at 2pm today for 12 hours. There

:02:32. > :02:34.will be similar action tomorrow. The union is unhappy with the latest

:02:35. > :02:37.deal offered by the Government. Thousands of children have marched

:02:38. > :02:40.through the centre of Brighton today to mark the start of the city's arts

:02:41. > :02:43.festival. 5,000 youngsters from 83 schools took part in the Children's

:02:44. > :02:47.Parade. Around 10,000 people watched the largest annual children's event

:02:48. > :02:50.in the UK. For 25 years or so, the Children's Parade has started

:02:51. > :02:53.Brighton Festival and that means that children who are involved in

:02:54. > :02:58.the Festival have parents who were once part of the Children's Parade.

:02:59. > :03:06.So it is a wonderful, wonderful part of Brighton's history. It's been an

:03:07. > :03:09.action`packed weekend for our football teams. In the Championship,

:03:10. > :03:12.Brighton have qualified for the end`of`season playoffs after an

:03:13. > :03:15.injury stoppage time goal from Leonardo Ajowa gave them a 2`1 win

:03:16. > :03:18.over Nottingham Forest. They will now face Derby County in the

:03:19. > :03:22.semi`finals. The home leg will be at the Amex on Thursday and the return

:03:23. > :03:25.leg will be the following Sunday. Meanwhile, also in the Championship,

:03:26. > :03:30.Charlton had a convincing victory against Blackpool in their away

:03:31. > :03:32.game, winning 3`0. And in League One, Gillingham drew one`all against

:03:33. > :03:43.Shrewsbury at the Priestfield, and Crawley Town also drew one`all in

:03:44. > :03:47.their game against Bristol City. Hello there. It turned into a

:03:48. > :03:50.beautiful day despite a chilly start, and, actually, we have

:03:51. > :03:52.another chilly night as we get to the night

:03:53. > :03:57.A cold start tomorrow, warming up, in fact probably a little bit warmer

:03:58. > :04:01.than it was today. We have some clear skies around through the night

:04:02. > :04:04.tonight, and like last night, that means temperatures will really be

:04:05. > :04:07.allowed to fall away. The wind direction started to change, too.

:04:08. > :04:10.That plays a crucial role in fortunes for the next couple of

:04:11. > :04:13.days. Now, these are very conservative town temperatures, it

:04:14. > :04:17.will be much colder than that in the outlying countryside. We will see a

:04:18. > :04:20.grass frost and an air frost in some spots. But a bright start for

:04:21. > :04:23.tomorrow and we have that southerly wind developing which means

:04:24. > :04:27.temperatures will lift a little in the next couple of days. Day by day,

:04:28. > :04:31.we will be gaining a degree or two, so tomorrow up to 13 or 14, possibly

:04:32. > :04:37.more than that, especially in London area. Inland we will see highs of 16

:04:38. > :04:41.and 17. And warmer still potentially for Bank Holiday Monday, a lot of

:04:42. > :04:43.cloud around but staying dry until the end of things on Tuesday into

:04:44. > :05:17.Wednesday. Goodbye. Good evening. It was a cold, even

:05:18. > :05:21.frosty start to the Bank Holiday weekend but for most of us day one

:05:22. > :05:25.of three has been dry. We are going to see changes, the first of those

:05:26. > :05:28.changes spilling across Scotland and Northern Ireland as outbreaks of

:05:29. > :05:32.rain drifting through the night. Getting into parts of northern

:05:33. > :05:35.England as well. With the cloud and rain it will not be as cold as last

:05:36. > :05:40.night, temperatures staying in double figures in many cities. In

:05:41. > :05:43.the south, clear skies once more. Like last night, it is going to be

:05:44. > :05:49.cold. Parts of the countryside will be down to zero, maybe -1, as we

:05:50. > :05:53.start Sunday. A chilly start. Generally a fine day was quite a bit

:05:54. > :05:59.of sunshine. Elsewhere, sunshine in short supply to start with. Dull,

:06:00. > :06:03.damp morning. It will turn brighter in some areas as the day goes on. In

:06:04. > :06:06.Northern Ireland, for the afternoon, a pulse of rain is expected to stop

:06:07. > :06:10.it will push into south-west Scotland later in the day. Maybe

:06:11. > :06:14.brightening up in parts of northern Scotland and North East England.

:06:15. > :06:18.Showers continuing across north-west England. The odd shower in North

:06:19. > :06:23.Wales and Midlands but generally the southern half of the UK and dry with

:06:24. > :06:24.spells of sunshine. Clouding over a
